So, hey! I was a member back at the old turn of the millennium... the good old days of yesteryear, as opposed to the good new days of... toyear, or tomorryear. Yeah, that's it. Those who were around way back then (Jase, Kat, Seg, Mat, and quite a few others, it seems!) would remember me as Da Masta or Jon'atha (a very convenient name, since it's only a letter off from my real one). My life got busy and I stopped visiting regularly around '03 or so if I recall, and I pop in again from time to time (i.e., once a year or two) as my thoughts drift back to the best community I've ever had the privilege and pleasure of being a family member in (Gasp! Hello, I am Arani Lepenque, and I'm hoping to become an Aes Sedai, as can be seen from my username (though I'm Male here). I've always like Robert Jordan and I hope I can enjoy myself here. I'm a little lost here though. How do I join the White Tower? ???

Howdy folks, I usually just used the Robert Jordan blog pages to keep up on the development of the final book. I hadn't checked it in a few months so just found out about his passing. Somehow it didn't make any of the news I watch or read. I join with you all in being saddened at his loss. Anyway, I bought Eye of the World when it was released in 1990 and I have spent the past 17 years being impatient for RJ to write them faster. I thought I would join these forums to begin discussing with others the author and books that I have loved best in my many years of reading. I'm even a big fan of his Reagan O'Neal books. Looking forward to the many interesting…

Alright guys, I've been buzzing around DM for a few weeks now since I heard that RJ was sick. It was terrible to here of his passing and I thought I'd try to get myself a bit involved here. I'm a college student in Ireland. I started reading WoT probably 10 years ago and I've started rereading them since RJ's death. I'll try to do some DM exploring on my own, but any tips would of course be welcome. See you around... Artos.

Hello! I'm obviously new here, and I'm not very technologically literate, so I know I'm gonna have problems, but just wanted to say hey! So, I'm a teenager and I loooooooooooooooooove the WoT books. I'm not quite done with Knife of Dreams yet, but I'm almost there! If I have any questions, I guess I can just post on a general board or something. Well, nice to "meet" you guys!

Hi everyone, I already introduced myself in the Newbie Thread but under the suggestion of Barmacral, I've made my own introduction thread. Not sure what to say, I've finished all the books in the series and am on my second time through it (in the middle of Fires of Heaven at the moment.) I've lurked on DM for a while to keep checking RJ's blog to keep track of his progress. I heard he passed on the day after it happened and was very saddened for everyones loss, especially for Harriet and Wilson. I finally got up the nerve to register and post my first question in the TSR Thread here. I've first read EotW six years ago and I hurriedly finished the whole se…

Finally decided to sign up. I stumbled upon DM sometime last year to learn of RJ's illness. I was so sure that RJ was right about being around for a long time, and that he would truly deliver all the stories that he promised, as they were still in his head. I jumped all over a family member who noticed the hardbound copies of the WoT on my bookshelf and explained to his wife that fans were worried that he would die before he finished. I told him, RJ's not dying, he's battling cancer, but he's doing great. I struggled not to cry when a friend at work forwarded me a news story reporting his death. :( His death is truly a great loss to the world. And after reading his blog f…

I am new to the forums, even though I've been reading them for a few years now. I tend to be on the shy, quiet side, viewing from the shadows, but I have enjoyed this forum so much I finally decided to register. I started reading tEotW in 1995 and have read most of the books so many times they need to be replaced. So, hello to all! I look forward to truly being a part of this community. :)

I look forward to contributing to some of the topics, and hopefully hearing of some stuff that i didn't know yet. I posted a reply in the sticky, but I though maybe I should make a thread as well. So nice to meet you all, and see you around these forums. P.S. Hmmm... was wondering if i should post some other interests that I have or not. Well my main interests are playing poker, reading, and watching football. I also play a few sports but far too many too list. I'd like to think I'm somewhat …

Hey everyone, Its actually been a long time coming for me. I've been regularly visiting Dragonmount for, hmmmm 7 or 8 years i think. I've always loved coming here and reading the interesting posts, and checking out what's new. So I don't feel completely new, hah. I was never big on joining forum communities, but my new job keeps me at my desk all day. So what better community to join? A little about WoT. I love the series, I was sad to hear when Robert Jordan passed away, its strange feeling like that for someone whom you don't know. I can't count how many times I've read and re-read the books. To me its all about the ridiculous amount of plot lines. I pic…

