Okay the game is called DC UNIVERSE ONLINE and its a free downlowd and play game. I admit this game is for DC Comics but the character creation is great. Villain or Hero factions, PVP or PVE...player vs player or player vs enviroment...if you want to fight each other I suggest PVP but u can switch between the 2 so it dont matter much. You can create the White Tower, Band of the Red Hand, Black Tower, The Chosen/Forsaken,etc leagues and be in groups of 8 in an open world you can interact with literally hundreds to thousands of other players. I plan to make an Samma N'Sei League....( thats a spoiler name which I wont describe unless asked...but its Aiel). I know its not…

I can't find the line right now, if someone could post it that'd be helpful. There was mention of rods in the prologue, I'm pretty sure it's referring to the different Oath Rods. They have numbers on each one so I'm feeling that is what was being referred to.

This has probably been touched on before, but I didnt see anything too flagrant so hopefully nobody minds rehashing this for me. When RJ developed the Old Tongue, did he actually sit down and create a semi functional language or did he "wing it" so to speak? Does anyone have any info on this that they can share?

  4. Forgive me if we already know what the red-veiled aiel are, but here's my theory. We were told a long time ago then aiel men who learned they could channel would travel alone to the blight to die, fighting as many shadowspawn as possible. What if instead they were captured and 13 x 13'd like the people at the black tower and Demandred has been training them? This would explain both who they are and what Demandred's been doing in preparation for war. What do you think?

did anyone mention at any time - that any other male Channeller hears voices in their head like old Rand did? I recall Logain showing some emotion when told Rand could hear LTT, so I'm thinking big L can hear someone, we just don't know who it is right now...

I don't know whether this has been discussed or not, but it still intrigues me. Throughout the series - ever since Moridin has made an appearance - we have been assuming Ishamael to be the resurrected one. However, if you see the characteristics of the two Forsaken, some very startling discrepancies come out: 1. Ishamael was determined to either turn Rand or kill him. Moridin, on the other hand, only wants Rand to survive (for now). 2. Ishamael was never a patient man. He only liked to see things working, with he in the centre. Moridin, on the other hand, is merely giving commands, and sitting away as a judge and an executioner. 3. Ishamael failed not once, but …

Perhaps a silly question, but how can he use gateways with his fox head medallion? In LoC there's a passage where Elayne, Nynaeve and Aviendha discover that Mat has a terangreal protecting him. They try to channel, but when the weaves come into contact with Matt they unravel. Shouldn't this happen with gateways as well?

I've been listening to A Crown of Swords (Again) and I'm at the point were Min told Rand about a viewing she had resently were she saw 2 man who's faces were blurred but she knew one was Rand They touched merged into one and one of the lives and one of them Dies. Rand, assumes that the viewing has to do with him and Lews Therien (Sorry if I misspelled that). What if the viewing has to do with him and Muradin, Merging and becoming one at SG during TG. I've always thought that in order for Rand to live through the Last Battle he has to walk out as somebody Else. Anyway I thought I would post this and see what the Rest of you thought or if you have news that RJ already an…

While I liked the Prologue, and in general think Brandon is doing a good job under tough circumstances, there is one thing that keeps bothering me. Robert Jordan developed his characters by showing us their actions. In the case of Talmanes, we saw through Mat's eyes that when he finds something funny he laughs inside, maybe wears a small smile, but keeps an outwardly neutral expression. Thats good writing. But Brandon has an annoying habit of writing characters that list their own traits in their PoV. It just seems forced. In the Prologue Talmanes basically explains what we already knew about him: his subtle sense of humor. People don't talk about themselves that way insi…

I would love to see a series following Mat and Tuon to Seanchan to take the throne back for Tuon. Has there been any talk of this?

