Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

Hello I am Angelea. I am right now halfway through The Fires of Heaven on my third reading of the series. It's just as good as the first time, although I find myself looking at the characters in a totally different way. However, I am filled with dread and anxiety thinking about the capture of Rand by the Reds. It was so traumatic the first time! I have been wanting to join Dragonmount for a couple of years, and now that my youngest girl is almost fifteen, I have a bit more time. Hello to all and I hope we can have many interesting discussions. No one I know has read the series, and it's hard to convince them that it is a pleasure not a task. Please let me know if I am …

Hi members of Dragonmount! (bows) I'm pretty new, definitely a newbie in WoT, and I've just finished "The Dragon reborn". I really love this story, and I'm glad it is so long! I hope you will excuse my bad English and be quite patient, I am italian and promise to do my best to avoid mistakes! I just adore dragons and Khisanth is the name of a she-dragon in an other fantasy book (challenge: who will be the first to guess? no google, please) My age is 30 and I live in Bologna. Lots of kisses, Khisanth

Hey guys! I feel bad for polluting this with another thread, so sorry if I'm stepping on toes! I'm an American living in Europe, it started out as an exchange program, but they treat students so well here I decided to stay :). I found out about the WoT series almost a decade ago through an MSN chat group (The Sedai Treehouse) and didn't really give it much thought at the time, just had fun getting to know folks when chatrooms were still a new thing. I was a young nerd and it was nice to have a refuge back then :P. I didn't even start reading the series until July of this year, fell in love with it and blew through the first 10 books in like 4 months. classes s…

I'm currently reading Winter's Heart. While I was enjoying this this overdose of epic-ness; I thought to myself i must have a place that will allow me to rant rave about this great and epic journey AKA The Wheel of Time. I thank Robert Jordan, may he rest in peace, for providing such a treasure of adventures and wisdom. With that said, I'd like to say hello to everyone and introduce myself: so Hi; My name is Luis, born in Dominincan Republic, and currently living in the US. I call both places home and wouldn't trade one or the other. i love reading and will read pretty much anything that sparks my interest. I just happened upon the Wheel of Time series earlier…

Hello all! My name is Aishra and I (obviously) love the wheel of time. Ok, so maybe I'm a little obsessed but I feel like I'm in the right company, yes? Anyway, I am a bit of an RPer and I actually have written up a character that I will be submitting relatively soon. I've been RPing for the last.. oh.. five years or so on another forum, so I hope I can contribute good things to this site ^.^ May the light shine on you all Aishra

  6. Greetings, all. I started reading the Wheel of Time three years ago - as I am a fast reader, I finished the series within about two months. After I finished the second book I knew that it was the best series ever written by anyone anywhere. I felt a stronger connection to the characters and world of Jordan's than I have to any of the myriad worlds I, as a fantasy enthusiast, have explored over the past few years. Anyway, due to my senior years of high-school ensuing in the past two years, (which, by the way, were almost as bad as being a novice in the White Tower), I haven't had the time to re-read the series in full, but I am doing it now (as I've finished my exams -…

Hello everyone. I'm brand new to the Dragonmount forum, though I have been a visitor for many years. I first started reading the Wheel of Time books about 15 years ago and have loved them ever since. I've read a lot of fantasy/sci-fi books over the years and I really dont think many others come close. I re-read the whole series at least once a year and still love it. Thanks. P.S. Im from England.

  8. Started by morning mist,

I am fairly new to the site, but have been reading the series for most of the last ten years when a friend loaned me EotW. Perrin and Egwene are my favorite characters, Perrin for the wolves , and Egwene for the growth she has shown while remaining true to the girl she was before leaving Emond's Field. Asmodean is my favorite of the Forsaken because of his help to Rand in learning to channel. The Whitecloaks and Seanchan just irritate me. Well, I don't really know what else to add so I will wait for questions from everyone else. (I really like the emoticons too )

hi I hate to make an introductory post that's mainly just a question but I'm not really sure where else this sort of thing would be appropriate so...here I am! anyways my question I was wondering if anyone could possibly direct me to somewhere on the internet where there's a lot of WoT fanart? I've found a little bit on my own on DeviantArt and a little via google but most of the directories on google seem really old and most of the places they link to no longer exist mainly I really would like to save some of the art I saw on wot.wikia but it saves as firefox documents anyways yeah I realize this wasn't a terribly good introduction so uhhh if for some reason …

