Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by sion,

Hi all, Only a few weeks ago I was introduced to the works of Mr Jordan. I have read 9 books so far and it was one of the best experiences I had in my life. Remember when you could not lay down a book because it was too excited to read ? Remember reading using a flashlight at night because it was past your bedtime. That is the feeling reading his works brought me, and I am eternally gratefull for that. I just hope I will be able to read the last book, part 12, when it comes out. My medical situation is grim and I may not have enough time left in this world to read the final chapter. I just hope you guys do and whatever happens I hope Mr Jordan will be able to comp…

Hello, Im a new member here, a small time editor from Quebec, I love reading, hope one day i will be wise enough to write a great book(when i have time that is, one day,one day). I want to tell u how i happened to come upon these books. A few years back, while my mom was still part of this world, I would see her reading the first book, she would suggest it to me, and I would continuously brush it off, I owe I owe so off to work i go :P, wasnt reading at all at that time, was engulfed in my work wich wouldnt leave me any free time at all, anyways, she passed away a few years ago. I was bored out of my mind like a month ago, after having went through the dune seri…

Hey! Definitely new to WoT communities and the series itself. In all honesty I'm not even half way through it yet, but I've fallen in love with it. Um... not new to roleplaying. It's something I actually enjoy a lot. So yeah... *waves*

  5. Started by Matjess,

Greetings. I'm new, despite being old. Back in '92, my son, then 13, was looking to buy me a birthday present. Based purely on the appeal of the cover painting, he gave me a book called "The Great Hunt". Over a few beers, I read the book overnight. It turned out that this Robert Jordan chap knew how to write a gripping tale. It wasn't until ten or eleven years later, whilst awaiting the latest installment, that I finally read "The Eye of the World". For me, this cast the story in an entirely different light, so much so that I continued on, reading all the other books a second time, despite the fact that the latest book (I forget which one now) had been realeased. I was de…

I started reading these incredible books just over a year ago. I'm presently in book nine. I hadn't really read much fanasy before and decided to try. The Eye of the World was the book I chose to see if fantasy novels are "my thing". Well, I am thouroughly hooked! The charachters are like real people to me. I have really enjoyed reading how these characters grow and progress through this great web of storytelling. I found this site a little while ago when I was looking for WoT art work. I am looking forward to getting involed here and sharing with others who appreciate the amazing world Robert Jordan has created.

Hello, everyone. I'm Jayge (obviously), a rather avid fan of WoT and rping. I'm farmiliar with WoT, and rp on another site where I'm the Leader of the Wolfbrothers and Master Warder to Salidar. Eventually, I figured I'd check out this place and actually do a bit of posting, so here I am! As you may have realized, I like Wolfbrothers and warders, though Mat is actually my favorite character, since he is becoming more developed now. Also, I enjoy the Seanchan culture, though I have to say, I don't like the arrogancy of the High Blood (and Aes Sedai, to add that).

I see you, as the Aiel say. I've read WOT 4 times since it came out. I found it EYE OF THE WORLD right after it came out in 1991. It was while on the USS Iwo Jima during Desert Shield/Storm, and i've been hooked ever since. Later on i found out my brother was reading them at the same time. Between the two of us we have every book. I am working on getting them all in hardback so i can have a set to myself

Ok i'll admit that i'm completely lost here... I just signed up and have no idea what is going on. At all. My friend is addicted to these things and convinced me into doing this as well as reading the books. What exactly is going on here? What is the overall concept and such? Also, I've noticed several things below posts, reading "bonded to such and such" "kin to this person". what is all this stuff? also how do i create a sig and get an avatar? if someone out there had pity on the noobs i'd appreciate the help.

Greetings all! I've recently turned my attention to WoT again and am engaging myself with all the current analysis (read: speculation). Looks like this will be a good place to let out my inner Fel. I adore picking apart the details of fantastic fiction and Jordan offers a bigger target than most. I'm tearing through the series again at present in order to freshen up, and realizing how much easier it is once the ins and outs are already second nature. Cheers!

Hi guys new to the forums but have been chacking out the site for some time now. I'm an avid reader(well I used to be, having kids kinda cuts into the ole reading time), and WOT is by far and away my favorite series of all time followed closely by the Julian May series of the Many Colored Land and the Galactic Milieu. Anyway back on topic. Just wanted to hi and that I'm glad to be here.

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I have been reading the WOT series since The Eye of the World first hit print. I literally read the first five books into oblivion in paperback, and finally realized that since I was going to be reading each one probably at least once a year, I might as well go ahead and invest in hardbacks. I now have every book up to the most recent one in hardback and they are proudly displayed on the top shelf of my book case. In my opinion, Robert Jordan is one of the finest authors of our time. He is definately playing on the same field as J.R.R. Tolkien. Ok, I'm done.

As far as music i like everything but pop, most hip-hop, and most country. My hobbies include reading (massively), practicing with new martial art styles and weapons, swimming, and hunting^^ And my fav character is either Egwene or Nynaeve^^ Hope i get to meet all of you!

A little dramatic perhaps, but thanks for looking at my topic. I discovered the Wheel of Time about 4 years ago when I started high school but I stopped being interested around book 5. I started over and re-read the series a while ago and I stayed fascinated all the way through, and decided I wanted to be more involved in the WoT community. I've just joined DragonMount, so I need some help getting around the site. The only forum I'm used to posting on is GameFaqs (a site devoted to video games for those who don't know), and the community there is . . . different. Anyways, I need some suggestions about what to do now that I'm a proud member of the DragonMount communit…

Hello, My name is Brad and I just read through the series for the first time this winter. I didn't realize what I was getting into when a friend suggested I borrow and read his copy of tEotW (sp?). I didn't stop until I finished the series, and am now impatiently awaiting the completion. I plan to lurk a bit, but this seems a likely place to find people to share thoughts and theories of what the Pattern might come to be. A side note, it is fun to see "whilst" used here so often! :)

Hi. I'm new here. :) I just started the Wheel of Time series about a month ago to pass the time while waiting for the next entry in George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series (which I assume I'll get knocked for around these parts, but anyhoo...) I'm currently on The Path of Daggers and have really enjoyed the series to this point. Great cast of characters and really a number of totally awesome scenes, many of which I've reread dozens of times already just to absorb the awesomeness. I figured I'd join up in case a question comes up or I need to run some thoughts by people with solid knowledge of the series, but I also enjoy art, both looking and cre…

Hello. I am reading the Wheel of Time series for the first time, and just finished The Fires of Heaven. I am an avid reader, but these books are the best books I have ever read. I see a strong resemblance between these books and the Old Stories of Celtic History and Mythology that I have heard from my Irish and Welsh Grandparents. I am definitely hooked. It is great to be able to meet others who share my interest in this world. I have also browsed the Gallery, and I would like to say that there are some very talented artists in this community. I look forward to reading the rest of the books, and to getting to know all of you. Aine
