  1. sorry if this has already been discussed by others and if this is now an old subject amongst you all, but i've been reading about eragon by christopher paolini beingmade into a film and how everyone is going crazy about it. it annoys me too much. i dont know if you read them, i dont know whyi did, but eragon and his sequel eldest were both filled with ideas, theories and plots and from other books such as the dragon riders of pern, LOTR, he stole the concept of the true name from a sci fi i cant remember and more importantly the wheel of time.he is also being defended by his fans for the fact that he is a young author.. be that as it may, i think it belittles other author…

  2. Ok, now to get started I feel I have to let you know this is going to be a long post. If you are like me and do not like to read huge posts authored by unknown posters, I will have a summation below in which I will tick off my points. After you read them, if you are intrigued enough to delve deeper, I would be happy to have you read my little essay. 1.) Semirhage did not just throw fire. She wove a bit of blindness in there with it. 2.) Rand will go blind, and Rand will still be able to see. 3.) Rand will see through Matrix style "Neo-vision" and this will allow him to see the Bore. 4.) The title A Memory of Light refers to this Neo-vision and to the…

two things i would love to see in AMoL... 1). the isle of madmen. it's even more of an intriguing(sp) place with the taint removed. will rand really just leave all of those male channelers laying around down there? i think not. plus he has to bind all lands to him. that one and shara included. 2). Beidomon. one of the best theories i've ever came up with is that Beidomon is really shadar haran. think about it, lanfear bores a hole into the dark ones prison with the help of this guy. she becomes the most powerful of the female forsaken, and he...drops off the face of the earth?!? i think he absorbed the TP blast and was consumed by it in such a way as to beco…

When Darkhounds die, do they go to the Wolf Dream? If so, do they go as wolves again, or as Darkhounds? Will Tarmon Gaidon be fought in TAR as well as in the waking world? Other Darkhound thoughts? How do you see them fitting into the TG picture?

Who would win between Perrin and Egwene? Perrin has fought in TAR before but doesn't have the formal learning Eggy had. He had Hopper telling him what he could and couldn't or shouldn't do. And he has been taking trips to TAR since the beginning. Egwene has had the formal training and can channel. But her experences has been spying and avoiding possible trouble or with a Wise Wone. When she first encountered trouble she got her butt kicked.

Yeah, so before Knife of Dreams was released, RJ said that there would be a moment to make the audience gasp, and that it would pertain to the consequences of an event from an earlier book. What was it? Phoenix (previously known as Guardian Ian)

This may be a question to which the answer has already been told in one of the books! I wondered, if Elayne can use the Saidar, and Rand can use Saidin, will the children be able to touch both? Or does the ability have nothing to do with genetics? :?:

In Shadow Rising, the chapter Doorways Egwene asks Moiraine if she has ever been in love, her answer is "I could wager I know the face of the man I will marry better than either of you knows that of your future husband." Even in the last books I dont remember this being mentioned again- did I miss something???

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been discussed, but I was just reading part of the Karaethon Cycle where it said: "Red on black, the dragon's blood will stain the rocks of Shayol Ghul." I had always taken it that the red on black would be his blood on the black rocks, but what if it means red on black, like moridin's colors. Cyndane and Moghedien both are forced to wear servants clothes with those colors on it, and servants clothes usually have their masters colors on them. This would support the whole telepathic-connection-switching-bodies theory. Any thoughts?

has anyone else thought that some ter'angreal look very much like things from our age? Like that white disc Elayne and Avienda have and that feels like pictures - a satellite dish? Some of the call boxes or devices for summoning the forsaken could be mobiles or pager. any body else has come up with similarities? I have seen a page with a lits of all ter'angreals but can't remember where :-?

Hi every one, I've been lurking around for quite some time, though I had an account here before but I don't know what hapenned to it. Anyway,my question relates to something I'm sure I've seen around, but I didn't get a satisfying answer. In the Dragon Reborn, both Egwene and Perrin stumble on Rand in the Dream World ( Tel'-something. I suck in spelling the Old Tongue) I'm quite positive it was no ordinary dream, and Rand was there for quite some time, not like ordinary dreamers who just brush the Dream World. And, though it's possible, I don't think he was there in the flesh, and I think he also mentions that it was a dream. My question is, is Rand a dreamwalker? I'…

Okay, so I know the WoT books mention time and time again that if a Warder's Aes Sedai dies, not only does he feel it but he himself dies in a futile effort to avenge the Aes Sedai's death. Basically, he goes kamikaze and gets himself killed. So there's probably no possibility at all of what I'm suggesting ever actually coming up in the WoT books, or anywhere in Randland for that matter (if Randland can be said to have an existence separate to Mr Jordan's imagination...another topic, another debate, another time) but... In feudal Japan (so going back a few centuries now), they had the warrior caste, the Samurai, and when a Samurai lost his master, he became Ronin,…

