(Modified Version) Hey everyone, I have noticed a lot of Faile-bashing over the years from many sources. As she has progressed to be probably my favorite female main, I wanted to put a couple of things out there that represent my position and hopefully give Faile a chance. 1: Faile, however controlling she may be, is only doing this for Perrin's sake. She could care less if she is viewed as important in the Two Rivers as she stands to (potentially as I can see both her parents and Queen Tenobia kicking the bucket in the final three books at least as a plot device to install Perrin on the throne) inherit the Saldaean throne. Nevertheless, she still already i…

:)just a crazy idea here but what if you could create massive 'air stillts' (or sumthing) and walk about on them? another idea what if you got a very powerful wind behind you and a airodynamic slab a air underneath you to glide about? or kept pushing at the air underneath you with more air(somehow)? Or just maybe the aes sedai flying about metioned in the age of legends refers to that black place which rand often goes into by opening a portal and then glideing on a silver platform? any comments?

Hi guys! Maybe you already know, the Eye of the World comic 1 was out about one month ago. In the Italian forum, we got very disappointed because of the poor work the Dabel Brothers Productions made with this number 1, instead the prologue was well drawn and coloured. If you haven't seen it yet, here is an instance of the artworks >:( We decided to send an email to the DB to complain about this issue: Dear Ernst Dabel, I’m writing as representative of the “Wheel of Time Italian Forum” in order to complain about the last comic of the mentioned saga. We noticed that the strips of the previous issue and the “New Spring” comics are drew …

So, I was walking my dog and something just came to me. I think Min is going to die. She has her ability to read the pattern, but she can't be read. So, she really wouldn't see anything coming. Also, Rand needs to find his humanity. What better way then to find the woman you are closest to dead. By the end of KoD he is definitely closest to her. She is the only one of the three that isn't pregnant, so less strings attached. I know that one of her visions is three women standing over a grave, but that is not necessarily her. That would be too obvious for WOT. It is just an idea, but I would love to hear other peoples thought. Thanks :)

Do you remember perrin's dream in the dragon reborn when he is in all of the crazy armour? with like the lion helmet or something. Do you think that is what Perrin would of looked like if he didnt throw away his axe?

i had a doubt about this...remember in Winters Heart when Rand goes to the bootmakers place to fight the renegade Asha'men and Ny lifts him and Lan up into the roof...well she only had to utilize half of the well so suppose that 2 powerful aes sedai are linked then they can easily make people of themselves fly a short distance right...maybe a circle of 10 can make them fly a longer distance...this can be used in the Last Battle when u have to kill Draghkar or other Shadowspawn or aim better in battles...just a thought...any comments?

  7. This came up a few days ago in the Gathering Storm forum, so I decided I'd make a more comprehensive post on the issue--specifically, what's the big deal with the borderlanders? So, the Borderlanders came south four books ago. Since then we've seen very little of them--they are mentioned alot, we meet them through Elayne, but nothing much actually goes on with them. That in itself has always said to me that something big is building there--and those things are about to come to a head. The reason now is the time is simple--Rand states that he avoided the borderlanders because he did not want to mess with Elayne's buisness. They are moving past Caemlyn right now, …

I apologize if a similar or identical topic for this has already been posted. I'm going through the series for the first time and am currently on book 5 and would rather not search through the forums where I might find an answer along with all sorts of unwanted spoilers I'm somewhat frustrated by the limited map(s) available in the books and am wondering if there is a good online source of more detailed maps (without spoilers). I discovered one which was quite nice, but also noted sites of important events (some of which occurred in a timeline more advanced than where I'm at currently in my reading), which I definitely did not want. Can someone point me …

hello everybody I just finished yet another read through and I really can't figure out who betrayed Egwene so she was taken captive in Tar Valon. Or to be more precise, I can't figure out who betrayed the person who was supposed to sabotage the Tar Valon harbor, because they clearly weren't expecting Egwene... Are there any big (or small ;)) theories on this?

I am on the 4th book The Shadow Rising of my 3rd re-read of the series and was curious about something, im not sure if this has been discussed here before or not but was interested if anyone had idea's about it. In Chapter 6 "doorways" Egwene and Nynaeve are interrogating 2 black sisters in the Stone of Tear when Moiraine and Elanye enter and Elayne is upset at finding out Berelaine has been in Rands bedchamber and feels guilty because she thinks Egwene and he are promised to each other. Moiraine intervenes and tells Egwene she cant be with rand and Egwene assures Elayne she only loves Rand as a friend/brother. After this Egwene asks Moiraine if she has eve…

Hello all, I have been working with my local comic shop trying to find issues 1-5 of new spring. Today I went in and they told me they had found the first issue. To my surprise it was not the first issue. It was the wizard world issue. I was wondering if anyone new anything about this comic. I googled it and could not find much info, other than that there where only 1500 printed. Also, if I posted this in the wrong area I am sorry. Thanks

I have read the WoT series twice and I am listening to the Audiobooks, currently on Fires of Heaven. I find that I love all the Male point of views, but that most of the female ones tend to annoy me. Now to clarify I am not saying I hate reading all the female parts. There are just a lot of scenes, particularly from Nyneave and Elayne, that really annoy me. Just how stubborn and stuck up they are in some aspects, and how they are always treating Thom and Juilin badly, and saying they don't need help then getting rescued all the time. I know a lot of this annoyance is because I am very familiar with the plot now and I am focusing more on subtleties with the char…

Mordeth was/is corrupt without being a darkfriend. Since his and Fain's merge, Fain also turned on both sides. Both descriptions might soon describe Masema (if he has not become so already). Taim might be another candidate.

