Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by ickis_87,

hello everyone I've just recently joined this site, I've been reading the WoT series now for about 5 years. and thats because they're the first thing I've actually been engrossed in. . currently just started KoD and I'm not looking foreward to the series ending (hense why the last 3 years I've been reading less than a book a year) I'd quite happily just continue reading the story even if it was dragged out for the next 50 years!

  2. Started by memsurs,

New here. I wanted to get involved in the theory world somewhat since I noticed some interesting (at least to me) things during my latest re-listen.

Hello everyone. Im new here, havent read the books but theyre on my To-Do List and have been for years. Ive tried many times but it appears I lose my page often and just dont want to start from the beginning. I intend to undertake reading all of the books before the new one comes out in January but I have no idea how thatll turn out. Im kind of hoping for a huge party much like the final Harry Potter book but now that I think of it I dont think bookstores do that anymore. Anyway, how is everyone doing?

Hi guys, I've been reading WoT since 2002. I'm just finishing up a re-read of the entire series in preparation for AMoL. After having read enough of other people's discussions, I have decided it's high time to get involved myself! -Roo

just finished book 13 today and only came looking for details on number 14 ,i think this site might be Ta'veren.

  6. Started by Leafy,

I'm a girl who has been hooked on the Wheel of Time series ever since I read New Spring, and then made my way through the other eleven books released at that time and waiting with bated breath for The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight, and of course, A Memory of Light. A little about me: I'm fairly young by the standards of the people who have been following the series from its start, and even for a time thought myself the youngest, but I've come to realize there are others like me, and it's actually rather comforting to know I'm not alone . I love reading (though I've never been as into a series to the point that I will reread and reread it like WOT), though I pref…

not sure if I am doing this right, I have been around since the first print of EoW, but new to the puter. I am not quite sure what I am supposed to be writing here, but I guess anything is better than nothing? can anyone point me in the direction of other artists or art students, I am a student myself at the Art Institute of CA, Sacramento, majoring in Media Art and Animation. I am a serious Fantasy Fiction Fan, started with Tolkien went to Fritz Leiber, then to McCaffrey. This was all before highschool, there I really started getting into d&d and reading the dragonLance novels, kind of a backwards step but I loved the simplicity of the stories. It was during high…

  9. Im an 30 yr old Asian male confined to a chair for 8 years because a drunk driver hit my family van one afternoon. I find the Internet t and the various chat rooms are therapy for my arms which do not have full motion yet after all this time. I say this not for your pity or anything else, but recent personal remarks have made me think I should explain myself, not that anyone deserves it anyWay. I have a up crass sense of humor that I hope does not offend, but imguess it's because i don't get out much. I just stay at home until someone takes me places. The Internet is my window to the world.

  10. /overdramatic Hi, I'm Zewe. 23/male/Los Angeles Read WoT for the first time when I was 10-11 or so and since then I've read and reread the whole damn thing dozens and dozens of times and I still learn new things with each go. Not interested in fantasy or anything outside of this series, but nonetheless, I love these books more than I can ever hope to put into words, and they've been something of an (unhealthy) obsession for over a decade now. Finally got around to making a DM forums account today, though I've been e-living vicariously through several of you for ages now. And with that: Hello new friends.

Greetings all. I've been aware of Dragonmount for a while but never paid it much attention. A short while ago I stopped by here to find a release date for the last book and got sucked into the "It Works In Theory..." blog. I got into the Wheel of Time around 2000-2001. I'd say it's probably my favorite series, although it probably shares that title with Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Honestly I'm not sure why I created an account. I don't feel a particular need to discuss the books, but I'm here now so perhaps I will. I make electronic music, mostly psytrance and a little downtempo. I wrote a song once I titled "The Karaethon Cycle", and later I re-wrot…

I was a member of the old WOT site back in 2005; I started reading Jordan around 91 or 92, not sure. Back then Trollocks were almost invincible, The Ways were the newest thing, Moiraine was alive, and I don't think we ever heard of the Black Ajah. I kept up with it all until around book 11 and then I abandoned the series (sigh..). I loved the WOT site and used to check in everyday as 'KimchiSedai'. I did a random check in a few years ago and saw that WOT had folded and DM was the best place to catch up on WOT. I'm ready to rejoin the fold and continue on with the series with a few reservations; is the series as good as the first few books? I'd love to hear from some of yo…

