Hello fellow WoT nerds! I finally made it! I've visited the site many times but I don't know why I didn't join before. Where I live, there aren't that many people who've read the series and I to talk with people about it, you know? I've been on the forum for a few days but for some reason, neglected to come and introduce myself. I was introduced to the series around the time of Mr. Jordan's passing. It was my Lit teacher who originally showed me the Eye of the World. I read the first few lines of the first page right there in her classroom. But I put it back and left as the bell rang. Then halfway back down the hall to homeroom; I ran back and grabbed it. For the …

I'm kidding :P I was walking through my local bookstore one day when across the way I saw a line of books on display. The titles were too far away for me to read but instantly the black covers caught my interest. With nothing more than that to go on (yes, I do judge books by their covers ;) I quickly grabbed up the first three and made my way to the counter. That was almost ten years (has it been that long???) ago now. Little did I know that from the first page Robert Jordan's words would sink their hooks into me, and they are still embedded deep to this day. At least once a year I read my favourite books from the series (The Eye of the World, Knife of Dreams) and…

Hello, I just finished A Memory of Light and look forward to participating on DM. I have a question. The link to the timeline is dead in the Wiki Biography Guidelines page (http://drpsw.wikia.com/wiki/Biography_guidelines). This is the dead link http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,37665.0.html I can't seem to find the PSW timeline for RPing and am very interested in reading it to help me develop a good character. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I am still reading Forums 101 and the Welcome Inn but still haven't come across another link. Thank you, Shannester

Hey all, I didn't go introduce myself since I'm lazy so I'll just say it here. I'm Amar from Bosnia and Herzegovina and I love WoT so far ( I'm on Shadow Rising ). Now enough about me, let's get to the point. Why do people say that each part the series gets worst ? I have heard "The first part was the best, the rest just get too long and boring" numerous times and it really bothers me. I only see the story getting more interesting. So is it due to me not having enough experience in fantasy or is it just people who can't do anything else but bash on a really good series ? That's all haha :) May you find water and shade friends :) EDIT: Ah I kind of missed the topi…

Hello! Started the series a few weeks ago. Working on Lord of Chaos now. I've not filled my profile though I'll get to that later (I've been told I'm a procrastinator but I've also been told that I should go easy on trying to prove people wrong so hey...) Anyway I look forward to chatting with the community. ^…^ Q. What did the Accepted say when the Aes Sedai expressed the mildest sympathy for all the hard disciplines? A. It shawl good.

I've been reading the WoT since the mid nineties, but for some reason I never looked for a community before. It's great to see a site of this quality doing so well! These things always end up sounding like a personal ad to me but here goes. I'm a 33 year old husband and father of 2 beautiful girls, avid gamer, active in my local church, and reader of fantasy books, at least as much as I have time for. I look forward to spending some time here and finding out about all the great little details Jordan put in this series that I've missed over the years.

Was cool, next time please have more food up in that hotel room upstairs for me to eat! :) What was there was good though! Loved the cookies! Anyways, need some advice...I am halfway done with the second to last book, I am up to the part where Perrin and the wolves just realize that the Last Hunt BEGINS!!!!! I love the series SOOOO MUCH and I don't want to finish it, but it is getting so good. Advice from finished readers needed. Take it really slow and en…

As A Memory of Light was released over one year ago, Dragonmount no longer restricts all spoilers for AMOL to a single spoiler forum. In this forum, I would ask all of you to bear in mind that many of our new members coming to introduce themselves to the community have not finished their first read-through of the series, and are looking for information about where they can go on the site without being inadvertently spoiled. Please be considerate and refrain from posting AMOL spoilers in the Introduce Yourself forum. If you would like to reference events of the final book, please make use of the spoiler tags as follows:
The Last Battle OMG
If …

Hello there! Thought I could just write a little introduction, after I've been checking out the forums for some days! I'm a 20 year-old girl from Norway (so my grammar and language are not the best), and have just read through the final book! The first time to read the three final books, after reading the 11 first ones one time before, for like 4-5 years ago. After reading the last book, I could finally start searching around for more WoT stuff and sites, and came across this one. I just can't get enough of my favorite book series. So I think I'm going to hang around here a lot, if that's okey. ;) Can just finish with saying that my favorite book would probably be tS…

Hi! I am an avid lover of the WOT books, although I didn't start reading them until last fall. My eldest son has loved the books since he was in high school and had been trying to get me to read them since 2002, but I refused to read them as long as the series was incomplete (I am NOT a patient person) and he refused to read any of the Harry Potter books. Last summer, he started reading Harry Potter for his girlfriend, who agreed to read WOT. So, in October, I decided to start reading the books, figuring that it would take me until January to get up-to-date and I wouldn't have to wait for "A Memory of Light." That was totally wrong. I am disabled and usually bedridden, an…

I've only been reading Wheel of Time for about a month and it is probably my favorite series ever. I just finished Book 12! (I'm reading it very fast) I think my favorite book so far was either book 5 or 11, and my least favorite was 8. My favorite character is Mat, by far. Actually, my English teacher recommended the books to me. I came on here because I expected there to be A LOT of Wheel of Time fans here and the Wheel of Time fandom on deviantArt is extremely inactive.

