Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by SundayDrunkPeddler,

Imagine my surprise, I was introduced to this series back in the early 90's by a good friend. I fell in love with the stories, the characters, and the desire for the next book. Then, I never met another person who had even heard of the books until a couple years ago. He told me about this site and, never being one for computer networking, only just registered. I have read many of the posts, forums, and blogs and you guys are awesome. It feels great to know there are people out there that appreciate this tremendous work of literature. Honestly, I think when I finish AMoL, I will be ruined for other books. No other series has been so complete. Full characters, distic…

Greetings one and all! I need some confirmation or information regarding the above topic. My memory is a bit sketchy at best but i do remember readings in one of the latter books about Rand holding Calandor with the hand that was damaged. Min saw this as a hand on onix, could this hand be a terangreal?

Hello. It's funny really, how I stumbled upon this series. You see, there was a cage match awhile a go, I'm a big fan of Brent Weeks, and Kylar Stern went up against Moiraine Damodred in the final round. Kylar lost, mainly due to how big the fanbase WOT had. After I heard of the character in the match, I went to go read the books, after all, you need to know what your talking about when debating a point, otherwise you look like an idiot. Now, I'm still of the opinion that Kylar would have won the match, as magic simply does not work on him. Period. It simply makes him stronger. Anyway, despite my slight annoyance that Kylar lost, I am still a fan of WOT, it's a good story…

Hi, I'm Tyler. To be quite honest, I'm not exactly sure I chose the right time to join this forum, as I'm kind of a new member, and I haven't even read up to ToM yet. And considering the big one is coming out soon, it'll be likely I'll avoid this site like the plague from the moment it does come out up until I get a chance to read it, for spoilers sake. But until then, Hi! Anyway, I actually read EotW a year or so ago, and I remember really enjoying it, but not continuing for some reason. Probably because I didn't have enough time on my hands. Nonetheless, a few months ago I picked up book one again and reread it. Now I'm currently reading through the entire s…

I have started reading the series some 8 years ago i think. Somehow I never got around to registering on the forums, although these are my favourite books by far, and i think i reread all of them at least several times. I guess it's because series are coming to an end, and I want to share my thoughts about it all.

Hello everyone, I just found these books a year ago after finishing another series and have been stoked to start reading everytime i sat down. Just caught up to where we all are for the first time, waiting for AMoL, I have been to DM almost the entire time I've been reading the series although I only signed up today. Usually I'd just mind graze, my favorite place to do so is Fan Art Friday, any suggestions on how to get more involved is appreciated. In Rand land I'd definetly be a drinking soilder (as is my actuall life), hence my username and i really like the parallels the Band has to Irish history. Thanks

  8. Started by Ghost,

I'm a bit of an Egwene hater. Anyway, I got into the series over the summer after I caught up with my reading for A Song of Ice and Fire. A friend recommended Wheel of Time and I've been very busy reading since June lol. Can't wait for the finale!

Hello everyone! My name is Michael and I'm a pretty big WoT fan. Obviously, I can't say too big as I haven't done 17 proper rereads like many fans, but I do really love the series all the same. Once I had finally got caught up with the series shortly after the release of the last novel I was so excited to finally be able to read and interact with people about WoT online without worring about spoilers. Oddly enough despite having Dragonmount on Twitter and wishing very much to be able to go to a Dragoncon, I totally overlooked the site! Well, here I finally am! I'm from Canada but recently started my PhD in the UK. I need to get all caught up with the series again befo…

I've been a long time lurker of this board, particularly the "Ask a Simple Question" thread in the General WoT Forum. Decided to finally join and start posting in preparation for AMoL during my current re-read. Looking forward to posting here.

Another new one here. I've spent the best part of ten years immersing myself in this series. Don't want it to end! I'm reading the books again for the millionth time. Love it.

  13. Started by pskarnaq,

Been reading WoT since EoTW was a new book. Still have my original copy that I bought when I was 15. Aint braggin, just sayin I have loved this story for a looong time. Hopefully I can add some meaningful dialogue to the discussions around here. But I'll settle for just arguing endlessly about minor plot points that have little to do with the over-all arc. See? I'm easy...

