If you were to make a movie on the WOT series, with what ethnic groups would you represent the nationalities? For Instance... -Andor would have to be English (look how they swear!) -All of the nations west of the Spine would be dark haired and dark eyed, since the Aiel are described as the only people ever seen with fair hair, and rand is the only wetlander with gray eyes. -Borderlanders would be japanese (warrior topknots, code of honor) -Cairhieniens would be medival english (con, game of houses -Tairens is a pickle, since they have the really muddy outfit, and the bamboo, but theyre really tan. -Ditto for the seanchan. They dress like Samuri, but they dont ta…

Here's a crazy thought: It's our world! Look at all the things comparable to our world, the things taken from existing cultures, the memories of Lews Therin about big buildings and planes, Sammael mentioning how sad he is not having something probably resembling a gun to arm his army with... Has this idea already been mentioned? if so, please do tell.

I just finished tFoH for this reread and i was wondering about the shield that rand had when they kidnaped him. Rand alwasy tell us about 6 soft point that hold the shield and when that turn hard it means its knoted and he can break through it. In the battle of Dumai's wells he feels 4 being knoted and then 1 returns to soft. Does that mean that the aes sedai are not linked when they shield Rand? If they are linked then it should be one focus point from the 1 controling the link no? if they arent linked then how can they make 1 shield together it doesnt make sense... unless its 6 shield piled one on another? which option do you think? im thinking the 6 shield…

When suian and Lian were stilled and Nynaeve wanted to study them she made them put Moghedien's a'dam. They felt her but they couldnt channel through her or make her feel anything. When Mat brought the a'dam for Joline in the the Wandering woman basement Settale tried it with Joline and after 2 steps Joline fell on the ground with pain and agony until the a'dam was off. What do you think it means?

If Robert Jordan can stand it, I want to have a whole separate series on the Seanchan. They seem very interesting. Maybe start with a very minor person in the Seanchan, make him a captain or such, have him be a part of the forerunners, describe his thoughts about Randland, meet a girl from randlanad...Etc What about Shara? Land of the Madmen? Unless RJ plans to spend the next 5-10 yrs writing books, i doubt but i really wish i could get more... How about another series related to WOT? ideas ppl?

i've read other people's ideas about this, but how much time has passed in the series? by my calculation, it's been 1 year (EotW opens in the late winter (April?); then TGH and TDR happen within about two months (up to beginning of July?); then TFoH sees the drought, which carries on into what should be the fall; then the Bowl of Winds is used in PoD in what should have been the fall already (beginning of November?); the winter storms are striking up in the sea in chap 21 of PoD (beginning of November?); then WH is obviously in the winter, and then once the Choeden Kal are used (mid-December?), it's been 12 days by the time the prologue of KoD comes around [tsutama: "…

Seriously what do Trollocs eat. I don't see them as having run enough raids to feed hundreds of thousands of trollocs for the past three thousand years. And their numbers would not grow if canabilism was a primary source of food, so what is it that they eat, some sort of shadow spawn farm animal that can survive on the vegitation of the blight is all that I can think of.

In Lord of Chaos how did Leane and Siun both go to Tel'Aran'Rhiod at the same time? They did it before they were healed, and the only dream ter'angreal Elayne made should not have allowed them to enter without channeling. So how did it happen?

re-reading "knife of dreams" & noticed something. In Galads battle with Valda, he uses the old "flame & void" consentration power-trick. It was describing Galads sensations very much the same way its described when Rand reaches for the source. What im wondering is basically: Do we have a channeler here? Or is that just the way flame & void workes for both channelers & non channelers?

Lord of Chaos, last page of Chapter 11: "It's time you started raising an army of your own instead of depending on others. Bashere could change his mind; he will, if Queen Tenobia tells him to. And who can know what these so-called Aiel will do. This time he paused...After a moment the man went on as if he had never brought up the subject." I don't know if this has ever been asked, but would anyone not from the Age of Legends say "these so-called Aiel"?? who is this guy if RJ has confirmed that it's not Demandred, and is there anything stopping the Dark One from bringing back a dreadlord from the Age of Legends? Could Taim be Moridin/Ishy?

I don't know if this topic has been used before or not, but here goes. "I forget nothing, Aes Sedai. I said six could come, but I count nine. I said you would be on equal footing with the Tower emissaries, and for bringing nine, you will be. They are on their knees, Aes Sedai. Kneel!" I don't know about anyone else, but I love to see the high and mighty get put in their place. Please post your favorite quote!

I'm in the middle of a reread and I noticed in book 4 when Nyneave and Elayne arrive in Tanchico and Domon recognizes the girls from Falme he doesn't seem to remember Thom as the gleeman who jumped aboard his vessel near Shadar Logoth with trollocs chasing them in EotW ....anyone else notice this or have any info on it? Seems like a slip on RJ's part?

