Who is he really, I know he brought the taint to Shadar Logeth, but how do the forsaken know him? Did he have some sort of connection with them at some time? Ziggdiezan's thread got me thinking about this and i am curious.

This is going to sound a bit stupid, but is there a weather man here? I am wondering about how the climate should have been IRL in Randland and other regions of the planet. Should the Aiel Waste in reality be a desert, or could it have been a like Randland. What makes Randland different that it is full of vegetation when the Waste isn't? This isn't your average weather thread. This might reveal how the climate is acting on that planet, like the sea currents and the wind currents, plus many other things.

I am rereading Crossroads of Twilight and I'm at the part where Perrin sees the town that the Shaido has taken over. I just can't remember how Perrin found out about forkroot. I know he got it from the Seanchan. Is that how he found out about it too? Most likely I will figure it out myself, but because I am impatient, if anyone knows, please help me.

Just re-reading through tFoH and got to the end of the battle outside of Cairhien. After the Shaido have been defeated and Rand has been roaming around using the power until he collapses Asmodean shows up and just before Rand blacks out Asmo channels at Rand. What does he do? Is he actually trying to help Rand or do we not know what he does? Also after that when Rand enters Cairhien and has the big procession theres a guy with them called Pevin, was that Sammael in disguise??

I would buy the graphic novel by Tor because you get extra bonus content, and probably it would be cheaper....

Reading some older posts an idea occured to me We know thats Sammael was taken my Mashadar, it is also likely that Mashadar was destroyed alongside Shadar Logoth. So is it at all possible that Sammaels soul is now free and ready to be recycled bt the Dark One?

So I was reading the news, and came across http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/05/26/montana.gitmo.west/index.html?iref=mpstoryview Apparently "Two Rivers" is a detention facility :) This quote made my laugh: "... challenges anyone who doubts the security at Two Rivers". I hadn't caught the name until that quote. In light of the recent re-read of tSR, and the battles of Two Rivers, I found that comical

This is for the passages you read and can't help but feel really awkward reading and be very glad you are reading it by yourself and to laugh about that. Here are two I had a great time being made to feel very awkward by. Egwene is thinking about observing her dreams in Winter's Heart and thinks she should not fall all the way asleep or whatever so she can observe the dreams as they come as oppose to waiting to wake and recall them... "...She thought it might help decipher what they meant. At least, those that were more than ordinary night fancies. -There were plenty of those, often featuring Gawyn, a tall beautiful man who took her in his arms and danced with …

I always wondered, since these lands were first mentioned, and how they have an excessive amount of women who can channel and monsters, giants, etc...if Rand will in any way be able to recruit them to his side, as he will ultimately have done with the Seanchan--thanks to Mat and his new connections. or, possibly, might they be recruited by the DO himself and be an enemy that Rand will have to face. Overall, I do not think we can rule them out, especially after that old man in Ebou-Dar (I think it was) said that he had been there and brought tell of those lands back into our memories. Either way, they seem an extremely powerful loose cannon.

:-[ Forgive the rant, but I REALLY have to get it out after bearing it for 8 books. seriously, at first, I did like him. But after 4 or 5 books, he has become exactly that. I believe I have a good reason too. Reasons actually: Aviendha, Elayne, Min and Lanfear. Enough said... especially Elayne and Min, who does it at first sight, and for no apparent reason rather than just the sake of it. Even Siuan Sanche said he was fairly handsome. OMG. He mixes the word 'weak' with 'horny', such as when he thinks of himself 'he's too weak to send her away.' ...so he keeps all 3. OMG. Three! I can see some of the author's personal desire at work here. Is this supposed to be…

So in KOD ch. 31, the Black Ajah sisters stun Elayne and co. with a bent black rod. From the sounds of it, it was some sort of taser. Are there any kind of tasers today that can kill someone at 100 yards? or is that just some kind of special AoL weapon?

Did they actually run away? Or they were killed by Careane and made to look like that they ran away. I think there is a darkfriend among the Windfinders and the Knitting Circle as well.

