Hmm i'm new here so please don't execute me if this is an old argument :? ... I just wondered about Min Vision about a Falcon and a hawk(?) sitting on Perrins shoulder... Just wondered who the hawk might be since the falcon is Faile?? I also read somewhere that many thought Galad and Berelain were a suitable match so she probaly not the one either.... hope you know who it might be....

I play chess often and I've always wondered if there are any WOT themed chess boards out there. I didn't find any so I decided to think up one and, when/if I ever end up with extra cash, get it made. Tell me what you think: White: King = Rand, Queen = Nyneave, Pawns = Aiel(maidens?), Bishops = Moiraine & Lan, Knights = Wolves, Rooks = Mat & Perrin. Black: King = Ishamel, Queen = Lanfear, Pawns = Trollucs, Bishops = Myrrdraal, Knights = Drahkar, Rooks = 2 forsaken (Rahvin & Sammael??). So there it is, I think that would be a nice custom board to make, if it was done nicely. Thoughts??

  3. Egwene goes one about how she wants all women who can channel tied to the white tower - some how work together peacefully and respect each other. We know her plan for the Kin but what about the others? Will they work together "under" Egwene - or as equals with an own leader? And what will be their contribution to the community of female channelers? We have: Aes Sedai - who think they know it all and need to teach the others, but might be up for some surprises. The Kin: know a lot about healing and will come "under" the tower as a pension scheme The windfinder: know more then they lt on, get the tower into the bargain of teaching (even things they already know…

The other day i sort of sat down and thought about how i would write Memory of Light given the current status of the series and RJ's insistence that there will be only one more book. Because i was extremely bored at the time, i hashed out a plotline that i would use to achieve all of RJ's goals. To achieve this the story needs to be devided into three parts. Part One - Pre Tarmon Gai'don Lan - First and foremost in the book, i think RJ will have to begin the Trolloc assault on the Light. He needs to up the game for the last book, so im guessing that this will take place in the Prologue. Lan will not be able to defeat the mighty hoard, but he will slow it dramatica…

Does anyone know why the Winespring Inn was not destroyed during Winternight? There's about two pages RJ stresses upon that but only by letting Rand and Egwene's father wondering why. If I had to destroy all places where guys of about 20 years old live, the inn would be first in my list.

Is there anyone else that believes the women in the Wheel of Time series have progresively become more and more arrogant and condescending to the men? I particularly have become angered with Elayne, Nynaeve and Egwene. (I HATE Aes Sedai). They seem to believe men are very much an inferior sex. I wonder if Jordan intended it to be this way? A sort of gender reversal compared to our world? In WoT the women all seem to think that men cannot think, that they always gossip, that all they think of is war and it is better for women to rule so that there can be peace. The Aes Sedai are particularly disgusting with the way they treat their Warders. I am eterna…

  11. Come all, and answer the big question. Which book is it you're on? I myself am nearing the end of book 5 and I must say, it's dam good reading. And just like the others, it just gets gradually more nail biting as you get through it. Love it! I realise that there's some serious big time RJ readers out there that have been reading his novels for many years past. I spoke with a guy earlier today whose nearly read the whole series twice over... WOW! that's some mega time reading, thanks Wardragoran. I'm pretty new to DM and found a lot of the contents I've stumbled across to have spoilt a few of the plots to come in future reading. I can sympothise with you fo…

  12. At the very end of TG I envision Rand breaking the seals and the DO erupts out of the Bore to cast a darkness over everything. Then Rand does his thing and seals the DO back in or kills him thus removing the darkness and the daylight comes back. Plus I feel that this is the last turning of the wheel for the DO. Rand kills him dead. The DO has said that even he cannot step outside of time or something or other. So Rand takes the Choeden Kal and balefires DO or something else equally nasty until his wound breaks spilling blood over the rocks Shayul Ghul. I mean why write the story unless its the true Last Battle. I been thinking about Egwene's dream of trying t…

hi i just joined and thought i'd throw this post out there because it's been irking at me for a bit Twice dawns the day when his blood is shed. Once for mourning, once for birth. we all know rand has to die at the last battle at shayol ghul. I'm thinking that the twice dawning day means that after he dies and the prophecy is fulfilled and the darkone is reimprisoned that the day will start over and he will be "born again" and return to life and happily ever after and such. plus that theory also follows the theory that this book slightly follows a stigmatic view of rand. unhealing wound in his side. wounds on his hands. the crown of swords(thorns) jesus died a…

  14. What do you think will any of the other guys ever try if they could learn to channel? They are not born with the spark but Mat and Galad at least have a big chance of being able to learn. Channelling seems to run in families - Mat's sister has the spark, a lot of other boys from the two rivers are at the black tower...Galad's half sister (Elyane) his aunt? (Moraine) his half brother (Rand)- he is really good with the void, too! Thom would be another possible...

hi this is a quick pole because people dont often mention Faile unless Perrins involved and then its not particularly nice. Personally I don't like her because of the way she treats Perrin I mean its so unfair on him.

