I was looking at drawings online when I stumbled upon this I was wondering if anyone could give this any merrit? To my knowledge Asmodien died at the end of TFoH. Jain Farstrider doesn't come in until WH I believe under the alias of Noal. But Farstrider did leave Malkier when it was attacked and mentions an ogier stedding that he was at when the attack took place. Somebody warned the ogiers that the dark one was planning an attack on the Eye of the World. This happens 20 yrs before our story begins though. About the same time that Malkier was destroyed. So possibly a name to put to the man who warned against the death of the Eye of the World. But anoth…

It is already asssumed that one of the last battles in the series will be between Rand and Moridin. The Chosen of Light vs the N'Bliese. What will happen in this battle? I have felt, ever since the link between the two became evident, that their battle will fulfill the part of the prophecy of the dragon that says "To live, you must die". I feel that by killing Moridin, Rand will be destorying part of himself, the part that is linked to Moridin. I am unsure whether this will be physical damage, perhaps losing a leg and arm, or more intangible, such as losing his ability to channel. He kills part of himself, and the rest of him lives.

Can someone please explain to me how Elayne and others know that Adeleas's death was indeed a murder performed by the Black Ajah? Also, why are the suspects limited to Merilille, Careane, and Sareitha if there were many others nearby at the time of her murder? Also, I'm only on Book 11 so please if I am going to find the answers to the questions from later reading, I do not need to know without reading. :]

I know alot of people say that Rand is just a very powerful Ta'veren, and that he does not actually alter existence. For example, when he opened all of the sacks of grain in , his Ta'veren nature caused the odds of whether or not the grain was rotten to change so much that every sack taken out before he got there had been rotten and that every sack of graikn left of fresh and clean. Yes, that can be attributed to his being a Ta'veren. However, there are other times that he does not simply alter odds, but change nature itself. The apple tree at the beginning of The Gathering Storm, for example. The apples that had grown that season were shivled and rotten and the tre…

To my mind, Robert Jordan created two worlds; the world of the Wheel of Time, and the world of the fandom. He passed on this day, four years gone. I remember him.

Hello everyone, first post here! Anyways, I've been lurking around here for awhile and I noticed that people really don't like CoT, while they like KoD. With me, it's the opposite! I enjoyed reading CoT and thought it was a good book, while KoD was boring and seemed like it was 1000+ pages long. I also don't get why everyone is saying that nothing is happening in the plot. I mean sure, it's a slow book, but PoD was waaay slower than this one. Apart from Egwene's capture, there are still some good things in there. I mean, Perrin was quite enjoyable in this book - I can't stand him in the others. Sure, he is a crybaby, but at least at the end he shows his teeth. Mat! I …

Hi, I was having a look at the map for Randland, and was thinking that maybe some of the other lands that haven't really been included in the story as much as Randland, should be featured a bit more, personally I really would love to hear more about Shara and the Seanchan empire.

To be honest, I was somewhat disappointed with ending of ToM. Always towards the end of Jordan's books he has me unable to put the book down with the sudden action-packedness. It almost seemed like book ten did not have a climax, but was simply paving the way for book eleven, so I'm not too disappointed because maybe book eleven will be twice as dope. Also, is there any possible way to avoid spoilers in these forums? I've been revealed to info I haven't read!

I was reading a previous topic that claimed Cadsuane had a ter'angreal that had a similar effect to Mat's foxhead. Now, this isn't the case. Setalle Anan says that Cadsuane has a ter'angreal that can disrupt weaves of the power yes. However, this is the ter'angreal Cadsuane uses to break the inverted weave of illusion Semirhage has in Book 11. Does anyone disagree, and if so what evidence is there?