I am in no way supporting any hate crimes as that is wrong. but i'm a bit of a history student and I've always been amused at how the wheel of time and the whole religious mind set of the wheel of time series closely and I mean really closely resembles the nazi's religious beliefs.. even the wheel of time is a nazi facist belief.. that we are all traveling in a cirlce and certain indivduals come around in the pattern and set things right again. It is all found in historical nazi/facist Doctorine, further more I'm surprised not more people have made this connection but then again I am history lover. For those of you who love this series don't let this sway you as I am sure…

Maybe this is not new to you, but Tel'aran'rhoid is very close to lucid dreaming. And lucid dreaming's a real thing. I've known some of it but the friend that told me about it could do many more things, like controlling the dreams anyway he liked, and the dreams felt very real. After a few books, I've started to see the resemblance. Egwene either mentioned some or did some of those. Either RJ could do it himself or he did a very good research on it. Except for the fact that injuries and compulsion in TAR are carried over to waking, and that TAR is another reality, almost everything is the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream dream-initiated lucid dream…

Was looking at some yellow copier paper and had a flash back to Primary School German. Gelb. Florin Gelb. The snivelling guy that got thrown off Domons boat in tEotW and later on was kidnapping women on behalf of Egeanin in Tanchico. We all know RJ had a love for language, and also for American history and occasionally old sayings (maybe even from western films?) Gelb is Yellow in German as I'm sure most of you will know. Any coincidence that the character of Florin Gelb should be given the name Yellow, considering his "yellow-bellied" behaviour throughout the series. ;D :P Just an observation, and may actually just be coincid…

Okay, I'm not sure if this is the right board, but I just read the blurb for and saw the trailer for Dragon Age: Origins a game by Bioware and I just find it begets credibility that something can have that many recurring similarities (the terms are even similar!), without at least being a nod to (not exactly a rip off, I mean TWoT plotline in many ways is kinda vaguely generic, but the use of similar terminology and everything...). Any opinions? To be more specific, the title is Dragon Age, The bad guys come from the blight, the bad guys are called darkspawn, and the good guys have fallen apart and their protectors have been left to rot due to complacency.

At times when fiction has multiple groups, there is similarities in different things. This thread is to talk about similarities of different Wheel of Time things. Similarities to things outside this series are to be excluded from this thread. Similarities I found:: With Cairhien, Illian, Mayene, and Tear; the nation has the same name as its capital. Cairhien and Mayene, either a king or queen is its ruler. Illian and Tear, High Lords are part of its government. People of Cairhien and Tear (at least the city of the name) are often skilled at Daes Dae'mar. Andor, Seanchan, Atha'an Miere, and Aes Sedia; the ruler is always a female. Aes Sedia, Asha…

Does anyone have any ideas as to how the Dragon Reborn will be helped to die? For that matter does it even mean death, or is Rand going to survive even with the prophecy of the seanchan woman, with the great amounts of power, who will help him die.

Just an idle thought I had when going through Path of Daggers this time. If Rand where to find himself facing Halima, would he be able to kill her ???? On one hand, she currently wears the body of a woman :-\, on the other hand, she is Arangar, one of the Male Forsaken and Chaneler of Saidin >:(... So it comes out to whether he would consider her a woman or a man, supposing he realizes she was originaly a man... Anyway, your thoughts and speculations please...

OK so I have a question. It was said that when ever a tinker woman begins to manifest the spark they immediatly turn their wagons towards Tar Valon. But what is the status of the girl in the tinkers eyes? Is she dead to them like when one of them uses a weapon for violence like in the case of Aram or are they just kind of lost. Also those women I wonder what Ajah they would choose if the attained the shawl? Maybe Brown since they'd never have to leave the tower... or maybe white. WOuld they have a warder that would do violence for them? How would the Way of the Leaf influence such an Aes Sedai? Fire away.

There is a running thread through the books, mostly put foward by women, but re-inforced by the whole culture at some level. That Aes Sedai are to be shown respect on the level, or above that of Nobility. Almost all of Rand's trouble with Aes Sedai in Camelyn and Cairhein came from them not getting his "respect" One of the reason's Egwene has kept aloof from rand is because he doesn't show enough respect for aes sedai. my question is, why are people that were just lucky enough to be born with the channeling spark due such respect and authority? other than fear, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Is there an underlying religeous reason? given that they can tou…
