Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by The Wolf King,

Hello all, I'm fairly new to the WOT as I have only been a fan for a couple of years now. I was a member of Tar-Valon.net but it didn't really hold my interests. I have been a lurker here for a couple of weeks now and I love what I have seen so far. I hope to make some new friends who share the same love of the WOT that I have come to since becoming a fan. :)

  2. Started by Malivis,

Finally decided to join up after being a long time lurker... mainly because I always want to point something out but I've been to lazy to register! Woo!

  3. Started by LunaticsLament,

Hello, my fellow WoT fans. I was a member of Shayol Ghul back when I was in high school around 2004 and I have been gone from these boards far too long.

  4. Started by Ted M,

Let's see. I started reading the series somewhere back in the early '90s, somewhere after TGH and before TDR. In the mid-nineties I occasionally posted on r.a.s.f.w.r.j. on usenet, but life got in the way somewhat, and while I kept up with reading the new books as they came out I didn't keep up so much with what was going on in the "community". I found this place a few years ago and checked in every now and then to see what people were saying and grab theories, but never quite got around to registering. With The Gathering Storm coming out in a month, it seemed like the time to rectify that... so, here I am.

  5. Started by Ashaman DeRouge,

Well I figure I should make it official. Hi all! My name is Rick. I'm a bank manager by day, but don't hold it against me. By night? Well, I'm hopelessly addicted to Halo and FIFA, and of course my presence here names me as a Huge WoT fan. I started the series about 2 years ago, and to be honest, I've read the whole series 2 times through and on my third now, with little to no break between! I have never encountered a series quite as intricate and epic and 'lived in' as the WoT, and Jordan's (Blessed be) ability to create a persistant and realistic "fantasy" world is in my opinion second to none. So I promised not to make my intro post boring, so here's a whole …

  6. Started by LanMan,

I'm pretty much the same as everyone else. I'm new to the books, on book six now. I have been lurking for a while and thought I would join in. Interested to see what the organizations have to offer. The illuminators and white tower have my interest. So egh... I guess what I mean is, hi.

  7. Started by The Blue Melon,

This is my third time making a post here, I was a member for like 6 months, but I got bored and left and then rejoined for a month and then left again. So yeah, I'm back, I don't know for how long, hopefully for a while. But yeah, I believe I was part of the Illuminators guild. I feel I'm pretty well rounded so I'm open to a lot. So hello all, again.

Just got registered. I've already been checking out the forums for a while, and I thought I might as well make myself a name. So hi.

  9. Started by Coraxian,

Hello, Coraxian here. I've been reading the books since 1998, first from the local library and after from winter's heart on I got them in English first before buying them all in the local language. Since the old site I used to frequent for WoT related discussions kicked the bucket and the first of the last three books (can we still really believe it'll be just 3 more? ;) ) is about to be published I couldn't resist to sign up. I have visited often, but now I might use the chance to post once in a while. I'm looking foreward to meeting you all in the discussions fora. *bows gracefully*

  10. Lives come and pass, users of forums come (and pass - though that's not the intion here), legends (even on the internet) fades to myth, (and yes even here) myth is long fogotten... So why, when few will notice and yet fewer remember once you are gone, why even be here...? Let alone spend time on an introduction... Because only in words and memories can we hope to be remembered, at least for this Age can we hope to be remembered, as all here do, most likely remember RJ, even now after his dead, his words live on in memories... hopefully one of those that will not pass with the turning of the Wheel of Time... And that's about as philosophical as I care …

  11. Started by Aran Corval Alandar,

Hello all. I was a member here/rp'd from 1999 to 2003. I was around for the original site. I have been away awhile but, I wanted to return on some basis. I don't know that anyone will remember me at this point but..anyhow. Hello all. My main character was an Asha'man named Aran Alandar. I worked my way up to Storm Leader before I left :) I also had a Warder named Elisan Matyer and an Aes Sedai whose name escapes me. I would like to be involved in the BT again in some way. Aran

  12. Started by Psion,

Dragonmount! It's been a long time since I was really involved here. I started coming to DM around five years ago, as a junior in high school, under the name Guardianian (if anyone remembers that). Around the time that the site went down and got completely restarted, I started getting busy. I adopted the name Phoenix, but almost never logged in. Recently I started looking at my WoT books on my shelf, and started getting back into them, especially as the next book approaches, and I realized that I had a lot of fun on this site. So here I am. I can't promise total commitment, but I intend to be fairly consistent. If any of you guys remember me from the old d…

  14. Started by Vordreller,

The somewhat mandatory introduction topic. I'm know as Vordreller, that's my internet persona and I'll stick to that instead of my real name. I came here in the wake of the first chapter of TGS being put on the internet, and I decided to make an account. TWOT has been a part of my life since I was 15 and still is today. I come here not really with the intention of finding a place to "fit in", but more to present myself as the person I am. "Fitting in" or not will follow it's own natural course and it will be different for each individual person. That might seem a little grim, but I've learned not to expect that people are what I think they will be. By whi…

  15. Started by Darwin Blade,

My name is Thomas Bradley, I am a Robert Jordan fan and have read all of his novels for the wheel of time up to date and have the new one on pre-order. I am starting my own company called mystic flame studios and am trying to get published but cannot seem to find a publisher. I am trying to get a new table top rpg on the market called Era: Shrouded by War. It is a medieval based RPG with a technology twist.

