I have always wondered why Gitara Moroso sent Luc into the Blight. She said the outcome of TG depended on him going there. Seeing as she had the Foretelling, wouldn't she had known it would at least have a negative outcome? I mean, I don't think Luc was a darkfriend, not sure about Isam, I'm not sure how he was raised when he was taken as an infant, but I am thinking Breyan was a darkfriend and raised her son as one. So why would Gitara send Luc into the blight if she were not Black Ajah? Well, I have a small theory though nothing to really base it on. We know Luc somewhat helped the TR when Perrin came and all that, but Perrin didn't trust him. But was he actua…

I assume most of the non-balefired dead forsaken will be brought back to life for the last battle but what about Mesaana and Asmodean? Will Asmodean be brought back to life for the last battle? If he is will he turn back to the light? I personally think we won't see him and if we do he will not turn back to the light. Will Mesaana be tried and put to death? She is brain dead but she is still a forsaken. Shouldn't she be tried and put to death? If she is not will someone heal her? One way or another I don't think we have seen the last of her.

Ok Rand is the flaw. In the book when Mat and Rand escape from the people trying to kill them and Rand uses the One Power for the first time. He then gets sick because that is the norm with people who first use the one power. Problem with all this is that he already used the one power before when they were raising out of the two rivers. He wished that Bela would be able to keep up with the rest of the horses. Now there might be an out here but I don't think it happened this way. When he wished for it he said he felt a chill through his body. Which might mean that he felt a woman channel. Which means either Moiraine or Egwene. Now since Moiraine was surpri…

Many of my favorite scenes throughout the books develop characters. These are not great reads because of explosions, swordplay, or even high drama. It's just stuff. Understand? Just people talking or doing what they do or maybe discovering a little something about themselves. So if any of you think, "Cool! My favorite scene is Dumai's Wells!" Don't. Just don't. Because this discussion doesn't give a crap about battles. "My favorite scene is Perrin forging Mah'alleinir. That rocked!" Climax, so again, don't. On the other hand, "I just love it when Elayne pinches Rand's butt," would be just great, if that scene is a favorite of yours. Here are a fe…

I have always thought that there was something significant regarding Graendal for several reasons. The first is that she is one of the forsaken with the most POVs and has survived what very well could have been a plausible death only to subsequently fail in killing Perrin. The second is that, according to the Big White Book, her declaration of having joined the Shadow is what signalled the start of the War of the Shadow. Finally, Graendal is the second forsaken to swear allegiance to the Dark One after Ishamael. This all seems far too coincidental to me and I believe that Graendal may yet have a major role to play in a Memory of Light. More specifically, that she is goin…

The question is clear: What has happened with Talene Minly? Does she still have any future in this story for good or for evil? Or do we have to assume that the Shadow takes care of traitors and she's already dead or soon will be, The deeper question is whether she succeeded where Verin didn't: elude the oaths to the Dark One (she betrayed three Black Ajah sisters) and live. My guess: I think she still has a role to play, but I'm not sure whether it's for good or evil.

Hope this topic is new. Where are they, you don't really think Rand is going to leave 200k+ trained soldiers just sitting in far Madding do you? they would make quite a tidy bit of re-enforcement for Lans borderlands group at Tarwins Gap. If not back to the borderlands then where would He send them?

they are named after two deadly daggers used in a blood sport durign the Descent. A game in which both players died eventually They both attached themselves to Rand (for sure death is waiting for him) and egwene (unknown thus far whether she will die). I think this is some of the most subtle foreshadowing in the books, Egwene is going to die. sorry I don't have more to embellish onto it but I just thuoght of this and thought I should toss it up before I forgot it

In the end of AMoL, Olver opens the letter from Verin and Talmanes finds out that Caemlyn is under attack. Then Olver picks up a knife and goes out to fight against the Trollocs, even though he saw his parents die to Shaido in Cairhein. I think that this is important and that Olver will play an important role in Caemlyn's defense (either good or bad, most likely good). I don't have too many theories on how this will happen, so knock yourselves out. Also, since Elayne was also told of this by the Black Ajah, will she also have prepared something. Anyways, discuss.

Right now I am reading the series for the first time, and I am about half way through book 12. I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the book, it feels like the same story and the same level of quality.. however, every now and then, the dialogue gets sort of.. sloppy, it seems to lack insight into the characters and loses continuity. I kind of skim over those parts, in case there is any important plot developments, but it ruins it for me.. just momentarily, then resumes continuity again. For example, Chapter 20 is like that. Does anyone else have the same perception, or is it just me? :)

After reading discussion after discussion, Ive noticed a very philisophical mindset. You guys put a lot of thought into every post (most of the time). Lets discuss the upcoming battle that will pit the Band of the Red Hand vs. The Shadow. Mat has some difficult times ahead. We know that Caemlyn is under attack, but not how. Did the shadow use the WAYS to move there? I think there is a portal stone somewhere on the Black Tower grounds. I have no evidence on this, but the Black Tower has to play a part in this. Any thoughts? This gives the shadow a command center that already has established defenses and a base of channelers. From this base, the assault on Caemlyn …

I know I didn't get all the big light characters and probably not all the dark. But I am interested in seeing who people think will die and who will live. The last battle is obviously coming and it would be follish to think everyone will survive, I don't think RJ/BS would allow that. Please feel free to leave your thoughts also.

