Black Tower Divisions The divisions of the Aes Sedai are called Ajah's , but what are the Divisions of the Black Tower called??? AJAH's ??? please not that,,, that is a girly girl name... How about CLANS or Tribes maybe,,, what do you think ,,, I think Clans sounds manly enough for the Black Tower and the Asha'man ... But what would each Division be called to identify that particular division,,, the Aes'Sedai call their individual divisions by a color,,, White Ajah and Blue Ajah ect. ,,, but the Asha'man need to use a Different type of Designation that is for guy's not girls,,, like maybe: Bear Clan Eagle Clan Lion Clan Wolf Clan …

I am not sure how I feel about Rand getting his hand back, but remember who they caught when that all went down, Semi.. Who was mentioned to be the Best healer in the AOL so if anything perhaps she can teach them how to do the impossible.

Aes Sedai Warder Bond vs. Asha'man Kiss, what would happen if ? What would happen if an Aes Sedai used the Warder Bond on an Asha'man at the same time that the Asha'man used the Kiss Bond on that same Aes Sedai? Would it be like the Bond between Rand Al'Thor and his wives? or would it damage both of them? What if an Aes Sedai used the Warder Bond on an asha'man after she had been KISS'ed would it free her or have no effect? What if an Asha'man used the KISS on his Aes Sedai after he had been Warder bonded?

I've almost finished reading the WoT for the second time, and one constantly mentioned thing is a shift. Ive always pictured it as something like a one piece bra + panties, but i honestly have no idea. Anyone care to clarify?

All right. It's been bandied about in other threads, but I want to sort of get it into the open here: Who should die in AMOL? And who should LIVE. I am personally looking for an epic amount of main character death, though I don't see that really happening. Here's my list and the reasons. Death 1: Al Lan Mandragoran--everything else has been taken away, why not his life? it would be almost unbearable for a guy like that to live through the last battle and then have to deal with the world any more. 2: Gawyn Trakand--a personal thing. He's not nearly the bad ass he thinks he is and I think Hammar should have killed him during the insurrection in the Tower. …

I just finally after wanting to do this for years, looked up what kind of bird a heron is ... and I'm totally confused now! I always pictured it to be some kind of bird of prey - like a buzzard or falcon. But it is a long legged stork like bird that lives close to the waters - Reiher for all the German speakers, who are as clueless as me :-) So what is the story behind this - why a heron, ok I think it catches fish - so it is not totally harmless but not exactly a symbol of fight and war :-? Any explanations - also any images anywhere how these marks look?

I came across a though after some thinking recently. Many assume Mazrim Taim is a darkfriend why else train private troops, seperated from the main of the Tower and behave in the strange fashion he does. I want to put forth another theory. As we know Mazrim Taim thinks very lowly of Aes Sedai, and in book 6, he even asks the Lord Dragon if he may go to Caemlyn and dispatch them (kill them) since their vicinity to his training farm (soon to be Black Tower) irked him. And then at the end of book 6 again he publicly humiliates the Aes Sedai with his half famous quote, "kneel or be knelt." Also then capturing the Aes Sedai that assaulted the Black Tower, and p…

Sorry but this is actually in reference to dragon reborn ie book 3. There was one point where Rand attacks this merchant women and the people around her for apparently no reason. After killing them he takes one of their horses but not before he rearranges all their corpses to kneeling postrate to him. He notes in passing that their was one more corpse than he had previously counted. From this we can infer that the extra guy was a grey man. It is possible that the whole group was darkfriends. But what prompted Rand to attack? He certainly could not have known that they were darkfriends. He also could not have known that the grey man was with them since the grey man…

I completely believe that Olver is actually Gadial Caine(I know that is probably not spelled right). There are just too many simularities between the two of them. The fact that both are short and ugly, yet have a way with women. Olver growing up around the Band of The Red Hand will give him the background he would need to become a legendary warrior such Caine, and Bridget is drawn to him. People argue that the time frame is off because Olver is around ten years old, yet I still maintain that time has no bearing on people who live outside of time in The World of Dreams (such as Bridget and Caine). I have not mentioned this theory in a long while because it was so negative…

I think sonmewhere in the book they say when the one power is channled into the seals they only grow stronger(not just the seals but all of the stuff the seals are made of cundaria) So why doesnt a fun circal of 13 just channel into the reamining seals and make them stronger.

do people here get bothered by the things regularly mentioned negatively about the series? the main complaints seem to be the over description of what every person is wearing to the minute detail and the sexist comments (both men and women) all the time. it used to annoy me, woman rolling eyes at everything a man said, man complains with steroetypical response etc. but i got used to it. how bout you lot? (i'm not complaining, i love the series )

This has probably been discussed before, but I couldn´t find any topics about it so here goes...... What´s up with Perrin´s, Mat´s and Rand´s silly inability to harm women, even those who are trying to stick knives into them? I mean, take the Moiraine/Lanfear confrontation for example. Rand was incapabe of killing Lanfear just because she was a woman, even though she was one of the Forsaken. What kind of horrible brainwashing do they put boys through in the two rivers to produce such a stupid and illogical weakness?

No one in the tower right now knows where the horn of valer is. Only people outside the camp. So they have to take the white tower and than go. Also i bet they are going to try to blow the horn and nothing will happen and matt will just walk up and take it.

