What confrontations would you most like to see? Not asking which ones are likely or unlikely, so please no "Oh that won't happen" type posts. This purely a 'dream match' type thread. lol. And if you can, give a reason why. :) 1. I would like to see Mat and Cadsuane go face to face. I think Mat is one person she wouldn't know what to do with. She can't channel against, he's the most stubborn when it comes to listening to AS, and she slaps him, we know he has no reservations of bending and AS over his knee and spanking her back. lol. Also, Mat has a way of charming almost everybody. I could see them having a huge fight, but at the end I think he could actually …

I don't know if this has been spoken of, but ya, thats pretty much it. Will Avi figure that out for her, and if so, i wonder how it could play out? what might they do? Commence going to town!!

I had this image of Seta and Bethamin submitting themselves to Egwene because she essentially freed them from their fates as damane - initially they interpreted the situation incorrectly, however their time with Joline, Teslyn and the other AS might have shown them the light. And these characters have had to be set up for some reason, and Seta being collared by Egwene and crew would make a nice balance for the ending...

I thought this was too great not to share.... Could he have survived the Last Battle? Could he have survived throughout the ages? Still trying his manipulations? You decide.... I don't think he'll get my vote....

Im on a re-read with LOC and I came across the part where Avi thinks to herself that she has toh to Rand and even bigger toh to Elayne and by killing Rand al'Thor she would meet one toh, killing herself she could meet the other, but each toh blocked that solution.. Ive had a long day and might not be thinking cleary, but how the heck does killing Rand meet either of those toh's?.......Dragon Mounters ...Assemble!!!!

Egwene herself said she would have chosen the Green Ajah if she had been raised normally. I see her as being more Blue than Green, with the way she strives for her goals. Anyone feel differently? Edited for spelling.

Since Rand is more or less the central main character, I thought it would be off (or maybe this offness is what RJ intended) for Rand not to be the director of the weaves in the destruction of the DO. Callandor, to be used safely, must be used in a circle of one-man, two-women with the one of the women in control (TPoD Ch.27). On the otherhand, two women control one man with the sad bracelets where eventually the link will leak its control to the man. I can see the sad bracelets used to control Moridin or some Dark male channeler when he somehow gets control of Callandor (ToM Ch.51, Min sees Callandor wielded by a 'black' hand). We have yet to see this 'back seepage' take…

Not much to reveal here, guys. We heard in the #wotgh that the first POV would be someone who works for Jarid Sarand. It was one of his bodyguards (I think his name was Bari, and we've never seen him before, since we've never seen Jarid). Essentially, Jarid has gone a little bit batty since we last heard of him, and he thinks that Elayne is causing all the problems in his camp, like the food spoiling (which is still happening in his camp), the bubbles of evil (in this scene it was metal softening, ruining all of their weapons). There was a similarity between Bari (?) and Androl, really...he was working on stone spearheads to fix their weapons, and there was the same craft…

Hey so I just reread Towers of Midnight, and I got to the end and found myself once again wondering what the hell those things were at the end that looked like Aiel, but wore red veils and had sharpened teeth. My own personal opinion is that they are male channelers. We know that when male Aiel channelers are discovered, they go off to the blight to fight the shadow until they die and that none have ever returned. But what if the shadow is simply collecting them in order to use them in the last battle, and the creatures we saw at the end were the male channelers that had been collected. Also an interesting thing I saw about them was that they had red veils while the norma…

This may have been picked over at great length somewhere else but i could not find it. The Damane will have to be freed before the end of the series. Jordan/Sanderson couldn't end the series with a whole group of people enslaved. Based on the Pillars at the end of TOM I think Avienda will play a major role in this. Assuming that they will be freed what will the fallout be? Elaida will be back and she doesn't seem to have been broken by the collar. Will she claim that she still has a right to the Aryrlin seat? What kind of Chaos will this cause in the tower? Will they not be freed till after the last battle? Who will rehabilitate them the tower or the empire? So …

I was rereading ToM, and I read a part where Moridin was giving the dreamspike to Graendal and Moridin told Graendal that he knew the key for that dreamspike and that she would not be able to use it against him or any other of the forsaken. Does this mean that there is someone kind of weave or even simpler technique to disable a dreamspike and that this can be done to the one in the black tower or does this possible weave require the TP? Does this even exist or was it just mentioned in passing. Discuss.

