  1. Ladies and gentlemen, once again I come humbly before you and extend my sincere thanks for having me as a guest at your fires. * bows to the audience as they applaud politely * * gradually lets his smile diminish, replaced by a serious face * * eyes are intense...focusing inward as if searching for strength * Today... * blushing slightly * * obviously having trouble continuing * Today...is a day most of you will never forget. I would like to promise you a day filled with happiness...however, I fear that would not be true. :( * pausing once again * * soul searching...seriously * * deep breath * As I said, I am honored to be …

What is your view on it? Abortion is when a woman becomes pregnant, and does not want the child to be born, so they go to a special doctor so it can be killed. My view on this subject is that I oppose it, I think it is wrong to let an unborn child die, but I do think that somtimes things like that might be neccesary. Somtimes. What do you think about this?

After some investigation today, we have determined that the person who posted here as leebarr and tree-brother is in fact alive and well. We have banned the IP range associated with these accounts. Please do not contact this individual about recent events. He's likely very embarrassed about the whole thing and we really don't need to add to that. If you are contacted, please forward it to Community@dragonmount.com and let myself or another staff member handle it. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  4. The Earth has turned, it is mud-luscious spring and the Illuminators/Scribes invite DragonMount to whistle with the little lame balloonman. Go to the Illuminators. Visit the Scribes. Step out of your norm and trumpet your creativity! ------------------- I invoke my rights as a member of the Illuminators to call for a poetry jam. I don't care if it rhymes, if it sings, if it crawls, creaks or caterwauls. Prosey, poesy, couplet, tetrameter, slinky, slinky, so fun it's a wonderful toy. I want a celebration of Spring. Now. Celebrate the slipping grasp of old man Winter and the rise of Demeter, goddess of the harvest. Raucaus, glaucaus, Bacchalarian rite…

So I'm at my local dollar store getting Halloween treats for the neighborhood kiddies. I decide to peruse the book section, because they often have surprisingly good children's literature there. I walk past the adult books, and what do I see? Crossroads of Twilight. Hard cover. Perfect condition, nothing wrong....ONE DOLLAR. Now, as you are probably reacting right now (and as I did at first), you are thinking "Holy cow! Book 10 for a dollar??!! It's like I've won the lottery!" But after handling the book, and after everything that has happened in the last couple months, I felt offended that I was holding this wonderful work of literature, with a measly one dolla…

Tune or No Tune Right…it’s time to mention of a new fun thread for everyone at DM from the best ORG (as voted in the Emperor Awards 2007), the Band of the Red Hand. So feel free to come by and join in the fun. It’s an extremely simple idea - it’s called Tune or No Tune. Every week, either [...] http://www.dragonmount.com/OurCommunity/?p=170

  9. um id just thought id throw it out to the ..er ether that um why don't we have a Book Discussion board here it would fit perfectly under (to my mind anyway) the 'general discussion' umbrella as a child board or something, and well i assume, well know, that there are a few others that like to read other book, and we are here because of reading a book in the first place. if there's like some reason that you think its a forum dedicated to only WoT, so we shouldn't have a special place for the competition or you've tried it before, but it would give a place for people to put all the george martin stuff, and the million million 'so what else do you recommend ' threads, all i…

So, is anybody else around here ready to start riding their bikes to work? ;D I am so tired of these gas prices. It's time for alternative fuels to be at the pumps nationwide (worldwide). Why do we suffer so when the oil companies keep reporting their biggest earnings ever? I understand the issues behind it, but it still seems they are gouging us. As much as I hate government regs(usually) I wish they would step in here. Oh well, not much this Gleeman can do about it. ;D Just had to vent. **Gets on his unicycle and peddles away to work, juggling 9 sharp knives as he rides**

I thought this was funny and that someone may need a laugh. UPS AIR FREIGHT..... Just in case you need a laugh: Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one. Reassurance for those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilot…

For those of you who haven't been on George R. R. Martin's blog in the last two days Barnes and Nobles has created a forum for his fans to sign on and ask him any question they want to about all of his books, Wild Cards, or his work in Television. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/bn/board?board.id=CenterStage He gets on and answers questions speradically, but it looks as though he answers every question posed to him, as long as you don't post them in the "April 14-18: George R. R. Martin" thread. And therefore you only have between now and Friday to ask your questions and read his answers to others.

I'm planning on playing the MMO "Age of Conan" when it launches in a month and a half. I'm also planning on forming a guild in the game with the name "The Band of the Red Hand". Since this is technically copyrighted content, do I need to get written permission to do so? If so, how?

  20. Good day, I've been wondering something for some time, and figured I'd finally ask it. Is there a reason why there's no news posted here of new Brandon Sanderson's blogs relating to AMoL? Or is there a reason why Dragonmount can't mirror those particular blog postings? I think it'd be nice to see those pieces of information here on this site, and that way, if the posts are mirrored, similar to RJ's blog we could post responses/comments to them. Any comments, thoughts?

His middle name anyway... my wife isn't too keen on 'Rand' which is what I've been pushing for for the past few months. I've introduced quite a few of my friends to the series and my sister and brother-in-law are all on board for it, but since none of them get to make the decision I've not had much luck. I'd like a name from the series and I want it to be somebody of at least SOME significance (no random villagers)... I've also struck out with Lan, and Perrin... it's at least got to be close to normal for her to bite on it, but I also want it to be obvious that it's got some outside significance. I know the parameters are stringent, but this is what I've got to work w…

Alright, heres the question. If you were in a meaningful relationship, and your significant other had a friend, of the opposite sex, stay the night at their house and sleep in their bed with them, no matter what the circumstances were, would you be jealous or upset? Or would you trust your partner?

Okay I didnt see this as a post already so here we go. I think ff7 is the best of the series. I dont own a PS so I figured I would get it for PC since I want to play it again after all these years. Now I come to find out that people are charging like $60+ for this dang game. The worst of it is, it is no cheaper used. I dont know what the F*** happened here can someone please explain it to me? By the way using rarity as an excuse is not gonna fly for me right now, I have seen new unopened copies selling for 60+ as well. I guess I just wanted to sound off but if anyone can help me find a solution to this horrible problem, my thanks you will have.