  16. Is there anyone besides me that has bemoaned the fact that Loial the Ogier is not in these later books? If the Ogier cannot be in them...then I say Rj should come up with some other goodguy creature (Other than human) that could befriend our characters and join in the adventures. I mean the badguys have Trollocs, Myrdraal (sp?), Grey Men, The Chosen, the Forsaken etc. (Then of course there are the Eelfinn which do not seem to be either good or bad really.)

  17. In one way or another Rand is linked to a great many people. Whether it be as intimate as Alanna or as intermittent as Mat and Perrin, he has a lot going on in his head in addition to being who he is. Maybe all these links help him deal in some way. Did I forget anyone?

If the WoT was made into a movie it would most likely become another movie legend.(such as LotR) Personally I would greatly dislike it since many times the movies are a great disappointment. The actors are (of course) never how you pictured them and they tend to cut so many important events that they end up having to change the entire story. I understand that since every one has a diferent imagination the whole actor thing is impossible and that they have to cut things in order to make the movies shorter.( I know only one person who could sit through a movie longer than four hours)It all can still be a little dissappointing.Although I loved the LotR What do yo…

hey this is my first post so i dont know if you guys have discussed this and im only half way through book ten but i dnt mind spoilers if it comes to that. Has anyone thought that the guy who rescued rand was his half brother? Yes thats rite his half brother... because when he asked permision to enter rhuidean (sp?) they said his mum had a kid before she joined the Aiel. And if rand thinks he knows the man but doesnt at the same time doesnt know him it could be the brotherly bond. also if rand can channel its possible his halfbrother can too. and another quick question is what happened with the connecting the balefire? be honest with what you think[/b]

  20. Ok, what's up with that? You know the part where Perrin witnesses the clerk throw up beetles and get eaten from the inside? They brush it off as no big deal (sort of). Perrin crushes them underfoot, apparently unconcerned. Nobody wonders how they got in his body? I'd be afraid of crushing them and causing eggsacs to go airborne. I'd be afraid it was contagious, but Perrin is very stupid about it, IMO. I know it's probably just a plot element that won't be revisited, but that's a pretty crazy event. What do you guys think? J

Just about every post I read on Moiraine's rescue has Thom with music Mat with fire and Noal with iron. Why is this. Nothing indicates that the music has to be good, so Mat can do that too as can Noal. Any idiot can use a match and carry a torch, so all three can have fire. They have all been mentioned as being good with knives and knives can be made from iron. Personally I think that they will all use fire and iron, though Thom may be the only one to use music. Sorry about the rant, especially if it is not entirely cohearant, I am exausted.

I was rereading Path of Daggers, when I noticed that in Chapter 4 Vandene or Aldelas (forget which) commented to Elayne that the last sister to study Terangreal (forget her name) was burnt out. Could this possibly be Setalle's Aes Sedai? It happened 25 years ago, long enough for her to have become 20 again, then grow to the 45 year old Ebou Dari Innkeeper we all know (and love :P )

Here's a question I've been meaning to ask, which may have been answered already. I think it's in book Two (The Great Hunt) wherein Siuan mentions seeing Rand in the crowd in the Borderlands. She then says that it is one of her talents to see Taveren. How'd she find out about this talent of hers? Was there other taverens aside from Rand, Mat and Perrin in the near past? I seriously doubt she's lived through Arhur Hawkwing's time, did she? After all, she is supposed to be one of the youngest raised Amyrlins.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ NEW SPRING I have a bit of a question concerning the testing for the shawl. After reading New Spring, is it just me or can the Aes Sedai controlling the ter'angreal downstairs kill off anyone who fails one of the weaves? Is that what they do? We know from reading that the Aes Sedai can see what's going on inside the ter'angreal and influence it. So, if an Accepted makes a mistake, do they just kill her off?