First, let me say that the WoT series is the best I have ever read. I am a HUGE fan. I started the series (only up through book 3) back when they first came out many many years ago, but got frustrated waiting for new books to come out so I told myself that I would stop and wait for them all to be released and then read the whole series. Well, that time has come! I am only on Book 3 - Chapter 12, so please guard any replies so as not to spoil anything I have not read yet. Thanks! My question is this. In Book 3 - Chapter 9 - Page 126, Perrin is dreaming and sees Lanfear. Is says "Even as he recognized her, she lifted her head and looked straight at him." The problem…

I've managed to find some of the interviews with the authors, but I'm still behind on this subject. So maybe someone more knowledgeable can help me with an answer. At first I thought balefire=bye bye. Now, it will seem the idea changed and it's more like 'the thread is burned from the Pattern, the DO can't touch the soul of the victim, and after a random time in limbo the thread will be reinserted in the Pattern' Is this place where balefired guys spent the time before the next 'reincarnation' the Dream World/TaR? They just hang in there like the Heroes of the Horn? Or it's just some sort of stasis? Is there an interview/quote from RJ or BS about this 'happy pla…

I am relatively new here, and have not read all the possible posts, but one of the common themes in many posts concerning the nature of the Wheel and the repetitiveness of the ages is that this conflict with the DO has occurred in every age, and he can never be permanently defeated. I have to ask myself why? Is this a logical position to hold based on the information that we have on the Wheel/Pattern and how it works? From a philosophical standpoint, according to the Nature of the Creator as described, he is a hands off deity. He made the Wheel and the Pattern for an unknown purpose, started everything in motion and walked away. Maybe he watches what is goin…

The Bore existed for a hundred years before LTT & co. sealed it. The GLOD has apparently beavered away for 3,000 years and managed to recently bust 4 of the Seals. His minions have chased around looking for them - Domon, Bashere, etc. Now Rand wants to bust the three remaining ones. Egwene & others consider this to be nuts. Importantly Rand has also stated his intention in public several times - the chances are quite high that the GLoD and His minions know about Rand's intention. The question is: Does the GLoD want the 3 remaining Seals broken? If so, why wouldn't He sit back and just wait for Rand to do this? One counter-factual is Taim's…

Ok... As of right now, I'm reading CoS. I'm to the point where Egwene discovers that Lan has 'returned' after Morraine's death. When she was talking to Siuan in her tent prior to that, Egwene saw Myrelle riding by. Immediately, she ran out to confront her and appeared angry with her. I've gone back and forth in the previous chapters, but can't seem to find why Egwene needed to confront her about anything. From what I gathered, it involved the contingent sent to the White Tower, but when I go back to where Sheriam 'fesses up about that, Myrelle's name isn't mentioned. Of course, the book went off on another tangent (Lan's return) and as of now, I don't have an answer and …

What exactly did Aran'gar accomplish (or thought to accomplish) in the AS camp except giving Egwene headaches and clouding her dreams? She could have, with care, used compulsion on the entire camp and parade them into the Erinin like lemmings. But she does... suspiciously close to nothing.

So my wife is doing her first read-through of the WoT after some convincing from me. She's enjoying it. :) Though, after following her through several different book series, i've noticed that she has a tendency to get VERY attached to characters. When she read Mistborn, she bawled like a baby when she though Elend had died at the end of Well of Ascension. And then again at the end of hte series. She's just past Elaida's overthrow and stilling of Siuan in tSR and again, much crying. This woman, she's adorable. And she's going to have a freakin HEART ATTACK when Moiraine disappears in the next book. Because i'm not going to tell her what happens. SHe's going to have to re…

I don't know if anyone has contemplated this, but I seem fixated on the notion that Logain and the Asha'man A-Team are going to show up just as Lan begins his charge and lay waste to the trolloc horde. Therefore, by destroying a massive trolloc incursion and saving the legendary Lan, Logain will gain his glory. Any thoughts?

I need to inquire with them about a possible business venture. Does anyone have their contact information, such as an email, or a phone number? (Most likely ofcourse, I would need to get in touch with the person representing their estate, such as an agent. I am not looking to get in touch with Harriet directly if it's not needed, if that's what you think.) Regards p.s. Mods, I thought this was the best place to post this. If I was wrong, please feel free to move this thread to a more proper place.

