Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by s.gal83,

Anyway, here is some introduction of myself. I am from Singapore, and I had read the WOT since I was 15. But I went to a misguided church that claimed that everything fantasy was from the devil, and so I threw away all my WOT books and stopped reading them. Anyway, I realised my church was a bit fanatical and stopped attending it. Since then, I had started to re-read the fantasy books. I had read books from other fantasy authors. Just recently, I bought the WOT books again, from book 1 until book 11 in paperback format. I would buy book 12 as soon as it was available in paperback format. I just finished reading the eye of the world, the great hunt,…

  3. First, I wish to welcome you most sincerely to Dragonmount. I have been a member here for 5 years, and have loved nearly (>.>) every minute of it. Your Mod here Barmacral told me that we were able to have an entire thread for the month of December, to regale you with the wonders and joys that is the Shayol Ghul Organization. You may be wondering what an Org is, because to someone not familiar with what's going on here, an Org means something entirely different than what you would expect. But alas, an Org at Dragonmount is really a social group. Each Org at Dragonmount has a very special flavor, and Shayol Ghul's flavor is particularly enticing (I'm obviously biased…

  5. Started by Bachkerr,

Hello all, I'm 40, parent of 2 wonderful children with a equally wonderful wife and work in the health care. I presently live in the great state of Tennessee. I've known of this site for several years but after reading The Gathering Storm (TGS) and after finishing last night I just had to register. I'm dying to talk with others who have read the book and get their feedback. When I found out Brandon Sanderson was writing the final book(s) I was interested to see what he has done before. I read the Mistborn Trilogy in Oct / Nov and just finished the books when TGS arrived. I generally enjoyed the first book, had issues with pacing and plot on the seco…

  7. Started by Nighttrain,

Im back but under a different name. Haven't been here for a while but always enjoyed it, role playing that is. Some may remember me from my Aiel, BORH, and BT days although unfortunately I cam only seem to remember my Stone Dogs name, Dyami. At the time I was the leader of the Stone Dogs and hope to jump back in it again. Good to be back. Nighttrain

Hello, reading the Gathering Storm made me want to find a forum to discuss Wheel of Time. I could have sworn that I had already registered, but for some reason that account is inaccessible (perhaps because I never posted) so I figured I might as well make a new one.

Are you a nobody too? Then there's a pair of us - don't tell! /Dickinson Yeah, new to Dragonmount mostly. I've seen it in passing during various searches on the Triple-W, but only recently got around to checking it out for real. So many books, so little time! (The more I think about it, I wanna cry, leaves no time to be younnnnnnnnnng) Only now getting around to introducing myself, so Huzzah, welcome to me! Hi and stuff.

  10. Started by Mark Waite,

Hi all! I'm Mark. I've been coming to DM on and off since I started the series, but just realized I'd never actually joined, so here I am. I started the series about a year ago and read the first 3 books, then took a break to read some other books I'd been looking forward to. I'm about 200 pages into TSR now, and I think I'm just going to power through the rest of the series before going to something else. Byes! :)

  12. Hey ya'll. My step-dad from Canada came all the way to Kentucky and introduced this country gal to the Wheel of Time...I've loved him ever since ;) That was about 11 years ago and I just keep reading the series over and over waiting for each new book to come out. I was 12 when I started this and getting lost in this fabulous world of Robert Jordan's has been my only escape from a lot of hard times in my life. Still trying after 5 years to talk my boyfriend into reading but I think I've almost reeled in another one. Drop by and say hi to me guys.

  13. I don't know if I'm a bit out of place or what... I am a sports freak. I don't know if your average reader of this genre is a sports freak, but that's exactly what I am. I used to be a 'professional' sports writer. I'll be honest when I say that no one that I hang out with or associate with on a daily basis has anything to do with this genre. None of them have ever even heard of Robert Jordan. Please tell me that I'm not alone... surely I cannot be the only sports nut that loves Tolkien, Stephen Donaldson, Tad Williams, Jordan and a host of other authors.... Anyways, besides that, I'm just a 32 year old guy from Fort Worth, Texas. Yes, I am a bit down right now…

  15. Started by Leatherleaf,

Hey all, I finally signed up for some WOT discussion, although I've been reading the books for years. I'm a busy student who works so I probably won't be on here too often, but I look forward to contributing whenever possible nonetheless. Huzzah! -leatherleaf Ps. Yes, even I find my name a bit weird, but the plant is mentioned so often in the books that I find it interesting, so again, Huzzah!

  16. Started by Al Jenn Mael,

Well I have stopped by the forums sporadically for the past decade ever since I started the wheel of time. It was thanks to google for I had several questions, some that were answered like meanings of the old tongue. I finally registered to talk about Brian Sanderson and because some people, like Luckers, have brought up some possible plot lines that I find interesting. So I'll be in the TGS forum, see you all there. O' and I'm a 22 year old USAF Bomb Technician in Afghanistan and will be majoring in Biomedical applications in about a year. I'm glad Sanderson switched his major from biochemistry but it is totally awesome.

I have been off and on DM for the past few years, and decided to join. I RP'd for awhile on another site but sort of drifted away from there, and now I want a fresh start. As soon as I can dig the books out of their moving box, I am going to start the series from the first book , again.

Hello everyone! A norwegian male, 27 year old WoT-fan stopping by. Started reading the series a couple of years ago, but stopped when my life kind of went downhill. Got things back on track now and started reading again. Currently having a blast reading "The Shadow Rising" and eagerly looking forward to the rest of the series. Just hope I finish it before I become a father, which is in march. Doubt I'll get time for reading then :) Feels good to have found a large community like this, to share my interest of the world Jordan created. May he rest in piece.

Greetings and salutations! My brother first introduced me to the WOT back in the early 90s right before tFoH came out, and I've been hooked ever since. Unfortunately I never really thought about looking into any fansites and have missed almost 20 years of discussion and speculation! >:( Well I have now rectified the situation and heartily look forward to adding my thoughts and theories to this wonderful and diverse commmunity. Thanks for having me.

Hi all, I'm Ryan. I go by OHurley on virtually every blog I post on, so I thought this one should be no different :) I've been a fan of the WoT since probably 1996. I participated in several old RPing guilds back when AOL chatrooms were in vogue. I actually helped run The Brotherhood of Shayol Ghul where I RPed Sammael for a couple years. Anyway, I love these books. Read them all several times and continue getting more and more out of them. I have several different theories as to what's going to happen, and I'm glad I found this place to share and discuss them. Cheers! Ryan (OHurley)
