You know she promised Mat that if he helped her escape she would "do anything" he asked of her even to betray the tower. To me coming from an Aesedai that is as good as swearing fealty. Yet after he gets her out of Ebou Dar she doesnt seem to help him as much as she can. This kind of ticks me off you know? All the trouble he has from the three of them, at least she should be bound by her promise to do what he says. Maybe she can get away with it because he hasnt specificaly asked her to do anything, but wheres the BLOODY Gratitude I ask you.

I don't have my books with me, so I forget the names of the Aes Sedai who talk about this. Many times there is talk of the vileness that happened after the Aiel War. Does anyone have a clue as to what the "vileness" could be?

  3. Something that I am curious about is how an Aes Sedai that is leashed to an a'dam can be used as a weapon after swearing the Three Oaths. I dont believe I have seen any instances of this yet, but I'm wondering if it would be possible. I know Nynaeve used Moggys ability so she herself could channel but doing it the same way would force all the sul'dam to acknowledge that they themselves are capable of channeling, wouldnt it? I would imagine that leashed Aes Sedai would be worthless to the Seanchan because they wouldnt be able to channel against someone not attacking them. Dont they have to be in danger of their lives? I wonder how they would get around this. Anyo…

Tuon's Shadow...We keep getting hints that there's something strange and...menacing about her. Thom apparently has seen what it is in the hell sequence, but we don't. Tuon almost reigns her in when she approaches Mat with her bare hands open, as if Tuon were concerned that she might kill Mat. What is the secret? My guess is that she's a gholam.

heres my theory on this: Since Taim has baicily broken the Black Tower my theory is that Logain kills Taim and then becomes the M'hael so any comments on this theory?

  6. For several years now, i have been studying and researching several versions and old manuscripts/copies of old manuscripts on the Holy grail, and in one of them, I uncovered asn interesting section. A knight, nascien has been transported to the mysterious Turning Isle where he sees a ship. this ship, acording to the manuscript is furnished by Solomon fvrom the Tree of Life, which grew from a branch/cutting of the Tree of Knowledge. Now, Avendesora is associated with Yggdrassil, the Norse tree of Knowledge on which Odin hung on for nine days to get knowledge 9associations with mat C.) and from a cutting of Avendesora grows Avendoraldera, which Laman eventually cuts down …

Ok, this has been bothering me ever since I read the scene in KoD where Rand looses his hand. I know its not a major thing in the grand scheme of things and that RJ must have had a reason for doing it, but...Why couldn't Rand or Logain have used balefire on Semirhage (sp?) to get Rand's hand back? If using balefire on Rahvin (I think?) brought Mat and the others back to life, couldn't it bring Rand's hand back? I know Cadsuane forbade him to ever use it again and that they prolly want to question Semirhage, but things like that have never stopped Rand before. I have absolutely no idea why it bothers me so much that Rand lost his hand, prolly something to do w/ his bei…

Something has been bugging me for some time. Why didn't, in times of need, like the Trolloc wars, Aes Sedai bond thousands and thousands of warders? They would all have the benefits. I would put a warder army on par with any Aiel army. I could butcher the Shadow. I mean say thirty thousand people as good as say, Tomas, would be nearly invincible. So why didn't the Aes Sedai do this? Insanity, power degradation, what?

Just came to me as i was writing a post for the WOT movie... Go back and read the intro to tEotW. A fact list: The dark one is sealed. He cannot touch the world His forsaken have been sealed with him, they sleep untill the Dragon is reborn. All men have begun to go mad, the Hundred Compainions are no more to speak of. The question: Who is the mysterious shadow charecter? Let there be discussion. Plausible theories: 0 so far.

Hi ^_^ I just had a quick question that maybe you all could help me with. Does RJ ever say in the books whether the Wolfkin's eyes are all yellow? Or is it just the irises? Or is it something else? If someone happens to recall an exact description that would be great. Thanks. ^_^

  11. First of all, if you are still reading book 1 of tWoT at the very least, It's probably safe if you do not read on. It is totally unavoidable to spoil plot for this book, based on the point of the conversation. Thanks :) . Here we go folks, listen up. It's difficult to miss the fact that there's debates here there and everywhere on Dragon Mount. So what the hell, here's a debate for you all to scratch the skin off of your your chins for, maybe the first of a few! Padan Fain , why him and not Mat Cauthon? Everyone remembers Mordeth right? So what was it that made Mordeth possess Fain in the first place? It can't simply be the taint from the dagger because M…

I just read the discussion below... So, if the Heores of the Horn answers to the Horn and the one who blows it, but has to follow the Dragon and the Banner... does anyone (like Rand or Mat) realize it? Will they stop to get the banner before blowing the Horn? And, where exactly IS the Dragon Banner? I seem to remember it being called something else too ("Banner of the Light" ?), and flying over one of the cities...

I think that the only way besides a book that the series can be given its due credit would be a game. I know there was an older game made in the WOT universe, but not a very good one. The type of game i'd like to see would be like an RPG like Final Fantasy or a MMO, that would be a lot like Dark and Light, except actually being good. Huge world, big battles, immersive world, ect. It could follow the books too. If it was an MMO it could start back in the Aeil wars and continue through to the end.

