Hello everyone :). Ive been browsing around here for awhile and i like what i see so i decided to join. About 5 years ago i picked up New Spring at a yard sale. I considered it a very good read but i it tucked away on my shelf, not to be read for a long time. About 2 years ago i decided to re read it. Immediately after that i began searching at my local libraries for The Eye. I was hooked from then on. I have always been a huge fan of fantasy stories and books. Im an avid fan of LotR and im getting in rl salvatore. Anyways Im a huge fan of the WoT series. Ive never actually completed the series but Ive read to book 11 twice. The first time i reached book 11 and due to cir…

Hello everybody!!! After many years visiting this site and reading some news, I have finally decided to register and participate. I'm a fan of the Wheel of Time many years ago, and an active member of some spanish communities. I hope to recover here the feelings that made the Wheel of Time a part of my life.

Ah.. I am a long time fan of the series. Started reading it about 15 years ago and didnt finish because i started playing a text based mmorpg which put you in the the world of WoT. Then the wonderful world of adulthood took hold of me by the reigns. I have started over recently and im on book 5 now.. im not the fastest reader so i finish a book a week on my time off from my Telecom Techinician job and taking care of my two kids while my lazy wife sleeps all day and watches tv from her bed. Oops.. haha.. anyways i get lost in the WoT like im in some alternative dimension. Has kept me in better spirits these past 6 weeks. Gives me something to look forward to. I am a nerd…

May be your oldest member - my young friends have introduced me to The Wheel of Time !! One, gave me the whole set of books - was ever there an Elder so spoiled I prefer the company of younger people - others of my own age seem to be wrapped up in thoughts of SELF. There is no communication - no topic of conversation - I like the different "smilies" Hope I can add more to this

Hi. My name is John, i am a long time fantasy fan but have only recently been exposed to the wheel of time series. I'm actually reading The Eye of the World as i write this right now, so i'm very much a newcomer. But you can say i am a fan already. The writing is very good, but also simple and to the point, the descriptions are great and the characters are amongst the best in the genre. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series, and were it not that these books are massive in scope and scale i could be halfway done already. So, i figured that since a strong community has been formed around these books i'd jump in and enjoy the ride for what it's worth. After al…

Brand new to the forums but have been reading the series since the early 90's. Really looking forward to the WoT Encyclopedia which may be coming out later in 2014. Until then, I guess this community is the encyclopedia. Looks like the right place to get some questions answered.

Oh my goodness, I am so excited to find this forum! Does that make me a geek? Oh well, I don't care if it does. I love this series. I'm a freak and can read one of Robert Jordan's type of books in a day or so, so when I find a series of books with his quality of writing and with this length I am in Heaven! There aren't many out there that are this quality, individually each book is long, the series is long, the series is finished, and the series is of a great subject matter! When I started reading this series it wasn't finished but I didn't know that. I usually breeze through them and never go back to reading them over again because I have found that I usually get …

I'm an old man living in the past. Stopped reading the series after Crossroads... came out. Considering picking up where i left off. Without spoilers, does the series end satisfactorily? Also, anyone around remember WOTA from a decade ago?

Hey, I've been a big fan of the series for the last 10 years or so, ever since I recieved the third book as a gift. Funnily enough, it was the first book I read from the Wheel of Time, but to this day remains my favorite. Even though I didn't know a lot of things, and everything was hazy, but really good. Now if I think back, it reminds me of the game Dark Souls, where you are not given any information and just go with it, with new twists and turns at every corner. Since then I've bought and read almost all books (still have to order Memory of Light), and love the series. Thought I'd join the community to see if there's any news on new medai related to the game. Please ta…

G'day everyone, My Name is Liam. I've been reading WOT for about 2 years almost non stop since a friend of mine shoved a duffel bag in my hands which contained the entire series and insisted that i read it. Needless to say i was instantly hooked and am now halfway through my fourth re-read of the series (i kid you not). I came accross your site a while back as i was interested in the theories and simply did a google search. Even though i have gone through the series a few times i still love reading what people were coming up with as the series progressed, and im surprised at how many were so damn close! i was thinking of digging out specific theories later, or has s…

The title pretty much says it all. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my other, less nerdy and weird friends to read the series? I've tried but they always look at me like I'm insane. (Which I probably am)

Hi! I'm new here. I will tell how I found the forum, my name and how I discovered the WoT series. Well I was searching some pics and the site it was from was called dragonmount.com. I thought what is this? And went looking. Now I look more often and decided to make an account on dm. My name. Hmm. What is a good name. Hmmm. I will try the obvious names first. Aiel. Wait what? This name isn't used yet! I will take it! My father was reading the game of thrones books, but when he finished he had nothing to read. Then my mother told him about some newspaper article she read about a fantasy series called Wheel of Time. He began to read it. Then when we were on v…

Hello all. I am new to the site but not the books. I have read them all and loved every moment of them. I have also read the Sword of Truth and most of Brandon Sanderson's other stuff. I NEED MORE STUFF! For some reason I find it hard to find new books and movies/series that I would like without being pointed in the right direction by someone who has read or seen a lot of the stuff I like and can give it a good recommendation. Please help!