Are there going to be new or common and well known actors? That's basically it, lol. I know that they say there probably won't be a movie (from what I've read) or at least not for a long while, but if there is going to be one, I'd much rather fresh actors then your classic; Tom Cruise, lol. I don't know a lot about the series, but I am up to the fifth book as of now and am hooked as any reader can ever be, but if anyone has any information about a movie being released or something I can click on to get information; please share ;)

A thought that just appeared, and that I ned to write down before I forget it, is that the Creator is actually the Dragon. Not Rand, or the person Dragon, but rather the being the Dragon. We see the mention that Rand do a lot more than just channel the One Power. He radiate light. The darkfriends at Maradon see Rand radiating Light through the wall. The nobility lined up where he expose the darkfriends because they cannot look at him seem like it is due to him radiating Light. There is the veil of Light containing the Taint in his mind, as described by Nynaeve when she delve him. There are the theories that the protection on Rand's mind was added back at The Eye of…

Does Egwene still think he has his command and army solely because he's Rand's friend? She was there at the Battle of Cairhien but I think she considers his defeat of Couladin and his guard detachment as a fluke. Gareth Byrne and Talmanes have conveyed to her the impression that the Band is indeed a top notch professional force but I got the idea that she still regards them as mere Dragonsworn. She has "Dreams" about him but I don't think she understands the significance of the role he will play and his transformation of warfare.

Rand, Mat, Perrin, Faile, Lan, Nynaeve, Moiraine, Thom, Egwene and others are characters who - obviously - got loads of screen time to this point. Here are some characters I took a bit of a liking too that seemed to appear on camera too sparsely for my liking. In other words, Wish we'd seen more of: Pedron Niall - don't wask me why I kinda liked this old monster. But I did - and he was gone too soon. Hmmm....Moiraine disapeared for too long and Rodel waited too long to debut (As did Cadsuane - I like her, sue me)... Logain...I swear, talk about missed opportunties with a very charismatic character that was onscreen too briefly. Tarna...Liked her. Wi…

K, maybe it was discussed before, but I couldn't find anything recent(besides the one about using TP), so I'll ask it here. What will be the best plan to seal the Bore? What factions will be needed? What risks involved? The control statues for the Choedan Kal(bad LTT) are both gone, so there won't be a risk of another Latra Posae Decume(DF or not) 'wait and see' approach. Personally, I'm thinking about two major plans, and one with a wild card, all centered on DR or the Asha'man. Plan 1(works if Rand can use the TP). -create new seals -lead huge raiding force to SG -break seals -use TP siphoned through Moridin to activate the seals(no taint, or at least…

After "Strom of Light" I really don't see anyone being as strong as Rand, and I mean anyone (than or now; even LTT). We don't know if he used object of power or not, but it seems he didn't. So, who, besides GLotG, can stand up to him? IMO, no one. Until ToM I thought Ishy, but now... Thought?

So I just started re-reading the series and I'm back on TGH. I was thinking... when exactly was this made? More than likely the AoL, but Hawkwing says hes been called tons of times, and met as many Dragons, so his soul knows Rand/LTTs soul, and those that came before. But if it was made earlier... whats up with the Old Tongue scrolled on it? Why wasn't it used in the War of Power if those that made the Eye had it in their possession? Or did they?

Ever since I joined DM, I've seen a lot of discussion in assorted threads about when is the best time in the series to expose yourself to the prequel novel. But I can't recall anyone ever asking when people really did read it, and can't find anything in a search. It's been something that I'd been curious about for a while. In my case, I read NS before any of the other WoT books. I was new to the series and didn't know any better. At the time, I didn't feel like I had much choice. I was on vacation visiting relatives, and finished the one book I'd brought with me. So I walked a few blocks away to an independent bookstore, and found their SF&F section not too well-stock…
