and so the Tinkers are set on an eternal quest to find a song that will change the world and bring back peace. A song that will have the effect of making people feel contentment like under Avendesora so that no one wants to do anything but to laze around enjoying a somewhat orgasmic bliss. AWESOMEEEE. Now the question is....do you think they will find it? and if they do, what kind of song would it be? My personal view is that they will find the song. Although it would be a total anticlimax to TG if it simply ends the war like that, i think at least it will be sung after the war. Well obviously i'm talking about after the DO is totally wolloped by rand, the tinkers w…

I was just rereading TLoC and read the part where Dylin was telling Rand about Tigraine... and how she had a brother named Luc who went into the Blight and disappeared. Is the the same Lord Luc (Slayer) that we read about in TSR??? I get the feeling this has been talked about by everyone before and I'm just catching it during a reread. Has this been confirmed by anyone?

As TG is rumbling closer and I'm hoping Logain will achieve his glory in the series, does anyone agree with me that Logain will be the one responsible for saving Rand at TG? Basically I'm expecting Rand to run off on his own to fight the DO, get his bunny kicked and be left for dead bleeding on the rocks of shayol ghul, Logain, the loyal Ashaman and the AS sworn to Rand will Travel in and scoop him up for some Healing followed by a combined counter-attack. All opposed by Taims Black Tower and the Black Ajah. It doesn't get much more glorious than saving the DR at the very last minute. Any thoughts????

Okay, I'm brand new to this site, seems awesome so far, theres way too many forums to check out before I die in this life, so I guess i'm starting here. I love the WoT books, they are the longest and best epic that I've ever "read/listened" to. Problem is that while I'm in classes at the university, i don't have that much time to kick back and pick up a book, so I have been listening to the audio books. And I am getting a little worried. I've just started Lord of Chaos and now there is only the Crown of Swords before I'm onto Path of Daggers and I have not seen an audio book for Path of Daggers anywhere. It seems really weird to me that there are audio books …

I can't find much discussion regarding this, except indirectly, and so I thought I'd start one up. Myself? I feel that the DO cannot break free, as once he does that there will be nothing that can stand in his way, and he will be virtually unstoppable. On a side note to this, I believe that if he were to break free, this would give the creater the means to intercede, and force the Dark One back into his prison. However, I feel that this would destroy the world as utterly as if the DO got complete dominion over the world, as their struggle would be so colossal. Now, to get back on track, I think the only reason that Rand and the world have a chance against the …

in the great hunt, verin sedai went forth to meet Ingtar's horn quest saying that Moraine had sent her to look after the search party. However, when Rand confronted Moraine with the news in the end of the book, she had denied the truth. so who's lying? it is only possible of verin to do so if she reswore on the oath rod to free her from telling the truth. any suggestions?

She was hungry. It had been a long day, and no one had helped her today. She needed those helpings to catch up with the others. Food was essential. "Here is the cupboard," she thought, opening the door and rummaging around for some oats. "Ahh! Just what I needed! Food!" She backed out of the cupboard slowly. Suddenly, she heard a muffled cry from behind. "You! Noooooo!" Bela sat down to avoid any mishap in backing out, and felt a squish. "Oh well. At least I get my oats," she thought.

Who would you like to see star in his/her own Wheel of Time Out trigger novel? My top choices would be: Logain (along with some other Asha'Man) Thom(c'mon there have to be a million stories left to tell about this guy) Talmanes (Great character who has been left way underdeveloped) Olver (be interesting to see how this kid turns out) Uno and Regan (they must have had a few good adventures between TDR and LoC) Elyas (I'd like to read about his days and a Warder and why he left that profession). Bayle Doman (he's another guy who I get the feeling has some interesting stories in his past)

It seems like everybody is speculating on how Rand will survive the last battle. I can't remember where I heard the original theory, I think it was on the 4th Age, but here it is, with some minor additions/changes. If this was yours, thanks. And if this is posted somewhere else, sorry. I don't have all the detials worked out yet, but this is the general idea. I belive that somehow or another, Rand, Mordeth and Alivia will end up alone some where. Somehow, Rand's counsious swiches with Mordeth's. In other words we have two bodys and three minds scatterd thus: Rand's Body: Lews Therin and Mordeth Mordeth's Body: Rand A fight will insue, in which Alivia will…

What is the Morridin / Rand body switching theory? some guy on these discussions has brought it up like 5 times in the last week. I've never read anything about Rand and Morridin switching bodies, and as much as I've read the books I can't think of any of the foretellings or prephecies pointing to any such thing. Someone will have to explain it to me. I'm not even so sure that when Rand crossed Balefire paths with the Wonderer (probably Morridin) it started causing his channeling sickness. Is that somehow related?