  11. Started by Terez,

I'm trying to compile a list of what Sammael might have been referring to when he said this: My list so far of 'events in the south': 1. Rand's army. (Clearly not Demandred.) 2. Invasion of Tarabon by Seanchan. (Doubtful Sammael believed Demandred was behind that.) 3. Masema. 4. Carridin's "Dragonsworn". (Niall's orders.) 5. Murandy. (We don't know of anything going on there at the time, but we have evidence that Sammael was planning to invade Murandy in TDR.) Any other ideas? Somehow I doubt it has anything to do with the Sea Folk, and nothing else comes to mind, except the rebellion in Haddon Mirk, which was not very eventful at the time. Just a bunch …

  12. Given that there are still a good 3.5 months left till release day, think TOR/BS/Harriet will release any additional content, be it paid for or free? I suspect the answer will be no, but I really wish it'd be a yes....

  13. In both ages we've seen anything much of it was the DO which served as the agent of change that brought about the end of one age, and ushered in the next. As far as we know, in at least those two ages, if not in all of them, it is always the DO causing trouble and ushering one age into the next. Seems like without his intervention things would pretty much keep going in one upward direction. For all the talk about the DO wanting to break the Wheel it seems like he is the one keeping things moving in the prescribed circle. If he one day decided to quit the game before a Bore is drilled in some future version of the 2nd Age, then would something else happen to e…

The reason I ask this is that it's been established that darkspawn can't go through gates and have to use the Ways. However the Gholam is able to enter the skimming gate before it falls to it's death? Is this an oversite or can the forsaken use skimming to transport trollocs and myddraal (albeit only a few of them at a time) as an advanced scouting force? Alternatively are the gholam a different type of darkspawn which can use gates?

Could there be intelligent trollocs? The trollocs we have seen are little more than animals, living off of instinct and only caring about eating, unless driven by fear to follow a more powerful creature. However, we also know that human intelligence is dorment within their genetic code. Fades, which are throwbacks to the human ancestors of trollocs are just as intelligent as any human. Could it be possible that a trolloc could be born with a full human mind?

As a huge supporter of Team Jordan, and a firm believer in intellectual property rights, I thought I'd ask my fellow DMers if the WoT AMoL prologue offer I've on FB is actually illegal, or if it's much ado about nothing. A poster on FB has claimed that they will email out copies of the AMoL prologue to people outside the US and Canada who send their email address. Since, on the surface, this would appear to be stealing, I thought I'd ask around. Now, I can appreciate wanting to share the love of WoT, but I try to do so legally. I play by the rules on this stuff. I don't steal music, I don't steal stuff from stores, and I don't steal books, electronic or other…

  17. This forum is centered around what we think is going to happen in AMOL. Most threads focus on a specific character, event, prophecy, etc. Yet, we don't have a single topic where we can put all of our thoughts down to edit and refer back to easily. I propose using this thread as a place where each person, in a single post, lists their current thoughts/predictions on the events in AMOL. I believe such a thread would be useful for everyone for several reasons: 1. Having all of our predictions in one place may help us see connections between events we would otherwise miss. 2. Make it easier to see what your favorite forum members' thoughts are about AMOL. 3. P…

So in that "olver is not gaidal" thread...there is a quote from RJ that Olver has a purpose, he is not a red herring... Has that purpose been revealed yet? Because I haven't seen any of it, or maybe i'm too dense to understand.

This is my first post on here, and I know I have seen people post similar things, but I can't seem to find a thread specifically about this, rather than it being mentioned in passing in threads of criticisms of the series. I am rereading book 6 right now, and I just read Matt saying how rand opens a gateway into his room and talks to him in the middle of the night, and then leaves. I love these books, they are by far my favorite books series ever, but this is driving me nuts. It seems so unrealistic. Why won't the good guys talk to each other. Why is it all secrets and intrigue? Why are they so selfish? I tell people my plans in detail and get help from others, and th…

So with a lot of us on here going over the books that Sanderson has written, pointing out what we think is wrong with the way they are written and his character development along the way of the last three books and the overwhelming differences between him and RJ, Do you all think that this will effect the way Sanderson goes about writing his books from now on. Or that he doesnt really care what we think as readers and critics, and he is just going to go on the way he has always and do his own thing? I myself think that all of our imput over these last few years should make him a better author in the longrun, he he takes what we say into account, that is. Still not …