Hooray! Finally got through my re-read and into Gathering Storm/Towers of Midnight Smashed through the two in a week and change. Absolutely loved them. Quite enjoyed Dandersons writing style (Never read him before) But I can finally use all the forums without fear of spoiling things for myself!

So, it's pretty clear now that the whole dying and getting resurrected thing will happen in some form in AMoL. But when you think about it, there really are a whole of a lot of worthy contenders in the let's-kill-Rand competition, not to mention the fact that one of them is his own body. I think I'm gonna have to give the edge to Demandred (it would just be so awesome to have him finally beat Lews Therin, only for Rand to be all 'psych, loser!') but any of them could manage it under the right circumstances.

Does anyone know if there are plans to do a collectors edition release of all books post TGS. I want o re-purchase the entire series as a set if possible. I would also love the European covers instead of the US version.

This post has cover spoilers. *** There are many prophecies and foreshadowings that relate to a time of darkness that we can expect to coincide with the time Rand is dead. I wanted to gather together all the quotes I could think of relating to that time of darkness, since we now have an eclipse on the cover. (Added back because the rest of my post doesn't make any sense without that.) First up and most important is the 'twice dawns the day' prophecy, which I doubt will be fulfilled by an eclipse (certainly not a natural one). I've argued this in various places, but I don't think that this prophecy is particularly metaphorical, and so I don't think tha…

I am very dissapointed that we will not be seeing any defection by the forsaken back to the light. I had hoped to see such, and Asmodean i guess went close, but apart from Semirhage who had been showing signs of figuring out the Great Lord was using them none of the other forsaken seem to have figured this out and we see from Moridins point of view that all of the other forsaken are fools who still believe in the belief of grand rewards through the eternities. In particular Grandeal and Demandred are much too self interested and still dream of becoming Naeblis. The other fosaken are now all dead or directly under Moridins rule and unable to really plan or do anything o…

Is it reasonable to assume that a tied-off MoM would hold inside Far Madding? Wondering about this because it leaves a faint chance that one of the Borderlanders is Demandred. The weight of evidence seems to suggest Roedran is most likely as Demandred but still, it is a possibility. Quite a few of them are singletons - widows/ widowers so there wouldn't be immediate family members wondering about changes in behaviour. Second, Aran'gar's PoV at the Gardens tells us that she/he had pretended to be somebody else. Not Sammael (from the PoV). Not the fiery Dragon who came to Mesema because that had a female soul according to author responses. So, who? Was it the M'Hae…

Hello all, been lurking on these boards for a few months after finishing my first read through of WoT and joined the other day. Now I'm still a massive Noob when it comes to theorising and speculating on AMOL but I've had a feeling in my gut about these two ever since Logain was healed and Mazrim started acting "dark" for lack of a better word. My feeling is that RJ has pulled a fast one, a big fat red herring so to speak and Taim is going to pull a "Snape" at some point in AMOL and reveal he's been working as a double agent for the light this whole time and Logain will reveal he's really a darkfriend. This is only a feeling I have and unfortunately I haven't go…

I wanted to know which parts of AMoL people were really looking forward to so I started this. I'm sorry if i left anything important out, but I ran out of multiple choice options. Anyways, please respond, I am really curious. I personally am really looking forward to Tarmon Gaidon and the battles inside, I have a feeling that will be the most exciting. Anyways, knock yourselves out.

Moraine told Matt and Tom that a man came looking for Lanfear (presumably) while she was with the Finns. Shortly after that event Cyndane shows up as one of Moridin's pets. I've seen a couple questions raised in the threads about this event. First, how exactly did Moridin (or possibly Slayer) waltz into Finnland and then walk back out without some of the same fun filled adventures Matt went through? Secondly, if he did get Lanfear from them, why is she in a new body? The idea I have is that those two questions are actually connected. Moridin didn't really need Lanfear, just her soul. The Finns, though, would have taken their time draining her and probably wouldn't…

We had a conversation with Brandon about this during his #wotrr because he was wondering if Rand's fever dream about Thom reciting the Fisher King prophecy was an early example of Lews Therin talking to him. I thought it unlikely for several reasons, most importantly: 1) Why as Thom? 2) Lews Therin didn't start 'talking' to Rand until TFOH at the earliest, and really LOC. There are barely hints of it in TSR. I pointed out that that dream had always made me wonder because it made me feel like I was missing the place where Thom originally mentioned the Fisher King prophecy (in the waking world), partly because the 'queen is wed to the land' bit comes from what Bunt…

Ok so i've been going through my first reread. and i'm currently in COT. and i've been wondering if the deal that was made for the bowl of winds sounds completely ridiculous to the rest of you too or if i'm the only one. I mean here is my argument, i'm going to pretend i'm in a simular situation. Ok so i found a bowl that changes the weather its really freaking hot but idk how to use it. However my neighbor does and it turns out it used to be his great grandfathers or what ever right. I would then say hey, buddy fix the weather for me and you can have what I FOUND back. instead its like she is in debt by having them do something that benefits the world and they g…

So, to much annoyance, i've run across a lot of books that i'd like to read but won't because of all the reviews they've gotten on Amazon concerning their quality on Kindle. Typos, errors, bad formatting, missing sentences to whole paragraphs. So, i've also read that some of the later Wheel of Time books on Kindle might suffer from one of these issues. My question is, how are the WoT books on Kindle? Are they filled with typos and bad formatting, or are they error free? Thanks in advance.