  14. I got a late start to this amazingly creative and totally addicting series. I started back in 2000, and I was instantly hooked! I've read and re-read these books, sometimes 4 or 5 times because they are the very best kind of world and characters that I want to lose myself in. Now that the final book will be out in a little over 2 months( Yay!!!), I'm giving all the books a last read so I'll be ready for A Memory of Light! It's really cool to talk to people who are geeking out over this just like me! I'm on the first one, and it's one of my favorite moments where Perrin realizes he can communicate with the wolves and it really shapes who he turns into. Which is pretty awe…

Hello!, Thanks for taking the time to read my Hello. Well first off, I'm very new to the WoT series, well, i just started actually still on tEotW (I think thats how i read you abbreviate it.) so i thought i would come here and share my experiences with each book. About Me Well, I'm 13, a total Computer/Gaming Nerd, and of course I love reading my favorite genre is Fantasy, but i really enjoy horror books as well my favorite fantasy authors are Christopher Paolini, Tolkien, Jordan (Even though im not even halfway through the first book i love it!, So im going to put his name there.) and countless other's those are just my absolute favorites. Now to horror books and o…

  18. Or else Hello Everybody. I'm new here, and new in world of the Wheel. I'm just going through New Spring from which I begun reading of TWoT, so propably next few months I won't be really active user. So on I'm definitely optymistic, maybe middle part of Moiraine Tower action was bit slow, I would gladly read something more about end of Aiel war from Lan perspective, but magnitude of the world and problems are really, really great. And beside tWoT part, I'm 25, from Poland, Roman Catholic, paleontology student and fantasy addict. See you!

Hi, I've just joined this site today and have never joined a fan site before. I don't even have facebook. I know, how weird is that? Anyway, I was reading some of the theories and I thought I'd like to chip in some of my own thoughts as I've read these books multiple times since I discovered them 13 years ago. It's good to know there are other people who love this series of books just as much as I do.

Hello everyone! I started reading WoT this August. I must say that I really like it. I'm currently reading The Path of Daggers. I joined here because I don't have anyone to talk to about it. Currently, I like Mat the most of the character, with all the things happening around him. I also like the part with Perrin when he is with the wolves, I just like wolves i guess. I wish I could befriend one someday. Well, once again, hello everyone!

I've been lurking on this site and others for quite awhile, and I thought it was about damn time that I joined the forum and introduced myself! I'm a 29 year old systems admin, residing in the crushing mass of humanity known as New York City. I started reading The Wheel of Time series in 1998 as an alternative to doing homework, much to my parents chagrin. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't really start reading the series with gusto until relatively recently (2-3 years ago) but the series has always been a staple in my life. I've often wondered what'll happen to my morning and evening commutes when I don't have A Wheel of Time book to read. I'm currently half …

Hello everyone ! I discovered the wheel of time three years ago and just finiched my first reading (i just had the time to reread some sequences with my favorite character). This is also a good way to improve my english... And i like to share the excitement of the waiting ! I think the wheel of time is a very good fantasy book, interesting in many ways, and i enjoy reading your differents point of views and theories in dragonmount !

I should say hi? I just started an account and posted in the 4th-1st Age thread over on the AMoL spoiler forums... I was surprised too, as I considered myself a devout lurker for the rest of my days... Haven't really been a posting member of an online community since the glory days of TelevisionWithoutPity, when I was way into BSG and Smallville and being right... But this has been my lurkdom of choice for most of the past year. So I guess I'm gonna hop on in for the stretch run. So who is this BigKev47 guy, you're asking? I'm a guy, I'm 30, I'm a writer by vocation, and soon to be a forklift dealership manager by trade... I dig economics, DC comic books, vinyl…

Hello everyone, I'm Dan from NJ. I hesitated joining any WoT community until I finished all the books(except for Memory of Light of course) just to avoid any unfortunate spoilers. I took about a year of my life and enjoyed every minute(well ya know..minus a few hundred pages). I hope to learn and have some input here with fellow fans.

Hello! I'm new to DM and thought I'd say hi. Today would be Jordan's birthday and I wanted to put together a compilation in honor of him. I used a song by the band Blind Guardian, who based 2 songs that I know of off the Wheel of Time series. Please let me know what you think. I put the video together but do not claim rights to the song or images other then the logo at the end. Thank You, Varrant

Greetings to all WoT fans. A friend recommended I read the WoT series years ago, but I only got my hands on the books recently during a deployment to Afghanistan. I have been reading the series straight through ever since (now on Winter's Heart). I found these forums a couple of months ago and lurked a bit before deciding to go ahead and join. I participate in several medieval-ish hobbies and enjoy living the simple life while camping. Looking forward to sharing experiences with all of you. Aeryk
