* bows meekly to the audience * * still feeling some sorrow * * the last visit will not be soon forgotten * * or forgiven, by some * Thank you for allowing me to visit your fires again. * bows again * * slight flourish of his cape * * not like the old days, though * I feel a need. A deep, real need. A strong desire. An urgent urge. I must comply. A rift of my own making has come between us. Since I do care about all of the People, this saddens me. I need to find a way to mend the broken bridge. There must be a way. I could try to apologize for my previous visit. That is not what I feel in my heart. I did what I did out of …

A question I'm sitting on for a couple of days now. Suppose you switch the bible and the Wheel of Time. People can be fundamentaly christian today (creationism etc.), would you be fundamentaly randian (or matian or whatever) if they were switched and all other factors (churches, ...) stayed the same? For myself, I don't know. I hope I'm not so stupid as to take it literally, but I'm not sure. The WoT world seems much more believable to me than the bible-world. Also, if you're not christian, replace all "bible"s with "quran" or "thora" or whatever. If this gets too deep into discussion, it should probably be moved to D&D. But I see it more as a poll…

Ask the Chosen - You really think I like this age? Dear Chosen, Personally, what do you think of our Age, and world we live in currently? What do you like/dislike it about it (and why). What do you think of our society in general and politics? Also, there is one more question I’d like to ask: How has your transition been from your Age to our own current Age? Sincere Regards, Le [...] http://www.dragonmount.com/OurCommunity/?p=176

I'm going to be teaching a writing workshop in southern California with another writing instructor on June 7 & 8, and I'd love to get some Dragonmounters there. Writers of all skill levels are welcome. We have a fun batch of writing sessions in store for everyone and it'll be a good chance to meet with other local writers in a peaceful location conducive to writing. There is an enrollment fee, but it's a lot cheaper than taking an extension course through one of the local universities and I promise everyone will get their money's worth. For more info, zip me a message or check out our class bulletin on Craig's List: http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cls/6500…

ATC - Know no Fear! Dear Evil Forsaken *grins*  Alot of people have some sort of irrational fear imbedded in them - dosn’t have to be downright phobias, but something that makes them ill at ease and which they would go to lengths to avoid … some can be afraid of heights, spiders, gaining weight, some types of dogs (that’s me), darkness, confinement, social situations … [...] http://www.dragonmount.com/OurCommunity/?p=173

I have read so many books in my life but the one genre I have not delved into much is Sci-Fi. I have been reading mostly Fantasy over the last 7 years or so and would like to get into SciFi. It never interested me until I played the Xbox 360 game Mass Effect. That game was so great and had such a good story that I want some more. Can you please list some good authors and books to get my SciFi adventures started. BTW, I have read a little of the Dune series and loved that. I only read the first two because I felt the 2nd book was such a good ending that I would stop there for now.

Bah! to the World Cup and Euro2008, Champions League is the tournament that counts in football. And as we're down to the final 16, it is starting to get really exciting. Tonight Liverpool - Inter Liverpool is quite shaken after the shock-defeat in the FA-cup against Champinship team Barnsley. Add to that that they are struggling to reach 4th place in the league, rather than being in the title race, and things does not look good for the scousers. On the other hand, they have managed before to perform their best when the odds are heaviest against them. Inter on the other hand is looking quite unstoppable at the moment. It would take a total collapse for …

If this has been done before, it probably should be done again, because if there is one thing this world does not lack is stupidity or just funny situations. So, I am going to put myself out on a limb and talk about one of my many embarrasing moments. If any of you would like to join in, so we can have a laugh or two, please join in. I am a custodian and I had to go through a training. We were talking one day about the equipment we use and how we use it. Just for your information, the big garbage can with wheels, we call a "brute". Sometimes it will have a bag on it that will hold various supplies and chemicals (For instance disenfectant that is labeled DD…

Hello lovely DMers. I have a query and was hoping that someone would be able to help me. I was a little put out (please read as massively disappointed) to see on Amazon.co.uk that 'The Bastards and the Knives', and 'Republic of Thieves' have been pushed back in publishing dates from May and June to November and February respectively. Is this true? Have the books really been delayed? Does anyone have any more information? I can't seem to find anything more other than they have been delayed and no one seems to know anything else above that. Any info would be appreciated! :)

What books are you guys reading to fill the void until AMoL? Just trying to get a feel for what books you guys are reading and enjoy. Myself: Acacia, David Anthony Durham- great series, though thus far only the first book has been completed, stylistically similar to A Song of Ice and Fire. A Song of Ice and Fire, George R.R. Martin- I'd say this series is just as good as WoT Elantris/Mistborn, Brandon Sanderson- just started reading his stuff and I am very impressed by it. Elantris was very good for a stand-alone epic fantasy, and though I am not done Mistborn it looks to be just as good or better. The Wolves of Time, William Horwood- these …

Im new so if this has been suggested b4 and shutdown then how am i to know yes i know there is already a WOT game and i havent played it but from wat ive seen on youtube it looks kina out of date i think that WoT should b remade into a video game with possiblythe same story line ( there is no rand to fight the dark one) or maybe someting new but either way i tink it would be alright. a movie could ruin the WOT because it would not be able to offer its viewers what the novels do however a game could be fun any1 else agree/disagree and hav any ideas?
