I'm probably not the first person to wonder about that, and perhaps it has been answered somewhere, but I couldn't dig it out. So if it has been discussed before, could anyone brief me on what the board thinks about what would happen if a Gateway is opened on top of Cuendillar. The edges of a Gateway slice through anything and it makes sense, otherwise the Gateway would either be displaced or the something in the way would stick through the Gateway. I remember it was discussed in the books that if two Gateways were opened on the same spot at the exact same time, they would displace only enough to allow each to open equally close, without any space in between. Would the sa…

I have a few of the WOT hardcovers signed by Robert Jordan in person for sale. I tried to find a place to post this and ended up here. I didn't see anything in the rules prohibiting this, but hopefully this is o.k. I can upload photos and which books later if anyone is interested. Paypal would be easy and I can ship them out to any interested buyer.

I'm new to The Wheel of Time series. Fell in love with epic fantasy since reading A Song of Ice and Fire. My biggest complaint is the main male characters constant whining about their fate and how didn't want it or ask for it. I'm only on book 2 The Great Hunt. It's off putting. I'm use to way more horrible things happening to characters in ASOIAF with no woe-that is me mentality. Will Rand, Mat and Perrin continue their self-pity whining for the rest books? If I look back, I'm lost...

I am getting a WoT/Egwene tattoo to commemorate WoT and celebrate my daughter, Egwene. I am compiling all the symbols that could represent Egwene and want to make sure I'm not over looking anything. The symbols I have thought of are: The White Tower (the likely focus of the tattoo) Accepted Ring Amyrlin's Stole (unlikely to make an appearance) Bela The Dreamer's Ter 'Angreal A'dom The Flame of Tar Valon Interested what you guys might come up with. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm interested in finding out what the dimensions of the White Tower are. I've am only in book two and there hasn't been any in depth discussions about the place just that it was built by Ogier. I'm interested in finding out because I'd like to make it a project in Minecraft to build the White Tower. I know it probably sounds silly but I think it would be awesome to do such and thing for that and several other infrastructures! I've sifted through a lot of information on the internet but to no avail... If you guys know that would be awesome!! Thanks!

These will be hitting the shelves in september, and they are so sexy! My books are currently a mixture of the older UK paperback, the US paperbacks, and TOM and AMOL in hardcover. I will so be replacing every single one with this new set! http://www.orbitbooks.net/2014/05/28/new-look-wheel-time/

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I have a terrible problem right now with my copies of The Great Hunt (hardcover). I bought the books 1-3 in paperback, and I liked the series so much I decided Im going to get them all in hardcover and start a good fantasy book collection. For about 2 months now Ive been buying books off amazon. To save a few dollars, Ive been buying them used. So far, I have books 1-5 in hardcover. My problem is, my books for The Great Hunt, is about 3/4 the size of the rest of the books. The first order I placed for The Great Hunt came, and even though the description said 'Very Good', it was a nasty used library copy with marki…

With the Companion coming out next year what things are you hoping will be in the book. For me I hope there is information on: Did Taim go to Rand as a DF already or after he joined Rand. A map of the Aiel waste show where each clan is located. Gren's encounter with Asmo (yes it was fast), but a POV from her perspective. Alanna suddenly leaving Tear. Was she kidnapped or went up willingly and then got captured? What happened to Jain, we know he was tricked and used by Ishy. But what happened and what did he do to Malkieri. I know a lot of this won't get answered like Gren's killing Asmo POV, but this is my wish list.

I recently read a short story by Robert Heinlein called All you zombies. A couple of pages into the story was a reference to an insignia of a snake biting its own tail. I was just wondering if RJ was influenced somehow by this story or if it had a more significant meaning.

Next Friday the spoiler board will be combined with the general discussion and AMOL will no longer be considered spoiler material.

