It just occurred to me that the name Robert Jordan could actually be an altered anagram for Dragon Reborn. Well, it would be "Drajon Rebort" but I think is close enough. Like what you would obtain if trying to make an anagram for Dragon Reborn that sounded actually like a real name. I know Robert Jordan picked the pseudonym years before the first WoT book got published and I thinkt he never actually said anything about any sort of anagram, but still it seems like a huge coincidence. Has anyone thought about this before? I've been searching the forums but I haven't found anything about this topic. But I'm new here, so maybe I don't know how to search properly ^_^u …

So it appears when the longing occurred in Seanchan, the Ogier didn’t find a Stedding, they collapsed? And the empress? From their generation cared for the Ogier and whomever survived the longing, became harsher and joined the army/guards. Am I missing anything? Any of this wrong?

So it appears channelers live longer despite how often they channel, the stronger the person in the power, the longer they live. But in Two Rivers, despite the ability to channel being relatively common and strong ability common, the oldest person with the ability is Nynaeve. Nynaeve’s teacher had the ability as well, but nothing indicating she was more than grandmotherly yrs old. my only caveat for this shortage is that the Pattern recessed this gene popping out very few and mostly weak channelers until it was time for Nynaeve to be born.

Greetings everyone! I wanna say this is my favorite fantasy series ever (at least Up to book 10), and I probably read each book twice! Any word on the series being recorded in audiobook format??? I think that would spur the popularity bc no one like to actually read anymore lol plus as we all know, after book 4 these volumes get massive!! maybe once we get a series popping they’ll find the money to pay a voice for our listening pleasure. stay safe guys!! Peace

The Seanchan fight the sea folk whenever try encounter them, but shouldn’t the Seanchan be non-confrontational with the Sea Folk? The Sea Folk haven’t conquered any land of Randland.

Here's the gist of my thoughts about Weaves & the One Power within the Wheel of Time Universe. They don't actually exist. "Weaves" are a social-construct, created over several millennia by channelers. "Weaves" exist only as a method of mentally extrapolating how the one power works through the scientific method. I believe there are two important things going on here. 1) Willing something to happen while "Channeling" the One Power, causes it to exist. 2) What other channelers "see" and "feel" happening, is more or less their brain interpreting, what was "weaved". This allows them to replicate the weaves, without having to will it the same way. T…

She breaks brooms over peddlers telling stories about the Dragon. (p301, tGH) In EotW, she would switch men who displeased her. Men on the village council, I believe. Nearly every 'memory' of Nynaeve is her doing violence to somebody. What do the rest of you think?

I have been exploring the Aiel's future, past, the seals... and I stumbled on something. Troubles: There is something very stange about the Avendesora, before the Bore, they lined the streets of every city, but after the Bore, the Aiel caretakers could only get two to grow (that we know of (one last one in Rhuidean and the other that Laman cut down). Something is causing them to fail. Also Mat's reaction to the tree was too strong, the trees are supposed to be calming, but his experience seemed almost like a strong sedative. Also note they are artificial/genetically engineered and not from a seed. Answer: Maybe the Avendesora are failing because t…

Hi, I know there are many threads out there with people asking how the magic system works in WoT and I’ve gone through most of them, trust me. I understand it, but while I read the books - I have recently finished the fourth one - I don’t understand how the characters could weave these things they do. I went in hoping that book 4 would explain it to me so I could understand it even better, and for the entirety of the book I was patiently waiting and when I finished it the amazing feeling of have read a such great book combined with the unsatisfaction of not getting what I wanted from it. Don’t get me wrong I totally loved it and I did get some knowledge of the system…

I think it would be fun to have a contest to see who could find the biggest internal inconsistency in the books, i.e. when one book or section totally contradicts what jordan wrote in another section that can't be explained away by our knowledge of WOT. I can think of dozens of examples of when this happens (I guess jordan's only human!) but what do you guys think the WORST example is?? I guess I'll start us off by a couple: At the end of EOTW moiraine notes she should have realized Rand was the one that could channel because when they were leaving the two rivers, he unconsciously healed Bela (he was worried about egwene, who was riding her). However, Rand only g…

I know there have been a few sites put up to catalog the sword forms used in the books for RP use. My question i lay at the feet of the community here however, is do we know if something similar truly exists in real life. I know that RJ based a lot of things in his books on real life people, places, etc. I would love any information (websites, books etc) as to the sword forms used in the books, teaching materials (books, courses etc), anything really. I am a big lover of swords etc. and would love to learn the sword forms as a form of exercise. (also lets face it, they would look cool :D) Any information is appreciated and as far as the location of this post, i…

Welcome to the "I've finished the entire series just a little while ago and need to say something" thread. Need to laugh? This is your place. Need to cry? Bawl here. Want to [respectfully] curse at the ending? Go for it. Need to hug somebody? Find a friend and squeeze. Try and keep your reactions semi-short here. Longer responses can be saved for other threads. Ready? Go.

Okay, I'm also a member of Malazan Empire forum. Someone over there was asking for suggestions on another long, in depth series to read. Someone suggested WoT and it was met with almost scorn. People were saying that as compared to Malazan, WoT is like children's books! I just dont see that. I am really enjoying Malazan right now, but just because it's a little more confusing than WoT does not make WoT any less thorough or complex. I think it just shows how good Jordan is to be able to give the reader thousands of years of history in a way where you can still grasp what's going on.

So I FIINNNNNNAALLLLLLYYYY finished this series just today, after starting it YEARS ago (before Sanderson ever took over) I did a full re-read starting last August (2019) and am so glad I did. I have to say, I am blown away with how Sanderson was able to continue the story. I loved all three books, and I thought MEMORY was a very great and epic final novel. But all that said, I have to say I was extremely underwhelmed in the 20 page epilogue. I was afraid, after finishing The Last Battle chapter and seeing how few pages were left, that the ending would be rushed, and it was. I think after 14 novels spread over 20 years, these characters deserved a …

I don' know if this was covered in the books, but did they ever cover why Suian didn't have Logain executed after he was gentled? I don't think the other nations were that okay with him still walking around as a "guess" of the White Tower, example or no. Did she somehow sense that he was still ta'veren pre-Min's viewings?

Hello, I have a question I couldn't find an answer to and figured this would be the place to ask. I am an art institute student and am creating and compositing a myrddraal into a live action shot for a final but I'm not quite sure how the cape should move. I get not moving in the wind but I never thought much past that. The question is how much inertia would get transferred to the cape through his body? Would it behave like leather, cloth, somewhere in between? Any help would be great cause I'm stumped.

Has this been discussed before? What I'm saying is, has anybody matched the world of the books to our own? It is our world, after all, if only somewhat broken (at least once). Anyway, here's a map of the continent that the Westlands, the Blight, the Aiel Waste, the Waterless Sands, and Shara share. I'll continue with this, though I'd be surprised if it hasn't been discussed yet. The generally accepted distance from the Spine of the World to the Aryth Ocean is 3,500 miles. If we extrapolate that eastwards on the map, the Morenal Ocean is probably about 5,000 - 6,000 miles east of the Spine of the World. As this world is our world, just in some fantastic future, …
