Not a theory, but a thing that crossed my mind. In Aviendha's visions of the future of her bloodline we see that her kids are always connected to the one power. Now my/the idea is that Rand is now, as will they, continuously in contact with the OP. As for indications of this being true, I am not sure. Now I think we have not yet had a POV of Rand since his enlightenment so nothing conclusive there. There is a point at which Min notes he does not get nauseous anymore, but that is after he channels so I don't know if she (or Elayne and Avi) could/can detect him being in contact with the source or whether she saw the channeling and could not detect the nausea . …

I had a weird passing thought that maybe Aviendha will make use of the fact that Avendesora is in Rhuidean and take a branch with her as a part of a treaty for peace with the Seanchan. As omen-obsessed as the Seanchan are, I hardly think they could pull a Laman and do anything to break that treaty. As far as the freeing of the Shaido damane being a part of that treaty, for despite all the other Aiel's current attitude toward the Shaido clearly it becomes a base issue for them to have an all-out war with the Seanchan, it is difficult to say. Any thoughts?

First post here in general, hello everyone! I'm doing my first re-read in over 10 years (since before Winters Heart) and something struck me while reading the first few books. Why weren't the Yellow Ajah involved in separating Mat from the dagger? Granted it wasn't a typical illness, but it was an illness and the Yellows are supposed to be the experts in this area. There were two Aes Sedai from each Ajah in Fal Dara yet there is no mention of any Yellows being involved in healing Mat. Again no mention of a Yellow when they healed Mat for good in the Tower. I know the Blues and Yellows don't get along so well so it's possible that Siuan didn't trust them to be…

Okay so I just finished my second re-read of Towers of Midnight and everybody who has read the epilogue has ran across the nasty Aiel in the Blight. So my question is who are these Aiel and where did they come from. One of the things about them is the merchant from Andor notices Aiel in the blight with a red viel instead of black, not that big of a problem right. The next thing he notices is that these Aiel have very sharp teeth. Input anyone?

they are both very strong, and often regarded as 2nd behind Lews Therin and Ishamael, but it is hard to guess who are the strongest of the two, just qutiour, since it is hard to make an accurate map over strenght in power, compared with all the forsaken, and the new strong channelers, like Logain, Taim, and some of the Ashaman, but who are strongest between the two so called 2nd after the the Dragon and the Betreyer of Hope, are they equal or are one a bit above the other, Aginor seems to be the most clumsy of the forsakem and not very lucky while Demandred is very lucky and hard to find, but who are the strongest, like that matters, i just want to find that out

I don't want to see a key villain taken out by a minor new character in some cheeseball way after a lot of build up or intrigue. Or see Rand so built up through the series and then die because some one throws a rock at him... Examples- ROTJ "Boba Fett? Boba Fett? Where???!" then fett's jet pack is triggered and he winds up in the belly of a sarlac. Dark Tower- Randall Flag, Marten, The Man in Black - killed by the friggin spider...cmon I wanted to see him and Roland show down. BSG- Starbuck as some unexplained mystery angel? Huh? A ton of characters taken out off camera - like Lupin and Tonks in the last Harry Potter book. So far…

I read somewhere that team Jordan said/hinted/implied that the final word of the book was either 'light' or 'time'. It could be something as prosaic as "The End of the Last Book of the Wheel of Time." I hope not. My hopes are for something like the following. ------------ Rand has died his second death, the pattern is whole and Rand's Ladies are together and having a conversation. Aviendha: "The Car'a'carn has saved the world. Even though he has awakened from the dream we have what he saved for us. I have my children and the Aiel to care for and guide past disaster." Elayne: "And I have our children and Andor. Even though I said I wouldn't …

White going through TCoS, I read the entire chapter related to Rand-Sammael confrontation. However, in the end, there has been no sign of Sammael alive or dead. Later on, Demandred speculates that someone "impersonating" Sammael has resurfaced in the Blight. As we know that many Ogier steddings have been engulfed by the Blight and Moiraine has mentioned Gateways there. Moreover, there was a gateway in Shadar Logoth, near which Sammael was standing before hell broke loose in the city. Among the Forsaken, I had liked Sammael, Lanfear and Rahvin (Demandred's like depends on AMoL). all these people have been intriguing and secretive, not to mention damaging. Sammael had u…

