As I said . . . Hi there! I'm a new WoT reader. I'm trying to balance my desire to know more and more about this world and read other people's thoughts on it, and my efforts to avoid too many spoilers. So far, I've more or less failed at the latter, but I've still been enjoying the books a lot, and don't feel guilty at all over having skimmed over the second half of book 9 to see what happens next before going back and reading it properly. Yes, I'm bad like that. Anyway, I can't say I'm a real fan of the series, because there are things about it that I don't like and things that disappoint me, but there are also many things I love, one of them being how unique and…

Just wanted to do as the topic says and introduce myself! I'm Mescorpio, I've been reading WoT for over a decade, I've met RJ, Branderson, and Harriet (and made a fool of myself in front of each I'm sure) and I'm handsome. Depending on who you ask. And who I've bribed. I've met more than one person from Dragonmount at more than one book signing, and figured I'd finally let myself get sucked in. Therefore: Hi! M

hello everybody!! fellow WoT nut here. just popping in to say hi and to let every1 know to look out for some posts and theories from me in the near future. but for now id just like to say a few things. firstly, i know its past time to be saying this, i have only just signed up to this site and only started reading the books 18/19months ago, but id like to pass on my sympathies to all Robert Jordans family and friends after his death. its a great loss to all his fans of the series but to those who knew him most of all. i have only read his WoT books but i dont think i have enjoyed a series of books as mush as this series. i love fantasy novels and i have had hours …

Thought I should introduce myself. I started reading WoT 7 years ago when my best friend let me borrow the first couple of books. We went separate ways, and I recently started reading them again. I'm loving them even more this time around!

Hello Folks and greetings from Maryland! I am new to the forum and new to books by Robert Jordan. I just finished A Song of Ice & Fire and The Wheel of Time series was recommended to me as a great read. I am only about 200 pages into The Eye of the World and I am really getting into the story. I hope to finish it this week and move on to the next book in the series. I am stoked to be a part of this community and look forward to interacting with all of you. Glenn (thebob101)

Howdy! I've been a WoT fan for a solid four years now, ever since I got through about the third chapter of Eye of the World. I've dropped by Dragonmount once in a while to check on news and such, and for some reason, I decided that today would be a good time to make a forum account. So here I am! :) And a bit of information, if you so care: I love reading to the point where it might be extreme. For example, I read the Mistborn Trilogy in four days this past weekend, and that was my second time through. I read ToM overnight the day I got it, staying up 'til 8 am to finish it. You get the idea. I'm a big fan of the harder side of rock and some metal, particu…

  13. Hello there, peoples! I'm Markieta, long-lapsed member of the community. If you hung around the White Tower back in the 1999-2001 era, you might remember me. Well, I've come back, for a variety of reasons, and am looking forward to jumping back into things. I'm working with Elgee on bringing back my character to the RP and looking forward to fun times. It'll be great to meet some new people!

Hello to you all. I am a very first-time social networker but a longtime WoT reader (ca. 1995) who could be enticed into this amazing electronic world only by the majesterial nature of Robert Jordan's epic epic. I look forward to the insights of others on the particulars of the astounding depths and interconnectedness of the characters and storylines....

Hello I am a western canadian male who first read the eye of the world about 9 years ago. I have since read all the main books at least 4 times (excepting the gathering storm and towers of midnight only 3 times). I am generaly not a fantasy book fanatic but i am infatuated with this series. I briefly looked over this site (extremely brief) just now for the first time. I seen the big unnoticed thing thread and glanced at it. would this be verin being a darkfreind? I dont remember exactly but i think alana expresses her mistrust in verin somewhere in that time period(books 4-6)i could be wrong. There are also several other clues i believe there after because i did suspect…

Well, I'm not really new to Dragonmount per say I've been a member for a while now but I have never posted on the forums I've finished the WoT series to date and and going through the series again (on audiobook this time) I started reading about 6 years ago when I got the first 8 books in a garage sale for $3... The owners must have been out of their minds Since then I have become quite fanatical and have even started collecting WoT memorobilia such as the trading cards, and the graphic novels, and all of the books in hardcover 1st edition. I hope to find good discussions here, and on a side note, my favorite character is Mat.

Korryn Wynn pushed back the cap on his head as he crossed the bridge from Alindaer onto the island of Tar Valon itself. Commander Chakreem had warned him that he'd be awed by the beauty of the White Tower, pushing itself up from the island like a spear jutting into the sky. She had sounded slightly, well, perturbed by the White Tower. Not it's inhabitants, just the structure itself. But that was actually common for folk from Whitebridge. When your town is named after an artifact of the Age of Legends, it seeps into you and you find yourself strangely jealous of other relics of the long past age. But Korryn didn't see a rival to his home's namesake. In fact, the sight …

Anyways, today i decided to join DM. The series really opens for discussion, and i need to discuss all the awesomeness that occupies the pages. And this community seems epic. Hey all. I fell in love with these books almost 10 years ago, and was absolutely devastated when I found out the legend behind them passed away. Call me sad, but I actually had a lump in my throat when I read about it online! But I know I probably wasn't the only fan who did so. When I heard that some one else had been chosen to complete this amazing saga, I was optimistic but also a little biased that they wouldn't be able to deliver the amazing detail and drama that Mr Jordan could create with his words. Was I wrong or what!? Brandon Sanderson has been true to the storyline, characters and aura that Jordan created, and dare I say it...? Slightly better at k…

hello all, I am a 'prodigal' WoT reader meaning I read the series 3 - 4 times back when #7 was the latest one, then gave it up as I couldn't abide waiting for each new installment (not to mention remember every new development with that long of a wait in between). I became such a huge fan back then that I basically stopped reading altogether. I used to read a lot of Gordon R Dickson, Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, ...whoever wrote the "Recluse" books I can't remember, Dennis L McKiernan Melanie Rawn Stephen Brust quite a few others and even the first couple Sword of Truth books. but WoT was just so epic for me and with such great character development that afterwards I coul…

I'm a long time lurker....well, if you consider three days a long time. I honestly just started reading the series a month ago. I'm about half way through The Shadow Rising right now, but I love the series so much that I had to register. This seems like quite an awesome board with pretty cool people, and I hope to have a good time here.....as long as I stay away from the spoilers.

I started reading the series at the beginning of the year and loved the first few books and then i hit kind of hit a dry spell in the middle. I just finished KoD and my vigor for the Wheel of Time has returned. I have started reading the Gathering Storm and no offense but its just not the same without Jordan. I started telling someone i knew that i wish i had an ogier friend , needless to say this person thought i was crazy thinking of the green giant Shrek. I thought it was time to find someplace where people might actually understand that :) Im always up for a nice chat. Especially with the amount of imagination and creation Jordan has put into his books. my email is ri…