I was driving in the car to work this morning and a song came on that, with WoT on my mind, reminded me of a particular relationship in the books and I though it would be fun to see what others thought were good relationship anthems. I came up with two: "Someone That I Use to Know" by Gotye for Egwene and Rand (that was the song on the radio) "Disparate Youth" by Santigold for Elayne and Rand So, what are your WoT realtionship anthems?

* Not sure if this theory already exists, but if it does, it must be either very old or very neglected * Having been around this forum for around 1.5 years (mostly lurking ), I came to the realisation that not once in all that time had I seen a proper discussion, or rather a proper theory, about Callandor and it's mystery weakness. Sure, there is the odd reference here and there- but discussion on this topic seems to have been avoided an awful lot, given the impact this weakness could have on the story. In fact, when compared to things like the bodyswap theory and heated debates over Egwene's personality and moral standing, Callandor seems a bit neglected. I thought …

I believe it was in The Shadow Rising where slayer makes his first appearance. In one scene where Perring is chasing him across the Dream World we see slayer entering the steel tower whcih leads into Finnland. So this got me thinking, maybe Slayer one or both of the men that are him, made a deal with the Finn to allow them to live and this was how Luc/Slayer was created? He did enter the tower so maybe he even has the power to enter the world of the Finns? Interstingly enough when rereading this scene I suddenly remembered a scene in one of the later books (I think it might have been Path of Daggers) where we are treated to a scene that suggested somebody entered Finn…

I was reading the gathering storm and this jumped out at me when Eggy is finished reading thru Verins book "Some were Sitters, others were the lowest and least powerful of Aes Sedai 200 by Verins count" I immeadiately thought of Daigan. I think she was Black! Thoughts?

not really sure what we should call the evil prophecies, evil don't sound right. the end of ToM, baddies say, we know their prophecies, but they can never kinow ours. I wonder if Verin knew them and wrote them down for Egwene?

The Pillars did not sho you the past, but it showed you your past, the past of your ancestors, so logically it wouldn't show you the future, but just your future. Your future is the world you would make without any influence by others, the rest of the world, becomes a billiards table and you are the cue ball. The world of Avienda's Vision was not a place formed by the Tuon and Mat we know, noone else would have left a permanent cease fire, not even an evil Tuon would have accepted that. But it is world formed by Avienda's perception of the world around her and her attitude toward it. The Pillars showed her, her future. That's what it does. Note: the message to the Aiel…

Okay honestly, I don't really believe this myself, but after giving it some thought, I think it might deserve some looking into. So here is my theory. We all know the driving force between what happened to Mordeth and SL was a deep hatred for the shadow that eventually consumed them and became a dark entity of its own. But what if MorFain's(I'm calling him Morphine from now on), hatred for the shadow actually outweighs his hatred for Rand and the others? I mean, think about it. He's killed and tortured Myrddraals to get info from them to use against the shadow, then he leaves Rand a note about Toman Head, which allows him and the others to distract the Seanchan so…

Didn't see a thread about this but I was wondering peoples thoughts on whether Fain might be cast into the bore to fight the DO as it gets sealed properly this time. I think Fain would be the perfect instrument to defeat the DO considering his powers come from the taint on Shadar Logoth which beats counter to the taint from the DO. Sealing him away with the DO would ensure that the DO had something to distract him and thus not concentrate his powers on breaking free and destroying the world again, at least for a while.