Do you see this happening in book 12? I mean if Moiraine is going to be with anyone I think it would be Thom. He is quick, intelligent, kind, etc. There really isn't much of an age difference except for Moiraine's ageless Aes Sedi apperance. I mean Thoms seems to care about Moiraine and he is always saying what a fine woman she was. So anyone else see this coming?

I doubt it's very important but do we ever figure out what/who/why there's a single fly in T'a'r? Rand senses it when he's in the void and enters T'a'r in the flesh and I just wondered if there's any signifigace to it (there's very rarely something that RJ throws in that doesn't have some signifigance). Anyone?

Ok, so we have seen that the first oath is malleable. People can swear "If you dont do this ill use your guts for a belt" or whatever and not have to do it. Oaths of fealty dont constitute total control such as with Rand, oaths of fealty can be abandoned when the situation changes such as with Beonin. Yet despite this in general the First Oath must hold without some very interesting mental logic. So here is my question how did Elaida get out of her agreement to 'do as she is told'. That fairly black and white to me. She told Alviarin that she would do as she is told. It was a blanket statement that doesn't have any contextual clauses or wriggle room. So how is it …

In the FAQ when it discusses Mat dying twice, it talks about when he dies in Camelyn and Balefire brings him back. What book is that in? I wanted to re-read that chapter. Let me know, thanks.

Why is Callandor diffrent? The AoL's could have completed it but instead left it without its safety buffer that prevented you from drawing too much power(also magnified the Taint). This leads me to believe that Callandor was designed this way on purpose, but why?

I know the Forsaken are supposed to be unlikable because they are evil but sometimes you can't help but enjoy even the evil characters. Tell which of the Forsaken is your favorite and why. I would have put the full list but the poll will only let you do so many options and it doesn't go up to thirteen.

As has been stated by RJ himself Olver is not Gaidal Cain. We know that he was spun out of Tel'aran'rhiod sometime in FoH so the timeframe doesn't work since Olver was born8 years or so earlier. So, my though. Elayne's child is Gaidal Cain. 1) Timing, yes he was ripped out in FoH, but who knows it may take some time to be merged into a fetus or however its done and time works different in Tel'aran'rhiod. In any event, her pregnancy takes place after we see Gaidal. 2)Brigitte's reaction to the Elayne's child leads her stop wanting for Gaidal. Of course from Rand and Elaynes descriptions I can't fathom how the child could end up ugly.

I just thought this up i am probably completely wrong about this, but i was wondering what she might teach Rand and the Ashamen that Saidin was not completely cleansed and that there is still some of the taint left there. She could find this out by linking with an Ashaman when one of them is using Callandor.. First post so rip it apart.

I've seen this mentioned so many times but i have yet to see where/when/why this is a accepted outcome. I've read the series many times, but i've never gotten the feeling that Rand and Moridin will merge. Does this idea come from the Min viewing where she says Rand and someone else will merge to become one? (not the correct quote but close enough)Or is this something RJ has said will happen?

While "guesting" the forums, I had a thought. I'm not quite sure if this is a repost or not as I can't possibly read everything on the forums in a night. So sorry if it is. Seriously. There are numerous occasions where Lews Therin asks for release from the voice within HIS mind. This leads to the question, "Does LT think that Rand's mind is his own, or is it possible that the 'Wheel' is allowing some overlap between times and both characters hear each other's thoughts between times?" Is this a telepathic link that connects similar souls between times? If the link between times explaination is true why can't Rand hear the other dragons thoughts? Those after Lew…

Egwene vs Cadsuane Egwene has held her own against the rebel Sitters (Romanda and Lelaine specially). I would really like to see how Cadsuane reacts towards Egwene, the child Amyrlin, when they finally meet. Rand vs Tuon I have trouble picturing Rand kneeling to the Daughter of the Nine Moons. With Mat beside his wife, It would be pretty interesting. What do you think?

I'm surprised no long discussions about the darkone and what he will be like. This is my first post but I have been following the books for years now. When I finished the last book. I was thinking ...the DARK ONE had better be something else! I mean when he breaks free 60 million trollocs had better explode out of the blight. If he can't kill 250 ashaman and aesedai with the twitch of an eyebrow, and if 2 million people a day don't just fall over dead for two weeks after he broke free I will be disappointed. 11 books of anticipating the DARKONE and in book 12 he had better be nasty. He can't just be evil...he has to take evil to another level. The book should be 3000 page…

There are several things in the books that have given us an idea of what will happen to Rand in the last book so what is your opinion? Personally I think that Robert Jordan has given us as much as he can to allow us to figure out the basic plot of the ending. He has shown time and time again he will put a character into a position where all of the odds and even prophecies are against the character and then still make the plot twist so they still come out on top while fulfilling every prophecy put forth. I think that the phrase To live you must die gives us a base for this line of thought because while the phrase may make living seem hopeless it does say, to live, fi…

RJ asks you to re-write the entire series; what storylines, characters, or powers do you change? The following topics are ones that I would adjust- 1) Remove land of madmen and shara from the story- I've never understood why they are in an end of a world epic, when they are probably not going to affect the outcome. 2) Tone down a few of the character traits- Example: Faile is a great character, but she does get on my nerves every now and then. Not every character or person for that matter has an amazingly strong will and an outspoken attitude. 3) Action Rand Action- I enjoy the political intrigue, but to me the best chapters are when Rand is fighting or …