There was something Herid Fel mentioned while speaking to Rand that, during both time reading through the book, made me concider that perhaps Rand would slay the DO. I don't remember the exact wods, alas I don't have the book either, should be Lord of Chaos chapter 18 though. I wish I found you guys while I still had the book. Can anyone help illuminate my theory, or at least shut it down so I can be at peace?

I have a vague recollection of a description somewhere about the strike on Shayul Ghul where the 100 companions flew to the site. Shoot me if I'm wrong. They had 20,000 soldiers with them, so we're talking about the mother of all airlifts or some of the poor buggers were left to walk... Anyway, my question. Is it possible to fly using the power? We know about Sho'Wings, and the "maximum length of a bridge" theory indicates major restrictions on lifting yourself with the power, but I think it would be cool if Rand discovers/rediscovers a flying weave. 'Travelling' is cool for logistics and getting around in a World War which is coming up, but imagine what a cha…

Just a bit of fun I thought of, for people who think they know the books backwards. When asking questions, think of an obscure name/place/fact that might only be mentioned once or twice in the books and see if anybody else knows it. Here are a few I have come up with, feel free to answer or put forward any questions. What was Mil Tesen's job? What nation is Lady Morsa from? Who was Barashelle's second Warder? What fraction of the loot does Rand get as the leader of the Aiel? How did Mendao die? Good luck.

I just finished rereading _The Shadow Rising_, and in the beginning of the chapter "Hidden Faces" Egeanin is meeting with her henchman (Gelb) who is supposed to be looking for runaway sul'dam and a'dam. She recounts Gelb's kidnapping of a former noble who resembled one of the runaway sul'dam--her name was the Lady Leilwin. Egeanin had her sent back to Seahchan instead of killing her. Six books later (_Crossroads of Twilight_), the name reappers in the chapter "A Cluster of Rosebuds." Tuon asks what she (Egeanin) calls herself, and Selucia answers "Leilwin...A fitting name for a shea dancer. Leilwin Shipless, perhaps?" Tuon confirms the name. My question: ca…

You know how you sometimes have those friends that arent quite as good of friends as others, yet you hang with them? Does anyone besides me think Perrin is one of those friends? Sure he has to be there for Rand 2x or all will go bad, but do you think that Perrin is a (lets call them) "Second Class or B Class" friend to Rand as opposed to Mat who is one of his first tier friends? My opinion is yes. Perrin grew up mostly in the main Town of Eomonds Field a little bit apart from Rand and Mat. I do believe Perrins sense of duty makes him reliable, but I find him on the outside of things in the story. Maybe its due to him devoting everything to Faile, but even in the beg…

  19. Interesting thing. I know there are those who say she can not, because she is "Burned out". Then there are those who say Nynaeve and Flynn could heal her. I was just listening to Winters Heart, the part right before Verin decides not to poison Cadsuane. So here is where I think being burned out is also healable, either that or the Aidam theory (those that have been burned out cant use them) is wrong. So Corele (SP Im listening so I dont have the correct spelling) comes to Cadsuane and tells her that she has the most wonderful news... She tells her that Flynn healed the three sisters who were stilled at Dumais' wells. Here is the key. Cadsuane thinks to he…

What ever happened with the contest? Did it run the whole twelve weeks or was it cancelled? I just recieved an e-mail that said I was randomly generated as one of ten 2nd place winners for week two. I thought it was odd, coming nearly a year after the contest took place.

Hey, this is my first post here. Sorry if this is a question that's been asked over and over; I've tried looking through various FAQs and haven't been able to find an answer. I recently acquired a hardcover version of New Spring, which I haven't read yet. I notice that its ISBN (0641724403) is different from that of the edition of New Spring described as revised. How big are the differences between the two editions? Is it worth returning the edition I have now and getting the revised edition?

I just started my second read of the series and right off the bat, I noticed at the end of the prologue, the two stories at the end from the fourth age. If those are from the fourth age, could they be talking about the aftermath of last battle in Rand's age?

Ok, you know whats always irritated me, is that Elaida made two overt acts of war against Rand in having him kidnapped and attacking the Black Tower... and he did nothing out of fear of Aes Sedai knowing more. Idiot child. All he needed to do was be open minded and ask the Aes Sedai about conditions inside the tower, and he would have known. Here's what he should have done. Firstly, on his side he had 600 or so Asha'man (at that time) and around 5500 Wise Ones who could channel... not all had massive strength or were trained, but they can be alleviated by linking--and yes, with the Aes Sedai he had sworn to him he had access to linking knowledge. Now, there were o…

    Started by Guest Fire Lord,

Hi there, just finished re-reading ACoS, and I must say, the second read is the best. Anyway, I was wondering, Moridin is known to use mostly the True Power. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the True Power is black in colour, but the balefire he channels in Shadar Logoth is a solid bar of fire, yet Rand doesn't feel it. Can men also mask saidin in themselves or is it something else?

What ever happened to the fade that Palian Fain had staked down in his tent. I think his name was george. At the end of book 5 I remember him riding off with the rest of the Fains crew with a look like some one killed his kitten. But I can remember if he ever shows up again.

Encyclopedia WoT apparently thinks that the Book of Translation and the game of Match are the same thing. Go figure. Anyway, not having my books to hand at the moment (and pretty sure there's no light that they can shed upon the matter) what IS the BoT? How can a book, when opened and (presumably) read take the Ogier off to another world? What world? How will they get back? When did they get here? Does anyone know anything about this? I'm blank right now. Why do I DO this at this time of night (day actually)?
