In NEW SPRING , Moraine is checking on men who are extremly LUCKY,,, such luck being a sign of the ability to be trained to channel,,, the luckier a man is the more likely he can be trained to channel and the WARDERS are very lucky men... "al'Lan Mandragoran" is EXTREMELY LUCKY,,, as it says in NEW SPRING , and more than likely he could be trained to Channel... It would sure be fantastic if either "Moiraine Damodred", when Mat rescues her, or "Nynaeve al'Meara" were to have LAN tested and trained to channel and to use battle weaves on his way to "Fal Moran" and "Tarwin's Gap",,, also they could test and train other men in LAN's Army ,,, they are going to have Sev…

During my last reread my copy of The Eye of the World fell apart (does that mean I do too many rereads?) and I was wondering if I should replace it with the 2 part version. I just started New Spring so I may have as much as a week before I get to TEotW.

We know that Rand is the Heavyweight Champ of all channelers? What if the One Power was not a factor? Who in your esteemed opinion is the best fighter the wheel has to offer? Could Rand still hold the title based on his swordplay alone or would Lan cut him down like the dog that he is? Perrin, Mat, Agelmar Jagad, Bashere, an Aiel savage or even one of the Forsaken? Past or present who pound for pound is the deadliest beast in the WoT?

I'm sorry if this has been asked/dealt with before (and if it has can someone please post the link for me :) ) but how did Moridin see Aviendha unweaving the gateway in A Path of Daggers? As a male he should only be able to see saidin weaves. Is this a talent? (sweet talent would give you a huge advantage in a Power fight), is it a side effect of holding the True Power? Is it just a little creative lisence to further the plot by rj? Thanks for your input.

I think it's common knowledge that in AMoL we are going to discover that characters we have considered to be Light friendly for the entire series will turn out to be Darkfriends. So here's your chance. Put your money where your mouth is. I'm looking for your predictions. Who will be revealed to be a Darkfriend in AMoL? My prediction? Verin.

Just want to get opinions about this theory which most definatley could be way off so please tear it to shreads if you can.... but be nice :) I believe that it's possible that Machin Shin,in The Ways, is a twisted offspring of Mashadar, in Shadar Logoth. We all know that Mashadar kills people by some kind of consumption of the body and that Machin Shin devours your sould and leaves you as a dried husk. I believe that after Aridhol became Shadar Logoth due to Mashadar and the other evil, that Mashadar got into The Ways somehow, but because the ways are so different than the real world it was mutated. Now it's believed that Machin Shin was a result of the T…

In WH, chapter Blue Carp Street, we have Rand "springing" the trap by taking Lan with him to kill Gedwyn and Torval. They saw two blackened dead bodies when they entered from the roof and Rand knew that Fain had lured him there and killed Gedwyn and Torval already himself. Now let me quote from the books. Fain can apparently create illusions at will.

In the Prologue for "Crossroads of Twilight" we get one of only two POV's for Bashere. At the very end of the POV, he does something rather strange. What man? To what is Bashere agreeing? A few more of what or who? Has anybody seen anything in the rest of CoT or KoD to answer those questions?

in his blog rj mentioned tonight that he would like to finish AMOL and start on the outrigger novels including one which featured Mat and Tuon 5-10 years after the last battle. this obviously indicates that they will live, and answers the question of what they will be about.

Are there any races different than European and what are they in WoT- for example I think that Bashere is a Japanese therefore all Saldean people should be japs. And have always imagined Ata`an`Miere (I hope I wrote this correctly) as Indians or at least Indo-European.Oh and btw I am not a racist!!! :)

THE SPAM! Lately there have been quite a few of these stupid spam posts about pharmacy deals and online dating cr@p. Will the mods please jump on this. It's simply annoying. thank you. OK, now the real topic: If you could balefire any particular part of the series and have it redone or if there's a particular person or plot point that you think the story could do without, post it here. Or not. You could balefire this thread. Just balefire the spam as well while you're at it please. My pick for balefire change would be to trim the seafolk thread. I really don't care for it at this point. The death of the Amayar didn't really pay off as it should have because…

In essance, things that have to be closed. -Im under the impression that the Black tower can become good again, but others disagree. -Moirane, is a big one. As Min Predicted, if she is not there at or before the last battle, Rand will fail. 2 points: what will happen to Lan's bond if Moirane comes back, and Will Lanfear come back with her? -Egwene Al'vere becoming Amyrlin and commanding the Aes Sedai -The God forsaken Seanchan! im all in favor for raping them all the way back to the Islands of the Dead, but apparently a truce is being spoken of. About halfway through KoD, Rand orders Darlin kin of Tear, and all of the Tairens and Illianers back to the west…

I had asked my mom this question. Heres how the conversation went: "Mom, you said the taint on saidin was cleansed right?" "Yeah" "Then wouldn't the Ways be cleansed too?" "Hmm. Good question." No answer, so I decided to ask here, if they would travel the Ways again, would it be cleansed and like it was at first? And what exactly is Machin Shin?

Can someone describe what tuon looks like, aside from the book description. I am at a loss for what she looks like. As well I am the founder of a small independent film company based in canada and will be shooting several scenes from the wheel of time book series strictly as a tribute to Mr Jordan. They will not be used for any commercial use in the media, and will be sent to Robert as a thanks from a film maker for having been given so many great stories. We've shot two feature length independent films previously, one of which was considered a runner up for official selection by the director of the board.

I'm rereading the books because I've forgotten heaps of details, and I noticed in Chapter 36, The Daughter of the Night, of the Dragon Reborn, Rand kills a woman. When did his I'll-never-kill-a-woman thing come about, if it was not from the start? In The Eye of the World, Rand tells Mat not to kill that darkfriend lady, but now kills this one for her horse. Unless I'm totally mistaken. And then another man appears after he's killed the lady and her guards, and lined them up neatly  .. Who's this guy? Is all of this explained later on? Because I most certainly don't remember it! :?

Hi. First discussion post so please bear with me :D I hope I'm not retreading too much old ground but I did a quick search and didn't throw up anything. I think that Cyndane is a red herring and that she is not Lanfear. My reasons are many. 1. Iirc there has been no direct confirmation of this link 2. The difference in their strength doesn't ring true to me. It has been suggested that the reduction of her power (if lanfear is Cyndane) was as a punishment for betraying the Dark One with her plans to overthrow him (along with the mindtrap that Moridin holds). But Asmodean died the final death (confirmed) for a lesser betrayal. So if the dark one knows of her…

Bear with me because this takes some explaining. In tEotW we learn that the True Source aka One Power is the river that powers the Wheel of Time which in turns weaves the theads of people into the Age Lace. In DR Mo tells Perrin that the Creator is Good, the Dark is Evil, but the Wheel is Neutral. So, Mordin uses the "True Power" which can only be used by permision of the DO and not given lightly. Mordin can use Saidin also he just chooses not to. So that must mean there is a Creator Version of the TP, we'll call it Divine Power(DP) for now. I guess it is the opposite of the TP which causes pain and suffering even when used for "good" like when Ishy h…

Does anyone else rememeber that odd little exchange Rand had with Lan? Where Lan told him that sometimes the only way to win is to sheath your sword in your own body? I remember that that line struck me as really odd, and incredibly ominous. I sort of figured Rand was buggered after that point. What are your thoughts on this? We know Alivia will 'help him die', but I'm thinking it will be an active suicide attempt on his part in order for him to win. Or at least have things his way for once. Alivia just happens to overcome some technical difficulty perhaps? (Can't handle the sword on your own? Lemme stick it in your chest for you . . .) Anywho . . . what sa…
