Hey, Look at me, I'm brand new. Woo-hoo. So, introductions are in order, eh? Okay, sure, let's do that. I've read the series... two or three times, and listened to it once (though I'm still in the process of that, halfway through 5 right now). I absolutely love RPing it, but hardly anyone ever knows what it is. Wheel of Time is WAY better than Lord of the Rings and definitely better than Harry Potter so we gotta see about some movies right now! Which brings me to point 2. I'm a film major. I'm looking to be a writer/director/editor. I enjoy all aspects of film making, though, and am in my second year of school for it. Yay, me. I also like writing and I enjoy dra…

So, obviously, I am new here. Or newly joined I should say. I have lurked here for as long as I can remember. When I first discovered WOT (5ish) years ago I knew exactly one person who had read them. So I looked for other outlets. And then I discovered Dragonmount. And lurked. I always told myself that someday I would register, and I am sad to say that it was RJ's death that made me do it. Not that I have anything particularly eloquent to say, but I find that I am alone in my grief, and I just couldn't take it anymore. The simple act of registering has made me feel a million times better, just because I now officially belong to a community that cares as much as I…

Hello, call me Andraste, New to the site, though been a long-running fan, been on a couple of older sites back when I was younger and strangely a more avid reader... Few questions: where do I start rp-ing, and how is it preferred, and etc?

I was in the process of reading Winter's Heart the second time through before getting into Knife of Dreams for the first, when I heard the horrible news. I attempted to get my friends and family to understand the importance of this. My favourite author has left this world. But they didn't understand. How could they? I was desperate to find someone, anyone who felt as I did so that I knew I wasn't alone in this. And so here I am... I don't really have much to say, except that RJ was an inspiration, and I wished more than anything to be at his funeral, to pay my respects to this wonderful man. But alas, such is not for everyone, especially not just "anot…

Hey everyone! I'm fairly new to this forum stuff, at least in this format. I am ashamed to admit that I really don't know what I'm doing or where to go for stuff. I don't even know how to edit my profile with signatures, pics, etc. What are some interesting discussions going on here? Where are interesting places to go, things to see? I'm a huge fan of WoT and I'd love to discuss it with other like-minded fans but I really don't know where to go, so any advice would be very welcome! Thanks! ;D

Okay, so.. Hi. For those who know me, I'm back. For those who don't know me, howdy. Umm.. wow. It's been.. years. And years. Literally. Long story about how I left. The abridged version is that my exgirlfriend didn't want me on here because she was convinced I was going to meet someone I would eventually dump her for. Let's nevermind that.. nevermind. Anyway. So I left. I picked the woman over my friends. (I know, I lose times infinity) But I'm back and that's been over for years, I just.. haven't lived in one place long enough to rejoin even to say much more than howdy. Yeah.. I'm just dropping by. Saying hello since.. a friend told me I should drop by …

I got house bound this summer and have been lurking off and on here wondering what some of my old friends were up to lately. The latest news got me to register to find out more. It took me a few days to get over the news. But I feel I must share in the loss of RJ here as there isn't anyone else out there in my life who understands it. It was his book that brought me to DM originally. It was Jason's vision that got me out of my house and into the world again, even if it was originally just a cyber world :) A part of me wishes I was back in the online universe permanently. But I am just a lurker for now. Life has had me by the horns for a few years n…

I've been reading and surfing around DM for a few years and I finally decided I wanted to be able to throw my two cents into whatever was going on in the forums and the RJ Blog. Just a tad about myself. I'm in the US Army, and I'm currently serving on my 2nd deployment to Iraq. I'm originally from Texas, and I've been happily married for 2 1/2 years now to my wife Stenia. No kids, unless you count cats/dog. I love the WoT and I've begun reading it through a second time in preparation for a MoL's release. I'm a big fan of the entire theorizing that is done with this series, and my only regret is that I didn't get into it sooner. Thanks, and I'll see y'all around.

I read the first 5 books as a soldier stationed in Korea. At the time they were all that was out. I began reading again some time later but life didn't allow me the time to finish. Again I begin reading, completely absorbed. 2 weeks and 2 books into it, approximately 1 week after looking online for the first time, to learn who He is, at His blog, and reading of His battle, I check back and my mind cannot comprehend what it is these strange characters on the screen are telling me. Words, I think they're called. Still no idea. As my reeling mind begins to comprehend I am immediately filled with a great sense of loss. My best friend that I have never met... Or spoke…