Week 5 Question: Will Hurin the Sniffer return in any of the remaining books? Please? We miss him. Could you share some insight as to why you decided not to use him after The Great Hunt? Robert Jordan Answers: He'll turn up again. He hasn't reappeared earlier because the part he had to play was a sidelight to the main story. You should be able to glean some of what he was doing, what effect he and the news he brought was having, from the news that came out of the Borderlands in the books following The Dragon Reborn, though. anyone have any idea what RJ's talking about?

Re-reading LoC, every scene with Taim makes me SO ANGRY. Angry at RJ. Taimandred was a beautiful theory. Graceful, ironic, well-supported, and logical in all respects. Every thing Taim says, thinks, does is perfect reasonable from Demandred in disguise (his disgust over the pool of wannabe channelers waiting at the farm, indeed his disgust over the role Rand assigned him, things he knows that he shouldn't reasonably have been expected to learn on his own, referring to 'Traveling' which he should now have known, his general antipathy to Rand and scorn for AS). LTT's reactions anytime Taim is near (always wanting to kill him, saying how he would FINALLY kill him, and not to…

It always frustrated how quite everyone was about Rand and Nynaeve cleaning the taint from Saidin. I would think the Asha'man would be in an uproar! A celebratory one that is. I also think that if anything would bind the Asha'man (at least those loyal to the light) more closely to Rand, then him saving them from madness and death and symbolically defeating the Great Lord would do it.

Granted I'm only up to Lord Of Chaos, and don't know how things develop between the two but am I alone in thinking Elayne is a total bitch for thinking she can just bond Rand? It's a little presumptious and reflects a rather selfish personality. She gives him two letters with contradicting messages, flirts with Thom Merrilen and plans on bonding the fucking dragon reborn while he's sleeping? I think she's kind of a bitch.

I'm rereading the series and as there are not dozens of threads on here for Loial thought I would start one. I've just read the bit where Perrin is rallying the Two Rivers against the trollocs (just before the big fight where Devon Ride and Taren Ferry also come to fight), and found myself sat on the edge of my seat as they shouted Perrin to tell him there were 'figures' in the woods, running towards them, which materialised into Loial, carrying an injured Gaul (after they had been against Perrin's wishes to close the Manetheren waygate permanently). Loial had run for days to get back, with Gaul injured - they all cheered him on and I had to agree if i'd been in the house…

So I recently finished a re-read of the entire series. I love the series and think they are great books. After finishing them I was hunting for something new to read and seeing a new Shannara book on the shelves decided to do a re-read of the books starting with "The Elfstones of Shannara". What stuck me right away is how similar the description of the "Rovers" and the "Tinkers" of the two series. I have always maintained that the Shannara books seemed to "borrow" from older fantasy novels such as "The Lord of the Rings". How much So my question in regard to the Tinkers. Is there some historical foundation in our own human history that points to a travelling…

Acording to legend the Horn of Valere as to be used at the last battle to call the dead armies to fight the shadow at the last battle. Mat had already blown the horn meaning he was tied to it, the only one that could use it when TG came. After what happened in Rhuidean in the Shadow Rising, is Mat still tied to the horn?

There has been much speculation about distances bewteen locations and the size of certain places in Randland. Here is the link to a large map of Randland. http://www.fictionalworlds.com/FICWRLDS/WheelofTime/Maps/wotmap_large.htm Randland is a name adopted by fans to refer to the imaginary world of The Wheel of Time fantasy book series by Robert Jordan, and is derived from the name of the central character Rand al'Thor. More specifically, it often refers to The Westlands, the main area of Randland's main continent between the Aryth Ocean, which no character from the Westlands has been depicted crossing, and the Spine of the World; although forgotten places ar…

The taim=be'lal thread just up and vanished, so I thought I'd start another one. Everyone assumes that Be'lal is dead - he was balefired, after all. However, there is evidence that the DO may have saved Be'lal's soul and put him in a new body. "Impossible!", you say? Well, take a look at the evidence: 1) In a QOTW, RJ said that someone who is balefired cannot be saved by the DO "unless the amount of balefire used is very small". 2) Be'lal was balefired by Moiriane, who by her own admission could only burn a thread back a few seconds with balefire. Is the amount of balefire used by Moiriane a "very small" amount? It is possible. So, with this, we reali…