In almost all of the books we get some fragmented parts of the prophecies of the Dragon But never several in one shot. So I would like to see what all of them would look like together. Also how many parts has RJ given us. For starters in KOD the Banner-General says to Perrin this small part "When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. When the fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown." In TGH We are given "And it shall come to pass that what men made shall be shattered, and the Shadow shall lie across the Pattern of the Age, and the Dark One shall once more lay his hand upon the world of man. Woman shall weep and men qu…

  18. The books are not so fresh any more in my mind, so I need some help in how the oath the Aes Sedai say about not using the power to harm anyone except if it is to defend themselves can be interpreted. Here is the situation (WoT RPG, a game I'm GMing): can an Aes Sedai whose group is attacked (but not her directly, as the group is split in two, a little way apart one from the other) by a damane and her suldam use the power (like a simple fireball) against them? If not, is Shielding considered a harmful way of using the power and thus fobidden by the three oaths? I hope I've been clear enough, thanks for your answers ;o)

HENCE 1st Age the time of non-power intelligence BUT bore gets cut/bored/watever 2nd Age the age Rand and his buddies are in now 3rd Age... a pinnacle of power 4th Age to 6th Age just more industrialisation 7th Age a self destruct thingy where they lose everything they worked to get there is my idea... rand and his friends are rediscovering lost talents... maybe they are becoming the AoL's again... also on the blurb of all the books it says "the constant struggle between light and dark" my op…

  20. I wouldn't call this a theory, but a question. I'm rereading TFoH again, and in the Chapter "Memories", while Padan Fain is retrieving his dagger from the White Tower, Alviarin pops in and says something interesting, which I couldn't help but scratch my head at. Now ever since we're introduced to Verine in TGH she's around Mat (or close enough to) up till the removal of the Dagger in TDR, yet besides the removal of the dagger from Mat, I don't believe she's ever in real contact to the dagger. So what did it do to Verine, and how? According to Alviarin it did do SOMETHING, SOMEHOW, and THAT could explain SOME of her odd behavior. From seeing it's effects on Pa…

I am re-reading The Shadow Rising, and when Mat goes in the Redstone Door Ter'Angreal the way the snake people (sorry forgot the official name) look above his head and sort of read his future reminds me of what Min does, except more general and... advanced. Like they can maybe see everything, or choose to see everything important, but what Min sees is arbitrary. Someone she got born with the Snake Skill. Sorry, this has probably been brought up before, but I had to see if anyone else noticed the simularity and thinks it might be a valid theory.

So what does everyone make of the Tuatha’an? What will their role be in the Last Battle? Are they going to become a liability? A group of people Rand will be forced to protect? Will they do their part and strap children to their backs in preparation to run should the shadow break the lines of the Light? Will they work with the armies, providing supplies and watering horses and tending wounds etc? Or, will their purpose be something more profound? Will the Aiel and the Tuatha’an once again become one? Will Perrin’s connection to Aram have a part to play yet in the destiny of the Tinkers? I for one am not sure. I am curious about the many accents included in these books. I’m sure I read an interview with RJ where he described what accents in our world match those in his books. If anyone has any information about that can you please post? Or if you have ever speculated on what an Illian, Murandian, Seanchan, Borderlander or Aeil accent may be like, I’d love to hear it.

After the Seanchan are dealt with in some manner, battle, truce, surrender, whatever (and they may be faking) Rand will send Logain back to the BT, Logain being nervous about Taim will bring every Asha'man he can get his hands on to back himself up, several of them will be bound to Aes'Sedie and others will have Aes'Sedie bound to them. Logain will arrive as Taim is giving a speech on the "addressing stone" (sorry don't remember what its name is or if it even has one, but it is a large, shiny black stone with stairs carved in the back). Taim will be impersenating Rand, but will have two hands. Logain will kill him by surprise and as he is moving up onto the stone …

  30. Anyone else a little weirded out by Lini? In tFoH she tells Morgease that if she were 51 years younger she might be able to wear a dress that shows as much as Morgease is showing at that time. That, plus the fact that she has been a Trakand nurse since Morgease's mother was a baby, and that makes her really old. Realisticly, how old could a person get in Randland, where medical science for the average person isn't very advanced? I dunno, I just can't help but feel that there's more to the woman. Anyone have any pet theories about her?