  16. Started by SightblinderX,

I wasn't very active on WoTMania, and only just today checked my e-mail and discovered it had been shut down. Hopefully, Dragonmount will be my new little bastion of WoT on the web. Just wanted to say "Hi, I'm here!" :D

  17. Started by Trajer Stoher,

Hey all, My name is Alex and I met people from Dragonmount while at DCON and have joined up to cause a very pleasant Israeli girl ask me to. For those of you who were at DCON, I'm the one who didn't have a left hand and said I would dress up as Rand for JordanCon. Heh.

  18. Started by Zamael,

Greetings members of Dragonmount! It's been a long time since I was a member myself. I believe the old message board system went down sometime after KoD. I had an account at that time and never bothered to recreate it, until now. Thanks to Kevin Dean for manually activating my account as I was unable to receive the activation code via email. As you all are, I too am pumped about the upcoming release of TGS. It's been a long sad time since the last book and the death of RJ. I am so glad to see the torch being passed to BS. It is wonderful that Harriet is ensuring that RJ's legacy is completed. A number of years ago, there was an online trivia contest…

  19. Started by Seaine Sedai,

Hi, my name is Amber and usually online I go by Silveramberz, but this forum gives me a somewhat unique opportunity to go by one of the most intriguing characters IMO. I don't even know how to pronounce her name (well, aside from the way they do on the books on tape, but I don't always think those people are right with the way they pronounce names), so in my head I pronounce her name along the lines of "shay-EEN". Anyway, I find her intriguing because she's unique in the Tower Aes Sedai Hall--she's the only one who was not notified of Elaida's coup over Suian and yet stayed rather than flee to Salidar. I think there's going to be a lot more to the reasons why she did t…

I wanted to stop in the newbie section to introduce myself to the forum. A guy that I use to work with brought me into the WOT fold by allowing me to read The Eye Of The World. A great read I might add. I enjoy fantasy novels and this series has become one of my favorites. I look forward to visting this forum often. Thanks. Shakar71.... 8)

  23. Started by deejrandom,

Just wanted to say a quick hello. I have been accessing Dragonmount for sometime, but I tended to go to Wotmania a wee bit more. (No real reason, just seemed to be the place I ended up.) However I have a friend that is on dragonmount a bit and since Wotmania is closing...I decided to make my home here. Let me see: I have been reading the Wheel of Time books since I was about 16 or 17. I found the first two volumes on sale at a local library for 25 cents each. The funny thing is I had went to the library that day looking for a thick book, something to keep me reading for a long time. I didn't realize I'd still be reading the same series so many years later. Not th…

  24. Started by Voscaia Sedai,

Hi everybody, I have been lurking around here for several years, mainly in the announcements and blogs section, while I was now and then posting at wotmania with this SN (so some might have read my name already). I started reading WoT in 1997, and, though my native tongue is German, always stuck to the English books. My main focus will be the book forums, but although I generally prefer real life contacts, every nice PN will be answered as nicely ;) I also joined RAFO :P, and I started my seventh or so re-read of WoT this week to prepare for TGS... Oh yes, I'm evil and have joined the Black Ajah ;D Lorna

Hello everybody, I am new to this site, but have been obessed with the Wheel of Time books since I first picked up the Eye of The World in grade 8. Which was 10 years ago now. These books made me into an avid reader, when I could have cared less about books before. I thank James Rigney for that. I am glad there is such a large WOT community out there! ;D Later everybody :D

So here I am. My name is Layla and I have been reading and re-reading WoT for 10 years now. Unfortunately due to a bad break up 2 years ago I lost custody of my books and only just got new copies two months ago and there has been no stopping me... Really looking forward to the next installment, I should have them all finished by then and be clamming for the gathering storm. Even better for me is this forum, no one I know is into WoT books and the fact that there are so many tend to put my friends off even trying the first one. Nevermind, now I can chat away to my hearts content.

  29. Started by Moongoose,

Hey everyone, I've got a bit of an oddball story. So I first started the series...gosh, 4 or 5 years ago I guess. I picked it up at the school library. I was looking for something that would take me awhile, and boy did I pick right. I was never a big reader, so it took me a while to go through it. But I did enjoy it and eventually made my way past FOH a few months after I started. Around that time I things had happened and I didn't have as much time to read and eventually stopped entirely. By the time I came back to LOC I had forgotten some of the details and made it impossible for me to continue. So it sat on my shelf. Until yesterday... I was again looki…

Over the past few years I have stumbled into this community numerous times, but have never considered joining with a registered account! This makes me an absolute newbie, I guess. (Thanks to Kevin Dean for fixing the little error that wouldn't allow me to log in initially :) ) I first found From the Two Rivers at my school library, and by the end of 2002 I had finished the whole of The Eye of the World and was well into The Great Hunt - something I thought was impressive for a seventh grade student! Since then I have read the series from start to finish again, and with the release of both CoT and KoD, read the previous books as a refresher. Having only read the entir…