  16. Reading TEOTW right now and I noticed a few things that slipped by me the first 9 times. In the Prologue Ba'alzamon is standing on the Island that will become Tar Valon staring up at Dragonnmount! When LLT is bringing all the power to him a beam of power strikes him from the Heavens! I found that odd. Morianne sure has to repeat herself over and over to Nynaeve about why she is doing what she is doing. "If the Dark One wants it! I oppose it!" Also I am quite amazed at the character development that's occured from the first book to now in relation to the three boys and the two girls from Emonds Field.

What do u think is the deal between Moridin and Shaidar Haran...i saw in some wot-encyclopaedia that moridin and shaidar haran never appear in the same room together.Anyways who do u think will kill Haran...he is perhaps as dangerous as Moridin himself...i'd want rand to kill him but my guess would be Logain

*KOD Spoiler..read at your own risk* When Perrin is planning the big rescue of Failie (I would have left her w/the Shaido myself), he coordinates several times with the wolves. I was all jacked up to see another wolf/Shaido confrontation just like Dumani's Wells. However during the actual attack, all the wolves do is howl during the daylight w/the fog as an indicator for Failie to go to the fortress. I felt robbed. Was this buildup/let down purposeful, or was it an oversight by RJ? ???

Does anyone or would you get a Wheel of Time tattoo? If you have what is it of? If you would what would you get and why? I am seriously considering a WOT tattoo... but I am going to wait until the series is done with. Not that I think RJ will disappoint but I just want to know who everything will turn out first.

No matter how long I read the books, I keep seeing them in my head as movies. Which inevitably leads me to casting questions. Today, I was reviewing the cast list for the new Rob Zombie movie, "Halloween", and saw that they had Tyler Mane playing Michael Myers. Dye his hair black, put a couple grey streaks in the locks, and tell me this guy doesn't look like Lan!

I understand the signs of the Mat Odin Parallel. (Losing an eye and the whole trickster thing.) But I don't understand why. Odin is so central to his mythologies, and even though Mat is one the main characters it seems like Rand or Lews Therin would be more deserving.

I have many different ideas/theories on many aspects of this, but here are two that just came to me. First, how do you think Rand is going to die? Assuming that he is whether he comes back after or not. Will it be a climactic power duel with Ishy backed by the Dark One? Fain's dagger in the back? A self-sacrifice, perhaps involving an inenr struggle? Lews Therin type suicide? I would love to hear some thoughts on this. But that got me to thinking, what if his death comes out of nowhere? What if his death saving the world is more symbolic than literal. Say, he dies...unexpectedly and in such a fashion as to inspire the armies of light to all out charge and win the day…

Im re-reading WoT in preperation for the release of the new book and a few questions have come to mind and I was wondering if anyone here could help answer them?? The first thing I was wondering was do we know how many Aes Sedai died during Elaida's Coup? And another thing that has been bothering me is when Rand is Attacked by a male Channeler prior to the battle of Cairhien, When he is on the wooden watchtower. I thought that a Channeler can only Channel at what he can see yet the flows extend far to the west, Rand assumes its Sammael. What do the rest of you think? Many Thanks.

Hi all Forgive me if this topic has been discussed before, but I am just re-reading WoT and am now at The Shadow Rising when something just occurred to me. Elaida's foretelling was that "the Royal Line of Andor would be the key to defeating the Dark One in the Last Battle". I initially always thought this to mean that Elayne would play some significant part in Last Battle, however, I think that I see a new light in the matter. "The Royal Line of Andor" is Rand himself. Again forgive me if this has been discussed before but Rand's mother was Tigraine, daughter-heir of Andor round about the time that Elaida had her foretelling. Am I right in this? N…

Can anyone tell me if this is land is EVER actually mentioned within the series? Wouldn't know it even existed were it not for the world map in the guide. Also, was anything ever said about it coming into play at some point or did RJ ever really even talk about it period? I've been trying to think of the purpose of creating a land that doesn't even get talked about. At least with Shara, whether or not its ever visited, there's a good deal of mentioning of it. Only point I see in the Isle is that it can be held up to us the readers as an example of just how horrific the world could've become.

Abit curious what people think happens, or actually how time affects you in this world. Forexample, entering places like portal stones or the ways, where time can slow, or go faster. How does it affect a human being. I mean ofc its relative to the outside world, but your body should still age normally right? Would it forexample be possible to enter a portal stone, live there for "30 years" and then when you come back out, it actually only have gone 15 years in the real world and you earnt 15 years in body age compared to everyone else.

I started talking about this in the other Aiel thread, but that is focused on military strategy and is turning into a flame war. Here are my opinions: I'm not saying that the wetland cultures aren't twisted as well, but RJ shows them as such - the torture chamber in the Stone, the way servants accept abuse and humiliation, the class dichotomy, etc. However, I see Aiel culture and ji'e'toh portrayed in a good light. I don't understand why.
