I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but how does everything think the Ways will be left... Will they be cleansed or left tainted?

In the DR, there is a scene where Rand attacks a merchant and her guards unprovoked. How does he figure they are dark friends? Whats the deal?

Quick question. I'm rereading the series right now and in The Fires of Heaven during the final battle scene between RA and Ishy in the Stone of Tear, Ishy opens the attack with a line of Balefire right at RA, who literally splits the line of BF into two, thus preventing it from hitting him and causing a lot of problems....big problems...... in any event, i was surprised that it was able to stop something as powerful as balefire and the only thing that I can come up with is that it must be made of Cuillander, and since nothing has ever been known to destroy cuilander, it split the balefire in two. Sound about right? any other theories?

Perhaps this has already been discussed, but I didn't come up with much by searching the forums. I apologize if I'm flogging a dead horse. I've been thinking recently that Rand is mad but it is the madness that is saving him. Because he's schizophrenic so to speak, he's keeping that seperation between himself and LTT. This would seem a good course because in order for prophecy to be fulfilled LTT must die. It also aint a bad deal for LTT being that he wants to die. I also recall Rand musing a couple of times to himself that only mad men talk to other people in their heads, or something of the like. The madness of Saidin has never been described in great d…

I apologize if this has been answered previously, but here goes. I was just listening again to TGH and noticed something: late in the book, in Falme, Min has a viewing of Nynaeve and Elayne. Over Nynaeve's head - a gold ring, which soon afterwards is identified as the ring Lan gave her. Over Elayne's - an axe and a hot iron. Min feels this is far in the future. Have these come up as yet in the later books? I don't recall anything like that, but maybe I have missed it. Thanks. LF

I had this thought from reading another thread but How will Min's Bond effect her age wise? We know that channelers live extra long lives. Alos i cannot remember any account of a warder dying of Old age while their Aes sedai was still young. So do Warders get the age longevity for their channeling counter part? IF so then Min should live just as long as the twosome she's with.(Assuming that Rand survives TG.) What do you think?

Since there are far to many pieces of foreshadowing to make a poll, we'll just keep this a thread. What is your favorite piece of foreshadowing? Personally, I like the game of Snakes and Foxes. It shows Mat how to handle things in Finnland, and Oliver continuously wanting to play, makes it seem semi-important, which we know now it is. Regardless, your favorite foreshadows?

They're basically made for each other! Lanfear wanted LTT. Demandred wanted Ilyena. Lanfear wants a man who is great and willing to be great whatever it takes. Demandred certainly has those qualities. OK, he might have been second but that's still quite great and like beauty, greatness is in the eyes of the beholder anyway. In the OP, Lanfear was the most powerful woman possible. As Cyndane, she is still close to being the most powerful. Demandred has always being close to being the maximum possible powerful man. Both seem quite intelligent, but are both subverted by some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder (Lanfear in her love, now hate, for LTT; Demandred in h…

In The Shawdow Rising, we see that Lanfear can use a disguise and not be seen. But later when The Spider is telling Nynaeve and Elyane about making a disguise that it works best if you keep changes small. Well,Lanfear is able to use the Kellie disgusie, now if Lanfear, Myriam, was the most beutiful women, in a time of great beauty, how did she pull that off? How she is described, is such a big change that Moraine and Egwene should have seen through it. How can this be?

Emond's Field is run by a group of men (name?), the Women's circle, and the mayor, right? So Rand and company have basically been raised around a governing system kind of like a semi-democracy/republic. Even the White Tower has a system of electing representatives, and the Amyrlin does not have absolute power. So why are all the characters okay with the monarchy stuff? ??? Rand goes around claiming places (yes, I know he's the Dragon and all...) and everyone's cool with Elayne becoming queen. Why? I would assume they wouldn't like the idea of kings and queens.

Someone asked me what i would do if i wrote the final book. In honour of my Five Thousandth post, here you are. A Memory of Light And there shall come a time; a dark time when true evil, shall visit the world. And low shall be people's hearts, for in this time they cannot challange parking tickets. Hark, the sadness. But fear not, for one shall come to fight the Darkness. And he shall be great, and very pretty. I mean... the dude shall have three wives. A total stud. So worry not. For light and polygamy shall come once again to the world. From the Cycle of Tarmon Gai'don (trans. A bit of strife with that dark guy.) …

Let's count now. How many WoT movie threads are there on just the first three pages of this discussion? 4? 5? However many there are, they all seem to discuss the same thing: Who should potray whom? Whilst all this is well and good, we seem to skip over the most important parts: Who all is behind the camera? Who should take on the highly chalenging tasks of... ...tearing WoT to shreads, figuring out the most pivotal parts, mixing them around, and putting it all back together again in a way pleasing to everyone, otherwise known as script-writing. ...take all the peices and part that you are given, story, tallent, technology, and combining them in the best…

I have no talked to 3 people who swear up and down RJ did not wirte but the first three books. Now, I find this very funny. Their supposed reason is that the people in the book have changed so much. Now of course, anyone who has read the series will notice a big difference from book 1 to say book 4, I argue with one of them on a weekly basis. I try to expalin that no one could have written it but RJ, you just get a feel for RJ's writing, and to think anyone would take over and use the same pen name is very iggnorant, imho. Has anyone else met anyone like this?

This is a post from a personal point of view, so anyone who's initial response is to scoff please go read some theories on Asmodean's murderer instead. I was watching MTV the other day, and was quite happily sat watching Justin Timberlake 'strutt his stuff'. Something was nagging at me. I've always liked JT but its always felt natural... the kind of support you'd give a friend who just happened to turn out to be good at something. Familiar. It occurred to me that I felt as thought I knew him. Now, i know that this could be put down to 'fan-following' but i'm 25 and have never been that kind of person! I started to thinking that he reminded me of someone. Someone…

I'm somewhat new to these boards but after I came here I've been paying attention to most of the active topics, and after reading through most of them, I'm left with a question: Is RJ's writing really up to par with the extensive scrutiny we expose it to in our discussions? I'm not saying it isn't good, I love the Wheel of Time, it's fun and intriguing, and what's more it really got me into reading, and reading english (english isn't my first language). But the series is a 17+ year project, and I'm pretty sure that wast parts of it has been made up as he went along. There are plenty of examples of that, Moiraines staff and stone, being a good one. In later years, RJ …

When Nynaeve balefired the three Myrddraal, why didn't Dailin and the other fallen Aiel come back to life? Egwene thought it was balefire, and judging by the description, I think it was.

Hello all, i know everybody here is still grieving for R.J (May his soul rest in peace) and althrough anxious to know, is considering bad taste about hassling anyone about the completion of the book... But as the wheel turns, nothing will turn back time and only future to look up to - i'd like to know how are things going. It has been almost a month since RJ passed away and nowhere any news of is AMOL going to be realesed at all, who is going to finish it and if, when will it be finished. Maybe some of you have contact with Harriet, his stepson Will or maybe someone else from the family? Maybe some friends in TOR? I tried mailing TOR books but no anwser still :( . So if a…
