Alright I've been mulling this around in my head for some time and I've finally come up with an answer to how someone can use the One Power to directly fly. The problem lifting yourself up with simple flows of Air is a physics problem. Similiar to trying to pick up your own feet it cannot be done. However some people may state that using massive flows of Air like a jet propulsion thingy is one way however that too would be very difficult for even the strongest Aes Sedai. Instead you must detach yourself from the Earth's pull of gravity using weaves of Earth and possibly Air. Then all you would have to do is use jets of Air to propell yourself. It all has to do wi…

A few month ago I remember seeing a list of accents with which the people of various nations of Randland spoke. However, I can't seem to find it again. Does anyone known where I might have seen this?

Just a theory i have, Im sorry if it has already come up or i missed a bit from the books, etc... but is Masema Demandred? these are three of my reasons. 1)He is creating chaos under the name of the dragon reborn. This is exactly what the black ajah (and their masters) wanted taim to do but Rand hired him instead. 2)We have seen from Semihage and Mesaana the the forsaken have no trouble hiding from eye by inverting weaves and the mirror of mists, etc. 3)He seems pretty anxious to reach Rand. Demandred would definetly love to be close to Rand im sure. As ive said if ive missed something in the books im sorry and if you could just inform me what ive missed =)

I'm currently semi-arguing with someone in WoTMUD about Fades and Shaidar Haran and the True Power. He was commenting on how there are no Female Fades. Why is this? He also commented that Shaidar Haran uses the True Power and has saa. Can anyone prove/disprove this with exact quotes/page numbers? He also claims that all Foresaken, Moridin, and Shaidar Haran can see the True Power in use as well as where it has been used. Can this be proved/disproved by anyone? I've tried looking, but frankly don't know where to look and my entire series is on loan to a friend. I really appreciate any possitive help.

I was just rereading some of the books, and I was just thinking how cool it would be if every main character that left in the group in EotW (Rand, Mat, Perrin, Lan, Moiraine, Egwene, Thom, Nynaeve) would all be together in one big scene in the last book. It would sort of show a sense of completeness, as in "look how far we all have come". Plus it would just be awesome to see them all together again... what do you guys think?

I would love to see some of the Asha'man, become Aes'Sedai, and some Aes'Sedai become Asha'man, but I do not believe it will happen. Although I would not be surprised to see them eventually work to share weaves.

Well u see how Rhudiean(sp) was returned to a city and now there is a big lake next to it. Plus that hole new age things and stuff like that. Would everything return back to normal. Like the Aiel waste return to a see like dare i say Asmodean said it was? Another thing with that. Could the DO possibly forget everything, like Rand and all other mortals and such? cause then he would never have an exrta hold on eveything. Er i cant remember what i was getting to but somthing about the DO forgetting, there for making the terrain back to normal?

They have a connection since their balefires crossed each other in Shadar logoth. Ever since then Rand nausea have only gotten worse even after the cleansing. The other forsaken thinks Moridin a fool for channeling the true power so frequently. My theroy is, that this connection between Rand and Moridin may also draw the Saa from the true power over to Rand, increasing his nausea and his difficulties channeling.

Hey, what if the reason Avi and Rands babes seem different to Min, is because Rand will be in Moridin's body when they're concieved? The fact that she has kids by Rand gaurentee's that he'll make it past the last battle, but what if that's the reason?

I know that they were an unintended side effect of creating Trollocs, but if they hadn't come into existence, Trollocs would have been uncontrollable and fairly useless in battle (though good for causing mayhem and distruction). It seems like serendipity to me, a real boost for the dark side. But if anyone understands Aginor the Awesome better than me and can explain this, I would be most grateful!

So um, yea I figured i'd make a thread dedicated to how cool those things were.. Also, did anyone else just love picturing a lot of trolloc parts flying down on some random farmer's house going "What the blood and bloody ashes was that?!" Anywho, Awhile ago someone asked rj in one of his q&a things, about making gateways at angles, and he said it was possible, just no ones figured out the weave.. Well we now know, what he meant. =)

I apologize if this has been discussed already and I didn't catch it, but I have a question about dreadlords...everybody expects that TG will involve fights on the order of the War of the Shadow, with hundreds of dreadlords and such. This is not necessary (I mean it's not necessary to the story that there be hundreds of dreadlords), but if it is what TG is going to be, then who are the dreadlords and where do they come from? They're supposed to essentially be the male equivalent of the Black Ajah (or am I mistaken in thinking they're simply darkfriend channellers? I know I read something that led me to believe they were essentially the channellers that weren't good eno…

So... feel free to flame me if this is a double post or whatnot, or just admin delete or whatever but... Alot of topics in these forums seem to touch on Basheres loyalties and possible secret agendas, etc... so heres a place to colaborate it all. I personally think that he is on the shadows side. I do not believe that it has been so since his introduction as was the case with Intgar. But I think it would be RJ-esque to bring something like that in as a twist. Not a super origional plotline, but one that would cause a decent amount of trouble and headaches in the world... comments, flames, hugs all welcome:P

I wonder if there are other members that listen to the WOT audio books. I have read the print versions and really loved the books. Now I have listened to the audio books and gained a whole new level of appreciation. Tell me what you think. I think we need to promote these books in audio format.

OK here goes my crazy theory for how the last battle will go down, more or less the lews / rand one of them dying issue... Facing off against the dark one, Rand manages control of saidin over the loveable Lews therrin. Linked to Nynaeve on tremalking (female access key toast, only way possible to beat the D.O. in a firefight is to stand ground at tremalking, remember lans advice about making an enemy come to you). Dark one decides to nuke rand something shocking with some kind of super powerful, pattern ripping, direct blast of the true power. Rand CANT SEE THE WEAVES so cannot block it. The blast isnt aimed at rand's body though, it strikes his soul (the DO doesn…

Checked the FAQ for this, but didn't find anything about it. How is black cuendillar made? All the new cuendillar that has been made has been white, yet the Seals on the Dark Ones prison are half black cuendillar. I thought maybe men's cuendillar might be black but then thought that if women refused to help with the sealing that surely they wouldn't help make the Seals, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Has RJ covered this at a signing or in a QotW?

I have talked to many WoT fanatics and one of the things many people dont agree on is weather rand will die during or at the end of TG. there are three catogories of belife the first that he will die during or at the end of TG the secon being that he will live and lewis therins(sp) conchesness will die and the third that rand will be driven crazy by lewis therin and the taint that still seems to be apart of him thus breaking the world (again) and killing him self in the proces

Just an interesting tid-bit I came across - I was reading up on the history of the Paladins, the royal knights that served as retainers for the king Charlemagne, and I found out that one of the recurring characters in the medieval stories and romances surrounding these warriors was called Ogier the Dane...recognize the name, anyone?

I have this thought that keep coming back that cadsuane may be black ajah! My evidence for this theory is: New spring - Moir. hers a statement from cadsuane that she knows is a lie Cadsuane has sought up all the false dragons and let them roam free("let the lord of chaos rule") She still lives. If she would be bonded by the 3 oaths she would be dead long ago. But then I just cant figure out what her purpose with Rand is, somehow it doesnt fit. Any thoughts?