  22. Started by haloun,

ok so on my listen through of the series, I thought of something, and i have been searching for somewhere on the forum that discusses this, I have not found any yet, but would like to start one. How is it that Callandor could discern Rand as the Dragon? is there something supremely significant to his thread that AoL AS could have picked his thread out even after his death to seal away Callandor? Or is it a much momre simple process than that, albeit slightly more dangerous. My theory is that the Eye of the World was linked to the warding around Callandor. Rand drew the last of the power that was in the Eye, and than when he is near Callandor it pulses oddly. it doe…

What happened to the sword that Aviendha gave Rand? There is no mention of it after his first meeting with the Seanchan that I can recall. It's strange that he would stop using it after it meant so much to him - in Far Madding he didn't want to cut the peace bonds because it would mean leaving it behind.

The Three Become One in the prophecy. Could this be Rand, Perrin and Mat - the psychadelic swirly thing the see when they think about each other becoming semi-permanent - while TG is going on?

  25. Started by Xeratul,

Ok, this has really been percolating in my head for a while, but here it is: I've found the split between people who approve of Brandon Sanderson's work in this series to be very severely delineated. So many people are very happy with what he has done, while others are furious. Personally, I'm in the latter camp. Don't get me wrong, I never expected much from BS, and what he has accomplished is beyond what I'd hoped. What really irritates me is the overwhelming validation he received initially. (And continues to receive in slightly diminished form.) I feel that some of my own friends have betrayed me in preferring BS to the master himself. I believe that those who…

  26. Started by Darksmoon,

I have read a lot of posts about Mazrim Taim being a darkfriend and having been turned to the dark by 13 x 13 method. What if he was a darkfriend from the start? He has been channeling for 8 years without going crazy. From what we know that is a ver y long time as Rand begins showing signs in less than 2 years as do several of the Ashaman. Perhaps Taim made a deal with the DO so that taint wouldn't touch him. The DO told him to be a false Dragon to help break the land apart and then saved him after he was captured as he could still be important.

Caemlyn/Talmanes: Why did Elayne leave only one set of Kinswomen? More importantly, since weak Aes Sedai can make tiny Gayeways they can, say, put their arms through, why didn't Jesamyn and the other Kiswoman link and make a tiny gateway to warn Elayne? Seems a serious oversight on their part. The battle here was more cinematic and less personal, I feel, but on the whole not too bad. I just hope the more major battles have more details on the actual tactics that Jordan used to give us. To be fair, this wasn't a tactic heavy battle. And what's up with Talmanes surviving so long with a Myrdraal wound? I'm sure Nynaeve or someone can Heal him if they find him, but hi…

Hi Every one, thanks for the Cadsuane help..I still think she is a horrible person who needs to be slapped twice for everytime shes slapped Rand but thats another topic ill start when i finish the series..For now just some thoughts on why Aviendha has so little too do with the story now, Shes one of my favorite characters and all she does now is grab her belt knife and nod, grin or frown at Elayne. I love all the characters but I need more Aviendha! I am he who rules the world ps. this site is hawesome!

I have been rereading the Eye of the world and something struck me several time , either when Moraine explain Shadar logoth , or when Aginor speak about the evil of the dagger Well I am not sure if he refer to Mat or the dagger , but I don't think it is Mat forsaken knew nothing of the importance and the nature of Mat and Perrin at the time beside Ishamael . More to the point , I can't find anything from the background of Mordeth all that we know of him are the effect he had on aridhol , but who or what was it before . Aginor may refer to the simple nature of the evil of shadar logoth but forsaken had little knowledge if none to speak of when they were free . In fact…

Just a theory and I doubt it's the right one, but what do you think? So, the Aelfin said Rand has to die to survive the last battle. So, Rand dies before the last battles somehow. The last battle comes, Mat sounds the horn, Rand comes back as a hero (I know he's not a hero of legend really...) and then he gets pulled out just like Brigette did. Too farfetched?