Heyo. I've been reading here since Robert Jordan started his blog, but I figured about a month ago that it was time I at least create a login, even if I probably won't be posting much. I've been reading the WoT since about 2001, when my college roomate got me into the series. I've re-read it a couple of times since then, and I happened to be starting book 4 again the day Mr. Rigney passed away. I enjoy reading everyone's theories, and now hopefully I'll have a bit to contribute myself here and there. Regards, ~Lemagrag

Welcome! We're always happy to see new members, no matter the circumstances. Unfortunately, you are joining us at a very trying time. Not only are we reeling from the death of our favorite author, but our forums were down for a week due to the overwhelming traffic on this site. Some of our members are still unable to access the site, a situation I expect to continue for a few more days. However, please don't let that stop you from joining and participating in our community. We're doing our very best to reorganize ourselves after the events of the last week, but we still have time to help our new members get oriented. Please feel free to ask anyone a question, …

Hello, I'm a new member here on the boards, and I apologize if I'm a little long winded. I've only read up to book six, the Lord of Chaos (I'm about 100 pages short of being done with it) and I found this page under the most tragic of circumstances. I was checking my inbox on DeviantArt and found a journal post by one of my friends that had a link to RJ's blog, and it broke my heart to learn of his passing so soon after becoming acquainted with his works. And then I found the link to the temporary forums and skulked around for a bit, and I got an overwhelming feeling of friendliness and community from the messages posted there. I investigated a lot of sites (s…

Hi to all, I am new to the site, although in the past I have looked here and at other WOT sites, I have not participated. I just felt now I should say something. I have been a reader since "EOTW" was printed in paperback. Each time a new book would come out, a good friend and myself would reread all the stories to get current, then go out and buy the new hardcover. We were in that process for "KOD" and then my good friend passed away, This was just about a year ago, and as such, I never started "KOD". I had been rereading though recently and was into "COT" and then of course Tuesday heard the news. I am in shock and stunned. I do not know what to say. I feel such a loss a…

Wow where to start? Well I am reading The Dragon Reborn, and this is how I got started, I went to visit my oldest son about 2 years ago to see my 3 week old first grandchild and at the airport I bought a book for the trip.. It turned out that book wasn't the first one so I didn't read it, when I did finally read the first one after I finished it then read the one I had... got the third and after reading about 4 to 6 chapters I realized hum I missed something so I went back and looked at the book I had from the airport and it said the Hunt Begins part one of book two... so I researched the book and found it is a Young adult edition and it's only half the book and after a …

Hi all, I am a newbie to Dragonmount. I started reading the series through my local library in Country NSW Australia a few years ago but found even my smallish library had avid readers of these great novels so I could never have them for as long as I needed. We have since moved to a smaller town and I started reading again from book 1. I am now up to book 5 and remember how much I love the world of the WoT. I am going to be well and truly finished the series by the time book 12 comes out... it might just mean I need to read them again what a darned pity that is! Ok thats it. I just wanted to introduce myself, I am now off to investigate this site further. ;D

;Hello, fellow WoT fans. I just finally got around to getting onto the forums for this site, after a freind of mine told me about it about a month ago. As the title states, I'm just now discovering the site, but have been reading the series since early 1995, roughly since I was in eighth grade. Yes, feel free to go ahead and do the math. To some, I'm not that old, but to others on this board, i started reading the series before they were out of diapers. Gods, I feel old sometimes. Well, just drop me a line to say hey if you want. I really need to get back into the swing of the novels, so I'm just gonna sit back and get caught up. don't be surprised if I only chime in rare…

I've been reading around the site for sometime and thought it was time to sign up and maybe contribute. Of course I enjoy the WoT books as well as many other books. For some reason I find it near to impossible to get rid of old books, even ones I didn't enjoy!! So I have way to many really. However the WoT series is one of the keep sets :) So, finally hello for the UK (England) in my case. Hope to be here more. Kevin.

CALLING ALL EUROPEAN DMERS!!!! After the success and fun of the first ever DM EuroMeet, held in London over a long weekend in July 2007, planning for the next EuroMeet is well underway. And what makes DM EuroMeet 2008 even more exciting is the fact that 2008 is the year that DM celebrates its 10th Birthday! So why not join in the celebrations with your fellow DMers from Europe? After the London meet and discussion on the DM boards, two cities have been chosen as possible locations for DM EuroMeet 2008. Voting is currently going on to determine where the event will be held, and the voting ends on 31st October 2007 to allow the next stage of the planning to st…

Not that I accuse any of you of torturing newbies of course :P Hey everyone! I'm Arae, I'm from Scotland, and I've been searching for a good WoT RP community for some time... I've just never quite found one ::) Hopefully I'll be able to learn how to do this one - it seems quite complicated, can anyone give me a helping hand? Anyway, hello!