Hello Dragonmount! I have recently found out that I love Fantasy books , I never read any fantasy stories before. But after watching a Game of Thrones on HBO, I picked up the rest of the books and loved them. A couple of months ago I asked at the book store if they could point me to any other long in depth fantasy books like a Game of Thrones, I bought the first one finished it in a week and loved it, went back and got the rest. That was expensive, so I figure this stuff really is a bit like crack. I have read up to the 9th book so far, I start it when I get home tonight! I was looking for Wheel of Time stuff online a few weeks ago and found this site (which i…

HELLO, and may the Light bless all you WoT fans and all the rest. "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come to pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again." Can't wait to read these lines in aMoL. I'm sure, there couldn't have been a better place to start sharing my views, raising unanswered questions and discussing thoughts, other than under the appeasing coolness of DragonMount. Looking forward to a warm welcome from all my fellow WoT fans... So, as Mat would say...'Let's roll the dice'. (applause :-D )

How-do, DM'ers. I'm a returning member, I guess, and as much as I would enjoy being a returning chthonic god, I feel more like Methuselah blinking stupidly in the morning sun. I was an active member at Dragonmount in the days of yore when it was still hosted on the Proboard system. This must have been '99 or '00 or so and I had a few different characters that I played then. This handle *points* was my Asha'man character but it's doubtful I'll revive him for RP. Since introductions involve personal gestures, I found a battered copy of the Eye of the World in a dusty free-books bin while still in high school. I had just finished Tolkien's trilogy and was muddling m…

Hello Fans of WOT I am sure I am joined by many who eagerly await the next and final novel. I have read some really great posts on a few websites and of course it spurned a couple of questions of my own. Does anyone think the last novel will reveal to Rand and Galad the fact that they have the same birth mother? Do you think the Tinkers and consequently the Aiel will find The Song they have been searching for & in so doing reunite the split people. Is this a way to avoid the possible future shown to Aviendha thru the arcs? Aiel Prophecy “It says we will be changed, and find again what was ours, and was lost.” Thanks to all that reply....

Finally...after 21 years of reading RJ's masterpiece I have joined the premier forum for those of us who cannot get enough of the Wheel of Time. I bought the first edition of the first book while I was out to sea (Merchant Marine and Navy officer) and it has since fallen apart from the number of re-reads. I have been reading the Dragonmount forums for years as well and finally decided to join. Why now? Well - I have just recently started listening to a bunch of Foo Fighters music (call it a mid-life crisis) and when I heard "The Pretender" and read the lyrics, I immediately thought of Rand! If I did not know better I would think the Foo Fighters wrote that song for R…

Hi everyone, pretty old fan of the series, had the books sitting in storage for a long while, just recently got them out again, and reading them with the mindset of a 22 year old rather than a 15 (maybe) year old, has made me appreciate them so much more, only problem with the books is no one i know reads them D: So its nice to find a community dedicated to what i consider the best fantasy epic ever written, anyway, cheers guys!

Hello everyone. I am currently on my first re-read of tWoT series I just happened across DM on twitter a little while back and thought I should actually join. A little bit about me, I am currently working on writing my own book, I just came up with a title for it and a series title if I continue after the first book. The book will be called Fire of Life, and the series The Phoenix Chronicle (if I continue it). If you're interested in updates look me up on twitter @gkellauthor. As far as Wheel of time goes, my favorite female characters are Moiraine and Min (as tWoTcast would say Min could get it), and favorite male character would have to be Matt. I look forwa…

Hi! Just got on here for the first time tonight. I love the Wheel of Time books! My favorite characters are Min and Matt. I like Min because she is most like me and Matt because of his carefree luck. It's in my goals to learn Maiden handtalk then I could say what I want without having anyone know what I am really implying!!! So, I guess that's it for now. Thanks Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson for writing the most epic books ever!!!!