Ok this topic has plenty of "ifs" in it but please bear with me. Suppose the Light wins TG. Rand no longer exists as a proper political entity but the other good guys stay alive. Now, here's the problem. How will all the land be shared? I mean, currently the Seanchan and the Aiel are pouring into Randland. And let's not forget that to the Sea Folk, the time of illusion is over. The Aiel have to settle somewhere, cause I don't think they or the mainlanders are ready to share land, although we have seen that happen in Caemlyn/Cairhien. Should Rand survive and still be physically and mentally fit, he may lead the Aiel as the Car'a'carn, if they accept him of course. …

i dunno whether this has been discussed here, but it's my first thread so i thought i'd start with the obvious. in KoD, when Rand met Semirhage, she tossed a fire ball his way. and all he did was raise his Dragon Scepter at it. real smart move, idiot! i can imagine his train of thought at the moment:- 'Oh Noes!!11 There's a freaking FIREBALL comming right at me!... Oh I know! I'll raise my Dragon-patterned-popsicle-stick. The Fireball will see that I'm the Lord Dragon Reborn and will stop dead in it's tracks and bow down to me before reversing direction and flying back at Semirhage. Yess... It's a good plan... Now, this may have been said before, but I'm new(Infact, ijust read the series over the last two weeks), so I thought I'd mention it. I'm sure someone noticed this before fans settled on the name "Randland", but i was flipping through my paperback of The Eye of the World, and I noticed something. RJ might have never directly named his universe, but he may have named it indirectly before the first chapter was ever even read. Doesn't that sound like RJ? At the end of the prologue, there are two passages of prophecy. The first, (The Shadow fell upon the Land...)states underneath: I'm assuming here that "The Breaking of the World" is a translation of the Old…

Is it just me or have the forsaken become just not scary anymore? We know that Nyneve as strong as the forsaken, and The Dragon Reborn is much stronger. On top of that if some Aes sedai are linked the forsaken are weaker as well espesially if a man is linked to them. Are the Forsaken over and done for or are they still a power to be feared?

I just thought of something. I don't know why but I always get the image of the Jedi when I think of the Aes Sedai, and we know that both grow in strength of the power the more they practice and they more time they have. So my question is, when Moriane comes back "from the dead". Is it possible that she will have a significantly greater strength in the power perhaps. I'm just quessing right now, but if anyone has any ideas about that, or perhaps about any knowledge she may have acquired while with the Finns please share it with me.

What if we look at Alivia helping Rand to die in a different way? Let's say she doesn't actually assist him in accomplishing his own demise. Let's say, instead, that she helps him appear to be dead. Remember: Rand on a funeral pyre, but it's not really Rand. Three in a boat (Min, Elayne & Avi)... I think they're mourning Rand or he's also in the boat, but dead. Could Alivia pose as the dead Rand (disguised with the power, weaves inverted)? Could she be sacrificing herself? Or, perhaps lying in wait, with her ability to weild the power cloaked? My guess is yes. It seems to be a big trap or diversion (as in "Sauron, look this way!") that allows Rand to do what …

Although i'm of the male homo sapiens species, the 'homo' does not illustrate that i'm bent so pls don't get any wrong ideas. I've made this a bit easier because i've learnt that you girlies are more "sophisticated" and would undoubtably deny things like one-nighters. So you have a choice between a relationship and a 1 night playtime aite? pls post back to tell us which one you're choice is about.

Dont you feel every time you read some forsaken's pov that they are playing Suvivors with the Dark one being the producer and Shaidar Haran the host? I mean, you got people who are being eliminated (mostly by rand and moiraine), you got the people being voted back, you got the secret alliences that will last until they are the only one left, and then you got Moridin that always get the immunity... I was just watching it on tv and then i read the book and it was very similar. will the final chapter be in the next book? who will be eliminated? who will switch sides? all in aMoL...

When Moiraine gave Thom that letter, Thom kept reading it and reading it. Thom told Mat that it was from someone special. In the letter it starts off with "My Dearest Thom" or something of the like. Did they have some type of past relationship that occured, because to me it kind of came out the blue that Thom and Moiraine were so fond of eachother.

i think i know how the Wheel of Time will end but with not great detail. We all know that the Ages on the wheel turn so they reacure so to lock up the Dark One Lanfere isn't dead and Rand will with some aid finnaly get over his fear of harming women and use bale fire so strong that Lanfere will cease to exist therefore not creating the hole in the Dark Ones Prision and the Prophosies of the Dragon will come to pass because the world will surely be destroyed because it will be a world withought the Dark Ones influence. Feel free to disagree or argue or to tell me i am an idiot
