Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Zyida Albenorn,

After many years of lurking around other WoT fan sites, I decided to make an account here. Primarily because I'm eager for info on the WoT show. I pronounce my name "Zeye-ee-dah" (with the Zy rhyming with "eye"). I'm from the Niagara Falls region and am a social worker for the job that pays the bills.

  2. Started by Moonbeam,

Hello all, been away for 20 years or so, but dove back into the WoT last year, so it is time to connect again! Hope everybody is well and see you around;-)

    Started by Guest Jmoney,

My name is Jason and I am happy to be here, arriving from North Florida! I initially read only half of the series while out to sea, deployed for the Navy. I would have read all of the books but they only had the first 6 or so onboard. About 2 years later I listened to the complete audiobooks while driving from Norfolk to Jacksonville every weekend from the beginning and was blown away! I just started listening again a couple of months ago (mainly while driving to/from work) and have almost finished Towers of Midnight. I wanted to get it in again before the series aired. Next time around, I will probably read them like I started to, even though Michael Kramer and Ka…

Hello everyone, I am currently reading the WOT series for the first time. I am halfway through The Shadow Rising right at this point and this particular book more than the previous 3 has hooked me so much I had to find a forum where I could talk about the books while I am reading them.

  6. Started by Willow Elbereth,

Hi everyone, I’m just getting back into the series. They’ve been collecting far to much dust on my shelf. Looking forward to connecting with other WOT fans!

  9. Started by Davian,

Hmm, was a member of these forums back when I was in high school and college. So maybe 11-14 years ago. Was with the DRPSW.org forums as Raolin Darksbane but was Davian here. Had a BT character named Demetrius Schezar not sure what happened to the bio. Did some RPing with Chris(?) in Age of Legends. And was a mod for a discussion forum for like a month lol. You guys still do the Empys? I made friends here that I still keep in touch with. Heard the WoT series was picked up by a studio and started rereading EotW so naturally... came back here to.see what's up! Hello!

  11. Started by Fano'Lan Redux,

Greetings to all, it had been too long ago for me to remember the email for my original DMount account thus the redux. I've been periodically visiting the site since I learned of the Amazon project but the time has finally come to admit defeat to the old log in ID quest and register anew. Occasionally, I see names remembered from active debates back in the day, when we'd fill the (duration as yet to be determined) delay between book releases debating the potential meaning of various details and their relevance to the unfolding story so hello again old friends and sparring partners. I hope the small screen translation provides as much fodder for discussion/de…

  12. Started by Phaedra,

I'm an Aspie of the White Tower, and thought I would stop in and say hi to the site. I started reading WoT back in 2004, and only made it to book 6. I've tried re-reading the series multiple times over the last 15 years, but can only seem to get to book 6. I just started re-reading, this time with my mom and sister, with the determination to finish the series this time. Because spoilers don't bother me, I've read synopsis/plot summaries/discussions about the series as a whole to know what happens ?. I've been a fan of the series for a long time, and am super excited about the TV series. I joined DM because I want to know the latest news about the show, as well as read up …

Hi, I'm just started reading WOT. Since none of my friends have read it, and I don't want to google anything to spoil anything, I signed up here to ask and discuss the book at the point of where I am. Have a great day. --Joey

  15. Started by Sammuel,

Hello all, I'm Sam, and I started on WoT shortly after the Harry Potter series ended. Since quarantine started, I've been a hermit in a city of 20 million people, and for some reason I've struggled to get into anything new, so I've been rereading my old favorites. Decided to dive back into WoT, and it's my first re-read, and there are things I want to talk about. I saw that there was a like that said "Read this first" that apparently I don't have the permission to view yet, but I wanted to ask about what the forum is like. I do love these books, but sometimes they can feel like guilty pleasures, and a lot of what I might want to start conversations about …

  17. Started by Elder_Haman,

I'm brand new here and wanted to say hi. I've been reading the series since almost the beginning (EotW and tGH) were my only paperbacks, the rest were purchased in hardback on publication. I've listened to the excellent audiobooks a couple of times as well. I'm very optimistic about the tv series and since the Coronavirus hit, I've been spending some of my new found free time have been working my way through the series again trying to predict how the show might play out. I'm looking forward to posting some of my theories and chatting with y'all about it.

Hi, my name is Dan, and I just joined the forum. I started reading The Wheel of Time earlier this month. I'm 160 pages into The Great Hunt at the moment. I did write a post on my author blog about how/why I started reading fantasy again with The Wheel of Time even though it has been decades since I've either read or written it. It's at https://dhjonathan.com/2020/06/12/reading-fantasy/ if anyone is interested...

  25. Started by TohIsOwed,

I'm a brand new reader of The Wheel of Time, currently making my way through Lord of Chaos. I'm reading each book in about 2-3 weeks depending on how much time I have. I don't have anyone to talk to about the books and I heard the WoT community is great and enjoys discussing it with first timers, so I thought I'd give this a try! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments, looking forward to what lies ahead, thank you!

  26. Started by Elgen,

Hey there I'm new to these boards, I think. I imagined I had an account here somewhere, but none of my emails are registered. I was checking up to see if there were any of those old forum-based RPs going anymore. I did those when I grew up, in a various enviroments, but WoT was actually my first world. So anyways, hello guys!

    Started by Guest gingerminge9,

and holy crap, I’m obssessed! My name is amanda, I’ll be 30 this september and I am from Zebulon, ga. How I came across the books was pure fate, I got back into reading again in my adult life this past year and I actually started off with A Game of Thrones, and that’s what got me into the fantasy genre of books. So my husband and I, had some financial problems and we started to use pawn shops to get by, so when all that was over, I was in the pawn shop making a payment one day and I looked over to a shelf and just saw this stack of books ( and if you know pawn shops, you know you don’t ever see books, or good ones for that matter) and I started looking and it was abo…
