Hey all, just a quickie:... Tarmon Gai'don is called the final battle, or the last battle or whatever-its late, im ill and i cant remember the correct term. Has anyone else noticed that it also means "Battle that guards" that ties in with the the whole idea of herid Fels' that this isn't the last batle at all...

Dunno if anybody noticed before but... Just re-reading tEotW, and I noticed something Elyas says to Perrin and Egwene at the end of the Wolfbrother chapter (23). He says: "but Burn thinks the pack is wasting time with you three". Three? Is it just a typo, or did RJ originally have another of the carachters with Egwene and Perrin?

I read a post in the aMoL forum where someone mentioned that Mat's ter'angreal would not be able to stop balefire... Personally, I think the medallion can simply unwind the flows for that as well, but what are your thoughts on it? Also, as evidence that an object of the power can affect balefire is that Callandor split the balefire flow that one of the male forsaken (i think Rahvin?) sent at Rand. But, that was an sa'angreal, so possibly it could do things that ter'angreal can't...

  6. well, so much for me hoping Faile ended up with Rolan, but now what? Can we actually believe that Berelain has given up on getting Perrin? He doesn't smell anything and so now he actually trusts her... too bad for him because that's gonna cause at least one big arguement with Faile. what will happen? will there be a cat-fight? will a member of Cha Faile try (unsuccessfully) to assassinate Berelain? No, that option's too dumb. But besides Bela riding in to save the day where will Perrin end up?

Continuing my bout of new revelations as I go through the books for the second time (just getting to the end of the Great Hunt). I was thinking about the taint on Saidin and it suddenly hit me that the taint may actually be the dark one’s True Power. Now there is no one specific thing that has made me think this so I’ll just ream off a couple of the more prevalent ones and those of you with a more extensive knowledge than my own can shoot them down or agree with them as you choose. 1. At the end of The Eye of the World when Rand is seeing the Saidin “power lines†running from himself and the forsaken running to either the eye itself or to the one power (I’m…

  8. I was just reading through some posts, one being about ishy and rand having battled again and again through a thousand thousand turnings of the wheel. What if randland was once as earth is, a linear time line vs. a circular time line. Then at some time at the height of civilization, possibly only technically advanced, no OP, through study into physics they opened a worm hole into some other dimension letting in chaos, forces never intended in this world. Possibly matter and anti-matter colliding. Now most modern physics say that the two together would cause annihilation as the very fabric of the universe was ripped to shreds. But instead of this, it causes a …

Has anyone else noticed that Ishamael differs from the other forsaken in the sense that he has been living longer? I havent seen any other forsaken claiming they have fought this battle a billion times... Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't help wondering about the implications this has about Ishamael's identity (is he perhaps the "great lord" to be born again?)

If an Aes Sedai decided to try to bond an Eyeless or an Ogier what would happen? Is it possible? would never occur? would nothing strange happen? if she bonded the Eyeless would she die, or go insane or be stilled? would the bond act oddly? And, would it be suicide because of the Hall, would they disapprove so greatly on either case (orgier or eyeless) that she would be stilled and possibly put to death? if it was possible, and someone crazed enough to do such, would being bond to either one drive the Sedai insane or cause certain problems? would the bond work properly? would the orgier or eyeless have control over the Sedai rather than the Sedai having control over it?

What happened to the troublemaker sea man on Domon's ship in tEotW, his name keeps dodging me but I remember he left the ship in Whitebridge? The reason I'm asking is a have some vague memory of this man being mentioned again in the story, possibly working for someone in Tanchico. I hope someone can clear this up for me.

