Yeah I am a big LotR fan, it was what started me into the whole fantasy genre, specifically high fantasy. Right now Im reading A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, and I gotta say its pretty incredible. Also, Im in the middle of The Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind, and it is wonderful as well... But the name is kind of loosely elven, based on Tolkien's rules. However, I intend to kind of change up the last name a bit to make it sound more "mannish" eventually, cause if I'm going to rp in the WoT world, it will have to be changed a bit. Can anyone explain this "organization" thing to me? I mean, I think I understand the jist of it, with …

Hi everyone. The name's Deleios (well nickname actually, but who cares?). I'm from France and I'm a big WoT fan (well, who isn't here?). I read the books en English and I don't mean to read them in French. Plus, the latest ones weren't translated yet, so I could not wait, I guess. I just hope my English will be good enough to talk with everyone here, if you think something I say sounds weird, feel free to tell me! About myself, well, I'm 25 since yesterday, and I love heroic fantasy, I have played role playing games for a long time (mainly AD&D) but I have little time for this now, unfortunately :-[ Well, I don't know what to add for now, if …

Hello, I'd thought I'd introduce myself with my experience with WoT. About two years back a buddy of mine would not stop bugging me about this series, he kept saying "Dude you have to read WoT, you have to read WoT" Finally I broke down and bought EotW. I had the the hardest time getting into that book, I just recently finished it. I just kept putting it down and picking it back up again. I have to admit, I have the attention span of a dead moose. There was rarely a moment the book wasnt on my mind, and yet I couldnt bring myself to finish it. I finally sat down and made myself finish it. I remember reading how the gang got to the Eye, how they fought the Forshake…

Hello everyone. I have been checking in on RJ's blog for a couple of months and just now decided to get involved with the forums. I found tEotW in an old house that i was helping fix up. After reading it I decided to read the rest of the series. That was a year ago and I just read book 11 and a new spring last month. Now that I am on here, what do you guys suggest I should check out? There are quite a few things I do not remember from the books, that is why I am going to read them all again.

Well, time to introduce myself! I've been reading WoT since about 1999. I read it through once and stopped at Winter's Heart; I'm just finishing my second read-through and am 1/6 of the way through Knife of Dreams, which is splendid. Also I have, alarmingly, gotten my girlfriend addicted, despite her preference for Tolstoy and Jane Austin and her complete absence of geekdom - proof that R.J. is in fact a very good writer. The nickname is pronounced to rhyme with Tire or Pyre or Fire. I haven't used it in years, but couldn't think of a new one. Life details: I am interested in cognitive anthropology, guitar, writing, photography, and a ton of other stuff, in…

Hi I'm new here at Dragonmount and I just thought I would come introduce myself. You can call me Aiden or 'that guy' or 'hey you' or watever, I'm not very particular about names. Anyway, I'm fifteen years old and have been reading Wheel of Time since I was eleven. Right now, I'm only RPing at the Black Tower, and I don't intend to joing any ORGs, but you never know. ;) Hmmm... I like WoT (duh) and reading in general, as well as playing on the computer. Erm... that's it for now I guess, can't wait to meet everyone! ~Aiden

Hey all! Finally got around to signing up here. I honestly don't know when I started reading WoT, but as I have vague memories of doing an oral report on what I think was either FoH or LoC in middle school, and I am now 21, it's been years. I will have to avoid the thread on KoD though, I am sorry to say. Between one thing or another, I simply haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I do intend to get into at least one roleplay around here. I enjoy character-building and writing so much I was quite addicted to text-based roleplay at one point in time. I have since learned moderation, so no worries. ^_^ As for my handle, I'm known as Tiger or a variation thereof…

Hello everybody, and to all the very old members, hello again! It's been... a long, long--okay, well years since I've been here. I still recognize a few names though ;) Anyway I started out at DM back in 2001 and have been off-on since, and I'd like to get into RPing again. Actually, I was about to get into RPing again when some unexpected RL matters transfered me to a different state, and with all the happy stress that came with it I totally forgot about RPing. Well anyway, I posted a bit more detail in the WT forum about RPing again, just wanted to say hi.

You don't have to run away. Hope is not lost! As it happens there is a small firefox plug-in which allows you to change the sites CSS and designs to your personal flavor. It requires; a) Firefox to be installed b) a rudimentary grasp of CSS c) 5 minutes of your time to pick new colors, etc.. d) I didn't check. But if you google, you might get lucky and find a pre-done script which you really like which is acceptable for DM. Which makes it into a quick cut/paste action and nothing more. The add-on; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108 In case CSS code is not your strength, here is an easy step by step guide; …

*waves* Been lurking for a while, thought I'd finally say howdy. Picked up tEotW last November to keep me occupied over Thanksgiving weekend, finished KoD by New Year's and read New Spring a few weeks later. I'm now starting my fourth trip through. Nice to meet you all!

. . Due to DM moving to new boards some of the info maybe obsolete. Mainly to do with moving boards around, so links will be effected. Most of the content still applies. . Want to register and become a DM member? Click here! Give your name a bit of thought to avoid the need for change as this obviously creates work for the admin guys. A name that can be pronnounced to some degree does make life easier.…

To all DMers, Some of you will know that the Band of the Red Hand ORG has put a lot of time and effort into our first edition of a revised Hornsounder to make it bigger and better than before, turn it from a newsletter to a newspaper, but more importantly, make it so that it is for you, the members of DM, to read. However, many of you will not know this, so with your Moderator's permission, I am going to leave The Hornsounder team explain what is new, what is exciting, and how you can get involved. As I said, this is the first edition, and over the coming months, and hopefully years, The Hornsounder will grow and improve, and become the monthly newspaper that all …

Hi, as the title suggests, I am new to these forums. I have been on a few forums before, but never about a book series (was pc games). My favorite character is Demandred, and I think I like him because he reminds me of myself - second best at lots of things, always to the same person. I am 15 and am from Edinburgh, Scotland. Thanks to El Jefe for getting me here.

New guy here, checkin in. I've been reading fantasy since I was in grade school (many seasons ago) and was immediately hooked. Started out with stand alone books, then graduated to trilogies. Then I discovered the Death Gate Cycle. Seven books...wow. Couldn't get enough. Then a friend of mine in Japan (military guy here) gave me a copy of 'Eye of the World'. Been glued to the WoT world ever since. Hands down, the best set of books I've ever laid eyes upon. See yall 'round. Drag

Hey, I am Loranflame. I think I have been reading the wheel of time for two years. I have read the series twice now. Tried to convince my sister to read it but she got hooked onto Japanese mangas halfway through the first book. A shame cause it's a good series to talk about. I am looking forward to the last book. I am also wondering just how long it will be... but that is for some other place I guess. Anyways seems to be a cool community and I hope to have fun here. Well what can I say... Till we meet again walk in the light! Loranflame

Just stopping in to say "Why hello there!" I'm kind of an old school DMer, and have a little more free time right now between work. More commonly known as Zio Curselight, or Juda Sword. Yeah, that's right.. for some reason I always end up back here. Got myself a dreadlord that I'll have some pretty sweet character development in.. on that note, it's great to be back here.