  19. Hello all, I need to appologise for the late publication of this month's Hornsounder which was totally due to my lack of time because Real Life was too rude to consider letting me have 10% of a personal life. But it's here, the September Edition of the Hornsounder Newspaper is up and published and ready for your enjoyment. Just follow the link in my signature, get comfy and read, laugh, ponder and dream to your heart's content. October Edition will hold a special dedication to Robert Jordan. For the Hornsounder is celebrating the man, the writer, his work and the impact all of it has had on the lives of the fans. This will be done in special items …

Hello, I'm HighWiredSith My user name predates the prequels so don't get me started. I've been reading WOT off an on for nearly four years now. I admit the first book wasn't as impressive as I expected and as a result it was nearly a year and a half before I picked up The Great Hunt. They say you can't judge a book by its cover but I have to admit that the cover to TGH kept me from purchasing it on at least five different occasions (not sure if there are different covers, I am referring to the cover where Rand is holding the horn aloft - Loial is there to I guess Lanfear - very cartoonish looking imho). Anyway - it was much to my shame because I absolutely lo…

Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the site but have actually been visiting it since about 1996 - 1997 or thereabouts, when it started off with a little flash anination if I remember correctly. I have always looked at this site daily and probably more for a good many years but never actually signed up to it. I did try once but there were problems so did not try again. I never thought it would take RJ's passing for me to sign up. RJ's death hit home for me even moreso than under normal circumstances, because at the time RJ was diagnosed and he revealed to us all what was happening my younger brother, who was the light of my family's life was also diagnosed wi…

After some time I decided to get on here and take another peek (not a lurker) lol I found this site about a month ago after I not all that long ago started reading "Wheel of time", and thought I had registered back then but never did get around to posting. This seems like a great site. I am an avid fantasy genre reader and would like to get to know everyone eventually. Great meeting you all, oh, and yes ... 23. Hi @ll, the wheel of time fell into my hands last year while I was staying in the USA. It was really accidently. I asked a friend whether he has something to read for me since I was going to go some place by train and I was very bored and he gave me "The Eye of the World". The next couple of weeks I kept reading. I laid the books down to eat or to sleep, but most of the time I kept reading. I have never been to caught by any book at all. Considering that it was the first fantasy book I ever touched I have been very lucky indeed to start off with the best fantasy book I can imagine :-). Anyway. I stayed for 10 months in the USA and returned home to Germany afterw…

  24. Hello everyone. Im new to the forums, but have been a fan of Robert Jordan's for over seven years. I first discovered the Wheel of Time after a particularly messy break up at a which time I was feeling particularly depressed and vulnerable. Needing an escape from the things going on in my life I threw myself into RJ's first Wheel of Time novel and have been hooked ever since. Having only just learned of RJ's passing I can't help but feel like something extremely important is now missing from my life. I realise that my own feelings of loss pale in comparrison to those of his nearest and dearest. I came on to the forums now, because I honestly feel the need to talk to …

Since I first saw these Forums. I finally decided to join up, and get to know the rest of the community and allow everyone else here, to meet me. Robert Jordan heavily influenced and affected my sense of joy in the Fantasy genre. Read everything he wrote with the exception of a couple of the Conan The Barbarian books. The Wheel of Time... Loved it, never could get enough of it, and now it seems RJ has left this plane of Earthly existence. I have heard many things concerning A Memory of Light, and just want to clear perhaps a part of the gossip myths or rumors, This may have already been answered, so forgive me if I am wasting characters of space. Was there enough in…

Hey there everyone. Just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. I'm in the middle of A Crown of Swords. I was looking online for info on the 12th book only to find out RJ has passed on. I think I had to pick up my jaw up off my desk when I saw it. I've only been reading the Wot series for about a year now and I regret not picking it up sooner. These are by far the best books I have ever read. And now to find out the Creator himself has passed on is definately a shock.

Hello from the Midwest, I was always an avid reader as a teen/young adult. During high school I would often read up to three books at a time. In 1992 I stumbled upon a trade paperback (Large paperback) of "The Eye of the World." I read the book in two sittings and thouroughly enjoyed it. I had no idea that there were more until I mentioned the book at a D&D session. Well I rushed right out and got 1-5 in small paperback. I have re-read the entire series with the release of each new book 6-11 and Prequel. I thought that I was unique in that aspect, But I am finding that Jordan fans are known for this activity. As of yet I have not read K…

So often, I've read a topic and wanted to respond, but because of time constraints or just pure laziness I've passed. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of good times and spirited discussions. But as they say, it's never too late (just who the heck is "they" anyhow?) :D The news of RJ's passing caught me off guard, as I'm sure it did many. I can't completely express how much the WoT books have given me, though I certainly hope (and am mostly convinced) that he enjoyed the telling as much as I enjoyed the listening. I am thankful for the…