I've just recently started reading the wheel of time and got my hands on three hard cover copies of the books which now that I look at them seem to be first edition. There are some MAJOR editing erros in these books? I've never really read first edition books before so is this a common thing in first editions or is it just that I've somehow come across really bad versions. I'm currently reading winter's heart and the errors are really getting to me. For example there was a paragraph where Suroth was referred to as Saroth and what I just read that made me want to find a forum and ask was a quote from page 562 mat saying "... Do you think you supply could those?" wh…

The Karaethon Cycle And it shall come to pass that what men made shall be shattered and the Shadow shall lie across the Pattern of the Age, and the Dark one shall once more lay his hand upon the world of man. Women shall weep and men quail as the nations of the earth are rent like rotting cloth. Neither shall anything stand nor abide... Yet one shall be born to face the Shadow, born once more as he was born before and shall be born again, time without end. The Dragon shall be Reborn, and there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth at his rebirth. In sackcloth and ashes shall he clothe the people, and he shall break the world again by his coming, tearing apart all t…

I am sorry if this has already been posted but i didn't have time to look for it. Anyways i have a theroy. KOD, Chapter 27, A Plain wooden box page 600, " Hunching his shoulders and pulling his cloak around, him he leaned on the pommel of his saddle and watched the night for Vanin. Women! He would give up all of his luck-well, half-if he could understand women." Maybe giving up half of his luck on winning battles means giving up half the light just to understand women.

If any of you could get in contact with me through this on email me on Randtheashaman@aol.com if you are interested in helping me out. (All information, names etc will be kept strictly confidential.) So here's a little something I was thinking about with the horn of valere. I know that the inscription reads 'the grave is no bar to my call' but does that mean that it only works through the grave or does it actually summon all heros? I was thinking this because at the time the first horn was blown, All heroes of the horn of Valere were all assembled at one Place. So I was wondering, do you think if the horn were sounded again that it would summon all the heroes of the horn both living and dead? or do you think that the living heroes by their nature would already be assembled when the horn is sounded?

To which RJ replied, "RAFO. Now fix me up so I can write the dang thing!"

1)OK one thing that has been bothering me for awhile is what the last battle will be like. Do you think that rand will right the DO or will he fight his chosen one moridin and the battle will be decided by that?? As for me(i hope this doesnt happen) i think he will fight moridin since the DO hasnt really made a big appearance in the series. 2)How come shadar haran doesnt come to any of the meeting of the forsaken. Does moridin know him? 3)I dont think rand will kill all of the forsaken. I think our favorite pschyo padan fain will take a few out. i think he will fall to rand at the end though?

So what is this Book of Translation thing? It can't be just something like the portal stones. there are ogiers in other mirror worlds as well, so it must lead to some kind of real parallel universe and not just a reflection. Also I find it interesting that Loial's mother seemed to be the first character we meet that actually realizes that ages return. All the others mention that ages return as a sort of mantra but don't so any sign that they realize that if the AOL was before than it would be again and that the last battle happened before and most likely will happen again.

Ok, well we all know Rand got his hand blown off in KOD. But what we do not know is what is going to happen with his stump. Personally I think he is going to get a wraith hand simmilar to the wraithed sword he used to summon. But that is just my thoughts.

In KoD, the Forsaken comment on someone moving large numbers of trollocs and Sammael seems to be assigned as the responsible party. If it was Moridin who used the TP balefire on Sammael at Shadar Logoth, he would most likely put the theory to rest but doesnt. Unless the TP user at SD is not Moridin but someone else as yet unintroduced by RJ. Its unlikely to be Shaidar Haran as Rand seems to see the face of a person and not a Fade who Rand would have easily recognized. Are there any discussions about this around?

There are two ways to figure out who Messana is. First RAFO, that is the method I expect to use. Second create a list of every AS. Then cross off the ones who can't be Messana, like those out of the tower. Then highlight those with the most matching charicteristics. This should end with a single name, or at worst a very short list of possibilities. PS Please forgive my spelling.

A few years ago I remember seeing this website after Bush won the US election. http://www.sorryeverybody.com/ Politics aside, I think it's a great idea to do something like this for RJ and Harriet. Here's what I am thinking: - We encourage every fan to take a photo of themselves holding a sign saying "Get Well Soon" or something like that - You can write it on a pice of paper, on your forehead, or any other creative way you want. (Keeping it clean of course) - All photos get submitted to a page on DM - RJ has a chance to cruise through them and see everyone's submitted photo. Thoughts? J