Hey guys! Jake here. Before I say anything - let me warn you, that I haven't fully read ANY WoT book. Yet. So I would very much appreciate spoiler-free comments :) After finally surfacing for air after the fantastic Mistborn trilogy (Brandon Sanderson) and before that, the Night Angel trilogy (Brent Weeks) I decided to take a stab at the Wheel of Time books. I'm only a little into the first book, but am really enjoying it so far. THAT ISN'T THE IMPORTANT PART. I need to do a dissertation at school - a comparative literary study of two books of my selection. Basically, I have to write an essay exploring the similarities/differences between two books, u…

Hi This seems like a really nice community you have going here! I'm in the middle of the first book and it's lonely reading it alone. Where should I post for general chat about the books, and remain relatively spoiler free? Thanks so much, Cheers, Salvatore

Greetings WoT fans. I am a newbie here and for the little time I have spent lurking on the forums I sense a DM obsession coming my way. I am 21 and from the Old continent and... wait for it... a Serial Re-Reader of The Wheel of Time (you didn't expect that twist, did you). I love computer games, puppies and tattoos (not on the puppies ) and I hope I find a lot of WoTists friends here + =

Hello everyone! I'm something of a... well, not really oldest of old school fans because I was like 5 years old when the Wheel of Time began, but I began reading the series in 2001 or 2002. I don't actually remember the year, but I know that I caught up with the translators midway through Lord of Chaos (the Finnish versions were published with each book chopped into two or three books - and the last part of the Finnish Lord of Chaos was released in 2002) and switched to English mid-book because I didn't want to wait. A good thing I did because as of last I checked, the verdict was still that the Sanderson books will not be getting translated. Which makes... all the se…

He opened his eyes but only a fraction, to see the muddy banks of the river staring back at him with a promise of smooth silky grass beyond. His head ached; an eruption of raw emotions hit him as he attempted to prop himself up on one elbow. What? Sodden trousers clung to his numb skin, the coat and breeches offering no protection against the evening wind. Have to find shelter. The thought ran through his mind but it felt distant, as if it wasn’t quite his own. With an effort, he flipped his unresponsive body around to flop on to his belly. Something dug into his ribs as he turned and his hand caught the scabbard of the steel long sword strapped to his waist. A sword? Why…

Hi! Both to the oldies that have been here forever (Hi!!!), and to the 'newbies' who I haven't met yet/have joined since I left! I'm Cass! Back in the day (starting around '99 ish ) I was known IC as: Calia Luin (White Tower Accepted, Aspiring to the Green) Shem Luin (Warder/Bonded to Kaylan Morin, one of two very mischievous twins) and Eb (BotRH - Angry, scowling, knife-wielding Infantry chick) So I guess I'm not exactly new to DM, and it's definitely cool to be back and reading over some of the old threads (ahh! Memories!) but it's also been so long I feel kinda lost looking around this DM! ... and old - I feel very, very old! So many things seem to have chang…

Hi all. I'm new to dragon mount but to the fabulous Wheel of Time books. I've read them all twice and some more than that, and each time I learn something new. On the first read I mostly skipped the prologue in the first book and came back to it later when it made more sense. However I think that skipping it the first time made me prone to not take it all in on subsequent read, because today I read that first prologue once again, and it doesn't quite add up for me. So I sort of hoped someone could put me right. The issue for me is that Lews Therin Telamon and the 100 companions sealed the Dark One and the Forsaken in the bore, and then the Dark One released the tain…

Hi. It feels a bit presumptious to start a thread wholly about myself but... er, here goes! I am quite new to Dragonmount and organized WoT fandom in general, although I did read wotmania a couple years back. I really miss the humor section. I printed out those Rejected Sword Forms and taped them inside my high school locker to crack myself up between classes. I first heard of WoT through my best friend in the 5th grade, who was a way more mature reader than I was. At lunch she would read me passages of LotR that she found hilarious (mostly about Aragorn yelling and waving his sword about at opportune moments). I remember she mentioned reading a book where the mai…