What was Jordan's problem with sex? I have never seen such avoidance of it in my life. Seriously, when Rand and Aviendha do it for the first time I had to read over it a few times, it was so vaguely written I was like ''Wha..?'' Or when ''Rand and Elayne get it on, he changed character perspectives from ONE PARAGRAPH TO ANOTHER. It was like he was desperate to get out of the situation! I could never comprehend how could describe acts of ultra violence, then suddenly thinking the audience cant handle a bit of sex... I find it pretty funny, I don't think the word sex is ever actually said is it?

I have been thinking about this for a while, with regards to RJs statement that a perfect Creator would never involve himself in his creation, leaving his oppisite, the Dark One, as the only super-human being to be able to influence Creation. I would like to know what is the communities opinion on the actions of the Wheel as a counter to the DO - instead of the Creator. I am struggling to put words to this, but what does the community think of this? Is the intelligence driving the wheel the balance of the intelligence driving the dark one?

I say entity because thats all i can describe him (it?) as. so i started this discusion (or i may just be repeating a conversations already held, please forgive me if i did) because im curious to see what everyone thinks about the DO's true intentions. not the forsaken, not the any of his forces, but HIM. No true motives, aside from the total destruction in the end, are conversed in the book. the DO is discussed in the series as a mysterious god is, to complex for anyone to understand even his disciples (the forsaken). SO i say we discuss the unkown! Why does he play the forsaken against each other? maybe merely for his love of chaos and greed, but then that would d…

I have always wondered what would happen when Moiraine and Rand meet. How do you think that it will happen, when will it ahppen? Will it happen when she somehow saves his life or will it be atime when Rand can just be happy? Will Rand not believe it at first or will he somehow know it was already going to happen? Will she change from her former self or be the same? Will she be there for the breaking of the seals and take Rand's side? I have a lot of questions so let's start a discussion.

I have a theory about the woman that Aviendha meet on her way to Rhuidean named Nakomi. There are several theory's i have seen about her. The creator sent her or variations of this. This doesn't seem to fit the creator that the books talks about. It describes the creator a gardener that once he was done with there world moved one to others and left it to them to make of it what they will. She is somehow Verin. This seem hard to believe because Nakomi understands j'e'toh in a very deep way. Nobody that was not Aiel could have that deep of an understanding of J'e'toh. Deeper understanding then even a Wise ones apprentice. Final theory i have heard is that the wise o…

I read the first 4.5 books when they first came out, but couldn't finish Fires of Heaven. The story just dragged. And I've heard a lot of people say the rest of the series just gets worse. But I have such fond memories of the early books that I want to restart the series and finishe it. Especially since it concludes with books finished by Brian Sanderson. (I just loved The Way of Kings!) So any advice on how to plow through the whole batch? I'm thinking I just have to slow down and be patient and look for beauty in his long-windedness.

Cadsuane’s and Nynaeve’s ter’angreal I will post a quick list of their description and use, and then below a more detailed citation. Cadsuane’s Ter'angreal Possessed originally by the wilder, Norla, who made Cadsuane 'earn them'. It is not entirely certain what 'earning them' entailed, just that it taught Cadsuane the lesson that 'what must be endured, can be endured'. 1. Eight-pointed Star - Vibrates when a man who can channel is nearby. Vibrates more violently as you increase the number of men who can channel who are nearby. 2. Hummingbird - Is a Well which allows a person to store an amount of saidar for use later. This allows someone insi…

Hello! This is my first post here on Dragonmount but i've lurked around for a long time! My theory is that the ashaman in the black tower who seem to be turned into darkfriends using the 13x13 trick can all be saved or killed off. First lets talk about darkfriends. Normally they show no signs of changing their personality after swearing the oaths to the dark one. Verin is a good example of this as well as the many darkfriends we have had a POV from. The ashaman on the other hand have changed quite a lot in personality and beliefs. This leads me to question what has happened to them. Now lets talk about the 13x13 trick. Not much is known about it aside from th…