I recently had two theories pop into my head. One crazy, the other (seemingly) not so much. Neither are incredibly researched, so forgive me if they're outlandish. And seeing as I'd be posting the theories so close together, it didn't feel right to start two separate threads. 1: Siuan and Leane's healing was COMPLETELY successful. This one is a tad out there, and it seems likely that there is be a single quote I missed that might refute this. Here's my theory, anyway: Siuan and Leane were returned to their youth(Well, 20-25). Is it possible that Nyneave healed them successfully, and Channeling strength--not capped, but the development from starting strength to cap…

If it's possible to make myrddraal, which are disturbing, shadowy, dark, and gains pleasure from torturing others. Would it be possible to create beautiful, radiant, flowing, and gains pleasure from helping others type things? I mean, since it is possible to make these and trollocs, why didn't anyone on the light side make more perfect people? With better memory, sharper reflexes, and a tendancy to be righteous and good? Just a thought

While re-reading TDB, I came across a very interesting line. It was mentioned when Perrin had just come out of Ishamael's dream, and had encountered Lanfear (he was not aware of the fact that time) in "Shadows Sleeping". The line goes like this: "The Horn rang out, and the wild charge began. Death rode at his shoulder, and yet she waited ahead, too. His lover. His destroyer." As it was mentioned in Perrin's PoV, I believe it is related to Perrin. But what does the line signify? If it is the personification of death, does this mean that Death had known him, and he's the one who's to die as per the Prophecies of the Shadow? Or does it mean Faile, who is going to play a m…

We already know many of the attendees of the Field of Merrilor. Already in attendance: The Tower Rand's subject nations (Tear, Illian, Arad Domon, the Aiel) Elayne with Andor and Cairhien Perrin with the Two Rivers, Ghealdan, Mayene, and the Whitecloaks The Borderlanders Gawyn has worried that the whole place could go up "like an Illuminator's firework." As usual, Gawyn has the brains of a donkey. Among these groups, there is no explosive potential at all. Everyone is led by an Emond's Fielder, or by Elayne. Yea, maybe they'll argue, but they'll figure it out. I WANT the Illuminator's firework however, and that's why I'm trying to figure how the Sea F…

You just got home from another hard day of work killing Forsaken, dealing with annoying monarchs, and wrangling stubborn Aes Sedai. You need to blow off some steam and get laid! Just so happens that all your girlfriends are home so you have some selection. You know you cant just choose all three at once since you are still working on convincing them at it is a fantastic idea. Min is down for it, she does what you say, but the other two will require a couple more years of work. So that means you have to choose only one. You are probably going to go to sleep right after so you dont really have to talk to her, really its about animal attraction right now. So, who do y…

In TCoT, Elayne mentions many of her supporters' armies not reaching the gates of Caemlyn. I read through the entire series, but I did not find another mention of these armies, as they were masked by the attacks the city faces. I just want to know where these armies actually went. Have they been mentioned again, or has RJ slipped us a foreshadow?

I was reading through the Perun and Thor mythologies and it seems that if RJ's goal was to follow these mythologies to the end, which I think it was, then Perrin will fight Shaidar Haran. Perun- The god of the underworld, in the form of a serpent, steals something from Perun, possibly his wife. Perun attacks the serpent with lightning and eventually defeats him. Thor- At Ragnarok, the end of the world, Thor fights Jörmungandr, the snake. Thor defeats Jörmungandr walks nine paces and dies. In both mythologies the snake is evil incarnate and they fight and die against the protagonist. (They are also both associated with water. I'm not sure what to make of that …

So I'm most certain I'll be in the minority of this one, but I'd like to hear some of the theories and see how far people go with this idea of Rand's channeling powers post-VoG given what we see at Maradon. I'll supply some food for thought. First, the glow. Men don't glow, and while it seems possible that it was just lighting effects from what he was doing (as Ituralde notes) it's not likely. So this seems to be one of the reasons why people say that something's going on with his channeling. But of course, this happens: Despite the fact he couldn't see the light from where he was. So it's more 'radiant' than a visual thing, whatever it is. So consider…

So I'm rereading the series, time number 3. On the Lord of Chaos, and the bit where Egwene starts maneuvering around the hall with Siuane, Elayne, and Nynaeve. We get a Delana pov where she contemplates killing Aran'Gar and Aran'gar tells her to keep pushing to have Logain re-gentled or killed. What does this imply? Perhaps the glory Min foretold being before the Last Battle, something to do with cleaning out the Black Tower?