  13. Hello! My name is Estrella, and I've been reading this series since...I was in 6th grade, I think. I'm only 19 now, so I doubt that's as long as some people here, but it's been my favorite series ever since I picked up the EOTW (I spent all of 7th grade math class trying to teach myself to embrace the Source) and a remarkably influential one on me as well. I've been in many other online fandoms, over the years, but for some reason never thought to look for a WoT community until a few weeks ago when I decided to re-read the entire series in preparation for AMoL this upcoming January. I'm onto Towers of Midnight now (embarrassingly enough, I don't think I ever finished …

  14. I am fairly new to this. I have to say, I am glad that I waited until last year to start reading the whole series. Don't know how anyone did it, having to wait a couple of years for the next book. I was told about it years ago, but never got into it. When I stated with EOTW, I was hooked, though and have read it twice, now, in anticipation of AMOL. Will start listening to the books on CD now. One of the things about WOT that I like is the fact that it inspired me to write, and come up with my own world. Did not realize how much I enjoyed writing until then. Don't know that my writing will ever get published and don't care. Has anyone else been inspired to write? …

Disclaimer: I like to write; and this is pretty long. TL;DR at the bottom An excerpt from a page found pinned to the deceased, suspected Darkfriend, for your review... Can an assassin have honor? My life has been, and probably will continue to be, spent in the pursuit of that question. Widely-held, rigid concepts of what honor is have seen many a man clad in plated armor to an early grave. Lines of fools, spending their lives frivolously, cheaply, in honorable battle against a common foe. Well perhaps my honor finds its own brand of hypocrisy. Perhaps not... I always have been able to see situations from many different perspectives. While the warriors of our a…

Only just discovered Dragonmount, after finishing the latest book a few weeks ago. Started this series years ago as a 13 year old wandering the library bookshelves - and have been a loyal (if somewhat lazy) follower of Rand is sometime-merry, oft-quirky band ever since. This is also the first forum/thread/post-thing that I've ever done, so if I've misplaced to mistyped, excuse me. Excited to dweeb out here with all y'all!

Hello all, I'm new in Dragonmount. I've read whole WoT during one year, and I wait for the last book eagerly. This is the best fantasy series I have ever read. I live in Finland, and so I am a Finn! I am also fairly young, so my English isn't perfect, but I trust it's quite good. That's all I have to say. I hope you welcome me here!

Hi, I am Ms_Fish and yes I am a guy despite the Ms_ prefix, so don't make that mistake :P I am from the land down under, and despite popular belief we do NOT ride kangaroos to school. (That does sound fun though) Its just so amazing to find a community dedicated to something I love so much. I love the the Wheel of Time its my favourite book series ever! I began reading it almost 1 or 2 years ago and haven't been able to put them down since. January 8th can't get here fast enough. So hello to all the fellow Wheel of Timers! P.s I love Minecraft as well.

Hi! New fan and new member, currently on book 8 of the series, recommended to the site by my good friend the Bard Babe! Looking forward to rping, and having a great time with all of the WoT fans out there! Big fan of sci-fi and fantasy (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Dr Who, Lord of the Rings), books of most kinds, architechture, trees and history!

I read Eye of the world around 2000 and only got as far as ACOS and because of life taking over I stopped. I now am re-reading the series and am really enjoying it. I think it's been an advantage to have read the first few books several times and starting over years later because for me every time I re-read the series I glean something new from them. I catch details missed in the past. I am glad to be a part of this community. Rodney

  27. Started by Shomra,

At some point, I will make that a group in a story. I was having trouble choosing a profile name, since all the good ones were already gone. I finally just tried whatever funny word next popped into my head. When I googled shomra, it shows up as a Hebrew word. In the beginning of Genesis when God commands all humans to become environmentalists (some people don't seem to actually understand that passage), the Hebrew actually uses the word shomra which sort of means guardian. Anyway, funny names aside, I started reading WoT from the first book back in 1990. It's been a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng wait. Favorite character: Mat (that seems pretty common actually) Least …

  28. How's it going everyone? Names Mike, you can call me that or Deviant, whichever you prefer. I've lurked these boards a few times while on a WOT kick and thought that, this time, it might be nice to be able to join in on some of the conversations. I haven't been reading WOT very long in comparison with some of you (only 4 years) and I'm currently only on my second read of the series. I'll probably catch flack for this but I was turned on to the series during a fit of "post Potter depression" in 2008, so if there are any other Harry Potter fans here we'd probably get along. Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself. If anyone wants to know something just ask. …

Hi I'm Roo, I had no idea Dragonmount was here but I'm glad I've found it! I've read every one of the WoT books and while I'm waiting for the last one I've started again, I read New Spring and Eye of the World and now I'm halfway through The Great Hunt. I'd forgotten how good they were! I'm a huge fan of the series and its great to find some like minded people :) Cheers, Roo
