Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by spoonfish,

I've been coming to this site for a couple of years, but didn't decide to join the forum until now. I started reading the WOT series in fifth grade... just couldn't put it down. I'm really looking forward to the conclusion of the series. Any chance they do more later on? Anyways... I look forward to good conversations/debates in the future.

  3. Started by Topher,

I first read The Eye of the World waaaaaay back in junior high and I've loved the series since then. While it has been some time since I've read the early books I'll be starting the reread this weekend and I'm looking forward to it. I don't believe I've ever been a member here for some reason, but I did hang out in #tarvalon on EF Net back in the day if anyone else remembers that. :-) Anyway! It's good to be here and I look forward to meeting everyone and becoming an active member of the community!

  4. Started by Tyler Aybara,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum and say hello. Just started the series about a month ago so I'm only on book 5 but reading hard so I can jump in on some of the end of the series discussions. (Can't believe it took me so long to find this series!) I look forward to posting and discussing WoT with all of you!

  5. Started by Silvaire,

Long time lurker, decided to register properly for the end of the series discussions. Used to play and help run a large Wheel of Time RP MUD back in the day (wow ~15 years ago). WOT used to take up a big part of my hobby time (used to love checking out all the theories posted on the dominant websites back then) and so I was really good at remembering all the little subplots and events in the books. Unfortunately as I got older, I found it hard to remember most things and so now I rely on the good folks in this forum and wikipedia to keep up.

  6. Started by Johnnie Barnes,

Just made account, am new to both dm here and mostly new to the wot series in general. I head of the series from a friend about 3 months ago and he gave me a flash drive with all the audio books. Well i started listening to them on my deliveries at work and am now currently on my fourth listening of the books really like the series and kind of just bouncing around the site not really sure where to start.

Hi all! I'm kind of new here - I made my profile about a year ago but never started posting and kind of forgot about it! I've been reading these books since my brother gave me the first one for Christmas when I was in 7th grade - I have been reading these books for 11 or 12 years now :) I have re-read the entire series countless times, I tend to do before each new book comes out, and then whenever I'm bored in between. The books almost feel like a part of me - I can't decide if I'm excited to reach the end and find out what happens or sad that it will all be over. Anyway, I love reading everyone's theories on here, and I'm usually impressed by the level of insigh…

Evening... or morning where ever you are. So I'm new to this online stuff, but started reading the books about 3-4 years back. And am now re-reading them, simply because I though it would be a good idea. Other than that there isn't much else to say. Feel free to talk. Bleh...

  9. Started by Saluki,

Greetings. I recently finished reading all thirteen books. They lasted for 134 days, not counting the few days off, for what I estimate to be around 450 hours. It was incredible. It is incredible. When going from one book to the next without pause, the momentum of the story just kept building. Wow. There is so much to think about. I have never eperienced entertainment to this level. There were numerous moments when I would look up from the pages, awestruck by the sheer creation of it all. Twelve years ago my brother introduced me to the series and I read the first nine books. I really liked them, but I was too young to really take it all in and find entertainment in a…

Hi everyone Pretty new to the forum stuff but it looks like a lot of fun albeit a little hard to navigate.. Love the books but haven't finished them yet I'm lagging behind a bit in book 10. I really like the changes the characters make and the way the story is told through different perspectives. I'm a fan of Matt (love luck characters) Nynaeve and her powerful healing abilities, also Birgitte because shes an archer and her personality is great, pretty much all the characters really! Looking forward to meeting people and having a chat. Bye for Now!

“The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, and we are only the thread of the Pattern.” Good Evening, servants of the ever-turning serpent. Robert Jordan is one my favourite writers, and the Wheel of Time Series was one of the books that introduced me to true fictional fantasy. You will find me roaming this forum for now, being very, very new! Long live Goldeneyes!