Something i was just wondering about. Does the WT, or even any of the AS in the WT, know about the TP? I have suspicions that Cadsuane might know a little bit about it, but do other AS of this age remember what the Bore was actually drilled for? My assumption is that the only people who know about it are the forsaken and Rand. I think this is something Rand should definitely be filling the world in on, as it will be a major factor in the LB. If the AS and Asha'man go into the LB thinking it will be fought with the OP only, they'll definitely be in for a big surprise.

Just finished rereading towers of midnight and a particular scene caught my attention. When Matts fighting the Foxes he talks about them moving oddly within shadows. Just wondering if this is linked with the Myrddraal shadow moving? I cant quite remember how Myrddraal are formed think they were throw backs from creating trollocs so cant think at all how the attribute could be similar. Thanks for any replies

So Mesaana is still in a vegetative state...but does that make her ability to channel moot for use via a'dam or link? I seem to remember somewhere RJ said we were going to start to learn about souls and the lack thereof, but this seems rather different from an entire lack of a soul being more comatose in nature...

Ok, so there's always a lot of speculation about the "three become one" prophecy. Does it refer to Rand, Moridin, and Lews Therin? Rand and the two women he'll wield Callandor with? What about Min's viewing of Rand and another man merging together. Rand and Lews Therin? Rand and Moridin? Well, I submit to you, humble audience, an alternative theory: During the Last Battle, Rand and the forces of the Light are staging an assault on Shayol Ghul. While the fighting is going on, suddenly, Rand's body begins to glow a brilliant blue and white. There's a flash, and when it's over, what was once Rand al'Thor is now another man. He looks around, surprised at his surr…

Since it has been established that gholams are among the Shadowspawn that can travel through gateways (as evidenced by the eternal fall from a skimming gateway of one of the six in Towers of Midnight) so therefore could be moved from place to place quickly - is the one that killed Herid Fel the one that Mat dealt with (confirmed in the books or by RJ/BS) or is it possible there is still another one around? If there is no confirmation, any hints either way?

Hello every one, So this is my first forum entry, hope oyu all enjoy. The very last page of the towers of midnight is occupied by the recently revealed prophecy of the shadow. I would like to discuss the second paragraph and its meaning. "The one-eyed fool travels the halls of mourning" Possibility here for Mat to be mourning maybe the loss of Olver (as he runs off to fight in Caemlyn) Second "The last days of the fallen blacksmith pride shall come" Obviously the next bit deals with the death of hopper, however i thought that maybe Perrin is destined to die but somehow still lead the wolfs. Thoughts anyone???

hi, i'm new and just registered to put this out there in the open: ever since the first book, there are few things that kept being mentioned like it was just trivia. 1. the Dark One is bound by the Pattern 2. each life is a thread in the Pattern 3. Ta'veren manipulate/shape the Pattern 4. and the Big Three are the strongest Ta'veren ever each with they're own way of manipulating chance. 5. since book 6(?) the Dark One is impatient enough to want to damage the Pattern with BALEFIRE, thereby trimming down the good guys' pool of life threads i think it's very, very possible that by bringing a whole bunch of people to the Blasted Lands, Rand will be able to…

In ACoS, in Moghedien's PoV, RJ has revealed that Moridin lives outside the pattern. He loves to live there and travel through it. Now is it something that is too odd? As far as we know, the DO is capable of destroying and playing the patterns, but so far we haven't confronted a situation where there is absolutely no pattern at all, except in mindtrapping of Moghedien. After that scene, I don't think I ever heard of Moridin walking outside the pattern. What puzzles me right now is the significance of this fact. Rand tweeks the pattern to his purpose and Moridin lives outside the pattern. This means the prophecies do not actually exist here. This also means that there ca…

Do you have any idea how many people are there in the world? Maybe 3-4.000.000? And how many trollocs? Couple of millions too? I know this is irrelevant for the story but I want to know if there's info on that. I just want to know it because of the whole picture I have in my head. I was wondering about this after waves and waves of killed trollocs in various situations.