Hi everyone! I've been reading Wheel of Time since the late 90's. I read through every book until Crossroads of Twilight burned me out, after having read too many preceding books which had too much exposition and not enough plot movement. How many times can the women of WoT "smooth their skirts" before they tear a hole in the pattern? : ) Currently, I'm revisiting the books and am going through Book 4 Shadow Rising again. I have a couple of threads I'd like to start and was wondering : Where to place them? If something similar has already been started? So, without further ado, here are a couple of threads I think would be most eruditive, and also, ent…

Hey guys. I started with WoT about 9 years ago and after losing track a couple times I restarted about a year ago. So it's been a fairly long love affair when compared to...normal (?) readers. I finished book 14 about an hour ago so in order to fill that Void (harhar) I finally joined this site. I've come across it countless times when looking at fan art (always cool to see whether others imagine things the way I do). I didn't join because I figured everyone here would have finished the whole series and I'd find spoilers eveywhere...but looking at the site properly shows I wasn't in much danger anyway. How kind of people to respect other readers O.O . I guess I j…

Hi everyone! I first started this series when I was in high school. I am glad but sad at the same time that the series is now done. Over the years I have visited the site and enjoyed looking at the articles and theories about the various story arcs within the series. I've been himhawing all this time becoming a member since I feel like I'm already apart of so many groups already. I love reading fiction in general. This series, especially the last book, really had me going through all kinds of emotional roller coasters. I have not cried over too many books, but this series had me crying several times throughout the years. I recently discovered Jordan Con and wo…

Hey, My names Steve and im from Aus. I like long walks on the beach and holding hands. Finished the last book about a month ago,and im assuming like alot of you. Feeling unfulfilled. I read somewhere that Brandon might do a book just on Demandred? Just a rumour or possibly true? He also said something about not wanting to do another book in Jordans legacy as thats how he wanted it to end or something? But the battle! Wow, that was brilliant.

Have I not looked hard enough to find this question? It seems that everyone would think there was quite a bit missing at the end, the biggest being Thom's adventure to find Moiraine and Mat's exploits while losing his eye. slv (new member)

Hello all, I live in Georgia, US. I've been a long time fan of the site, but I've just now decided to jump into the foam pit of forums. I hope to spend some quality time talking to people, learning more about WOT, meeting people, and generally having a great time with other WOT fans. I'm currently in my freshman year of college, but I started reading the books in MIddle School and they've seen thorough re-readings throughout the years. I've come to cherish WOT as the best fantasy series in the world. An extremely close second though is David Eddings' Belgariad series. I'm a huge book lover, and a huge movie lover, and I consider myself somewhat of an amateur ex…

Howdy all! I just finished the series last month and sought for topic discussion with fellow WoT nerds :} My brother in law introduced me to the series last year and I started listening to the books in August or September, and so far, it's the best fantasy book series I ever read (probably becasue I've only read a few fantasy books in my life. I'm only eighteen). I'm a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson and excited about all the series he's working on/worked on, but Robert Jordan blew my mind with how in depth and satisfying his masterpeice was. Any suggestions on starting forum topics?

I started reading the series a few years back after a grudging hold out when multiple people who insisted this was the best series ever and I had to read it. Can anyone see why I resisted particularly when I started to realize the page count? Yes.... no.... anyone? Anyhow after I let go of my knee jerk reaction to resist this plus I finally found a ridiculous amount of free time on my hands. I started The Eye of the World and am now hopelessly hooked and have sunk many hours into this world as you can see by my being on a website devoted to it lol Unfortunately work got in the way and I had to take almost two years to focus on learning stuff for that and many things l…

Having never actually met or talked to another WoT fan, I was quite excited to see how many "new member" topics were in here. So many people to talk to about the WoT! I haven't managed to get a copy of New Spring yet, and I have not yet read AMoL because I don't want the series to end, but I've read all the others something like 12 times. I probably should have joined one of these sites sooner but I've never been one for joining forum websites - I am just going crazy without someone to talk about WoT with, and my friends (who don't read much of anything) are sick of hearing me spout the Old Tongue and ramble about the WoT world. Such Wheel of Time Very excitement M…

Oh hai, I guess this is where I introduce myself. [Chuckles awkwardly, coughs, shuffles papers] So...I'm pattonmat89. In real life, I'm (mumble mumble), and I am currently a sophomore at Georgia College and State University (For anyone everyone who doesn't know where that is, it's in Milledgeville, GA. Look it up on Google Maps.). I am a history major, with a particular interest in both military history and Middle Eastern history. When I go into the real world, I hope to work for the government, doing things that I won't be able to tell you about. In my spare time, I read, snark to myself, and collect too many books. I also hope that in the near future, I will …

Hello! I have been RPing in the WoT world since 2001, though somehow managed never to join DragonMount, so I have remedied that today! I will be (hopefully) finding the time to create a bio for a novice character (in between a busy teaching job!) and posting in other areas as well. I finally finished aMoL today, and it gave me the itch to get back into writing and discussing my favourite series!