  14. Started by Cyurasan,

...or a new thread in the forum? *offers a hand to whoever's reading this* Anyway, pleased to meet you, the name's Cyura (pronounced as sai-you-rah), and I've been a fan of WoT since 2007. (It was depressing to find out that the author died a couple of months after starting to read the series.) I'm currently re-reading the series before I touch The Gathering Storm, and the books after that. (I didn't have the guts to read the books completed by Sanderson, but I now think the need to know the rest of the story is more important.) (BTW, my favourite character is Min, just because the stuff she says really makes me go "How will that symbol manifest in the sto…

  16. Started by Sean Foster,

Hello everyone, my name is Sean and I love WoT! I started reading Eye of the World with the free sample book (first few chapters) back in the day. I barely started Crossroads of Twilight some years ago when I put the book down and didn't pick it up again. I decided to start reading the series again as I heard that the final book is coming out. I just started "The Dragon Reborn" today, and it's been great reliving all the epic moments. One of my favorite moments in the whole series is the end of "The Great Hunt" when Mat blows the Horn and Artur Hawkwing is just talking to Rand addressing him as Lews Therin like it's of no consequence. Really looking forward t…

Hiya everyone! Just thought I'd post up and introduce myself! I just finished reading Towers of Midnight and about to do a re-read, but I'm counting on Dragonmount to help out with new material withdrawal symptoms. A few quick things, Lan is my favourite character, although Mat is amazing and Talmanes makes me laugh all the time. Moiraine is amazing also and I'm very glad that she's come back, as my favourites have a tendency to die on me. See you all on the forums!

Hello everyone! My name is Sandip (sun-deep) Mehta. I love the Wheel Of Time! I have been reading and re-reading the greatest story ever written since I was 18 years old, more than twenty years ago now. I am constantly amazed at discovering new detail and plot foreshadowing placed in the early books. RJ is brilliant. Recently, I have been enjoying the WoT unabridged audiobooks. Over 4000 tracks in iTunes lovingly placed (all the tracks needed renaming!) for listening on my iPhone. I am attending JordonCon. I am looking forward to meeting many other fans! I also won the AMoL character auction on eBay last fall :-) warmly, sandip (mehtaXephon)

My husband started listening to New Spring in the car on the way into work and got me hooked. So that was Aug 2011 and we are still listening. Great series so far and I'm amazed by how many people post here daily! I passed up my husband and I'm now on Crossroads of Twilight. It's a little hard to keep all of the stories straight (thanks for this site and others for helping me out) and the characters, but I'm hooked to the series.

Hi everyone!I'm new to the forum!! I once bought a box filled with old books and in it, I found the great hunt, which is the 2nd book in the series!! I am only on page 15 right now, and I don't understand some parts that well, yet because I never read the first book. Its a REALLY Cool! book and I am totally hooked on. There are just a few questions I want to ask you about the wheel of time!! Do you think I should stop reading the 2nd book and read the first book? Or do you think I should finish the 2nd book and move on to the 3rd book? Or do you think I should read the 1st book after the 2nd book? Or do you think I should read the books in the mixed up order that I…

Ask anything you want! :) Edit: Sure wasn't I being very ignorant, not telling you about myself! I am 18, from Ireland. On the 9th book. I have a love/hate relationship with the books I guess. It's like a little brother, they have a lot of things that annoy you but you love them anyway haha I love music, play guitar in a band, write my own material and hope to do production in college next year!

  27. Started by Brandie,

Greetings, My name is Brandie and I am in love with the Wheel of Time series. The world that Robert Jordan created is a world I would love to live in. If I lived in that world, I would love to be an Aes Sedai (of the Green Ajah), but if I couldn't channel then I would totally be a Maiden of the Spear. I listened to the audiobooks so I'm not so great at all of the spellings but I will try to get it right. I've never been on a site like this before and don't really know what to do but I have been following the site for a while now and am looking forward to conversing with others who are as crazy about this series as I am :D May you always find water and shade, B…

Ahh... I think I just heard the sirens going off. So, HI. After creeping around the site, reading stuff and thinking, "I should use my brain to comment on that!" (and then not doing that) I've finally decided to put my big-girl pants on and join the awesomeness :) (Are smileys permitted? I don't want someone to read this post and go, "DAMN NOOB!" and hate on my smiley. And now I don't want someone to read my previous sentence and go, "DAMN INSECURE NOOB!" and hate on my insecurity. Oh man, I am now firmly entrenched in an endless self-doubting loop. I'm leaving now. Probably forever. Or at least a few hours)

  29. *knock knock* Anyone home? I wonder how many remember me from way back in the day. Hoho I though I'd finally drag my old self back here to check. I might..or prolly start a new character here again. As I'm feeling the taste of wheel of time again. Anyho, welcome everyone new here..and hopefully some old ones still linger :) Have fun, and see ya around.

So far I'm liking the creativity in a lot of posts here as well as some interesting theories about the books. Looking forward to meeting you -X