  13. Check it out, my band Lyra's first demo. I know a lot of people on these boards (myself included) are always looking for epic new WoT music. Lyrics are on the SoundCloud page - I hope you guys enjoy it! https://soundcloud.com/lyra/the-sword-that-could-not-be-broken

  14. Started by Elaol,

So, I am big fan of WoT (I haven't read it on English, so sorry if I misspell something), and I've read last book last night. But I remained confused with the ending. So I would like if someone would explain it to me: 1. So, Rand came out from the Bore carrying Moridin with him. They were both dying and couldn't be healed. How the hell did they change bodies so Moridin died and Rand stayed alive? They didn't use the Mirror of the Mist. How then? 2. Rand can't channel anymore, neither saidin nor true power. Wouldn't he die then? Every channeler died if he/she was cut off True Source. 3. If he was unable to channel, how did he lit that pipe? He just imagined it …

So am I reading to much into it or not catching the irony, but it seems the main female characters seem to hate the traits in the male characters, and constantly berating them, yet turn around and do those traits. All the secrets and half truths and manipulations. I am sure half the deaths and arguments could have been avoided if people would just trust old friends. My thoughts, just had to put it out in the universe.

Before anyone answers this, please keep in mind that I have read every book except the last one. So please don't spill the beans on any details from AMOL. I am very currious about this question because I have searched the web for a long time this morning and I cannot find the answer. Does anyone know what color an Altaran Marriage Knife Sheath is when the Husband is still alive and they are happily married? Mahalo for your time, Ian

  17. Hi, Long time reader, but I don't post frequently and I apologize if this topic has already been covered. I tried searching but didn't find anything directly answering the question. If this post is duplicative of something I missed, please feel free to admonish me, provide a link, and close this thread. In ToM, Rand mentioned that he was the only "properly raised" Aes Sedai alive that hadn't turned to the Shadow. Did RJ/Team Jordan/the BWB ever explain what it meant to be properly raised in the Age of Legends versus how it is done now? If not, does anyone happen to know if this might be one of the things included in the recently announced Companion? Thanks in …

So are there counts or records that show all male channelers go mad. Besides anything from the white tower. I don't trust anything they might come up with, there whole society is skewed away from anything male and anything they can't control. But I can't see how so many males are at the black tower or for that matter running around before the black tower. Or did I miss something. Again I am only 7 books in but.....

  20. Started by H1ammer24,

Ok so I am only 5 books in the series and I know there is a long way to go till I am finished. However, I have read in forums as well as synopsis's that the seanchan become allies with rand and the "good guys", if you will, and I just can't see it with them still having collars and leashes. I am not one to worry over spoilers and having the books ruined for me, I need to know if they do become allies, are the forced to give up the leash and collars? If not, how can Rand accept them?

Hey everyone! New to the forums because I figure this was the best place to ask this sort of thing. I didn't know where spoilers might be, so I posted without really doing a search to see if this topic existed. If it's been asked, I apologize. I've read up through book twelve, the first one Sanderson co-wrote, but it's been a while since I've re-visited the series. I read The Gathering Storm about a year after its release so it's been a good 3 years since I've been back to the series. While there are certain things that are clear in my mind, I'm sure I'm missing certain details that are important. So, would finding just the summaries of the books be good enou…

how do you think both groups will deal with this after the taint and the story is over. Would male channelers from both groups just join the black tower? Or would both the aiel and Sea foke come up with there own way of training young male channelers. If so how do you think it would work?

  25. If you are in the UK, you may be interested to know there will be a Wheel of Time presence at LonCon 3, this year's Worldcon (World Science Fiction Convention), the biggest event on the literary SFF calendar. Not only is the whole series up for a Hugo Award, but there will be - provisionally - a Wheel of Time panel featuring Harriet, Maria and, er, myself. This will be on the Saturday (16 August 2014) at 12.00-13.30. If you're attending the con, I hope you can swing by :)

Ever notice some glaringly obvious thefts of RJ's work? I was watching season two of once upon a time and between the wolf stuff with red and the dreamworlds of passing messages between two dreamers it was pretty obvious. One thing is coincidence but four things in two episodes that specific? A raven used for doing evil woman's bidding? Come on!

Any speculation on it? When Callindor is first mentioned it is said "there are only two stronger a MAN can use" which would rule out female Chodan Cal.

Hiya, folks! So, I decided in a moment of insanity that I am going to re-read the Wheel of Time in its entirety, stopping after every chapter to break it down from the viewpoint of someone who just did the math and realized that he has been reading this series for about 12 years. Turns out, I was 11 when I was given my first copy of Eye of the World. Holy hell.... So i just finished MOL re read and i was thinking that If Rand can just think his pipe to be lit, why does he need gold, or a horse? He can just think himself somewhere or just reach into his pocket pick out gold if he needed it. Also, what is stopping him from just making himself look like he used to instead of walking around looking like Mordin? Just a though....
