This is a game of lovers mafia

 

Setup

There are 4 pairs of lovers, 2 town-town paid. 2 mafia-town pairs. All lovers share a QT with each other and mafia share a QT with themselves.

 

This is nightless (mafia have no kill).

 

Town win when both mafia are dead, mafia win at parity.

 

Days will be roughly 48 hours, hybrid hammer etc

What are the rules regarding lovers? Do we know who the lover teams are and, if not, are we allowed to talk about it?

 

Also, are there roles that are something else on top of lover, or is everyone vanilla?

It will not be announced whose in which team, but there are no rules against claiming

Hmmm...I looked through the pinned threads and read everything on the other website, but I wasn't able to find rules for how to play these mafia games. Is there a thread somewhere that explains them, or is it just "watch and learn?"

you can join the dead thread and spectate and talk about the game with other people, or just sign up :)

 

Essentially it's a game with an informed minority (mafia/wolves) vs uninformed majority (town/village). Mafia know who each other are and generally win when they have voting parity with town (equal numbers). Town win when all none town are dead.

 

There are many ways to identify mafia/town. Some people use tone reads (how natural or fake do people sound), some people like voting analysis (do people have good reasons for voting), etc etc etc. Most people will use a little of everything.

 

There are also power roles, but in this setup the only role is lovers. This means that every player is paired with another, you don't know the alignment of the other player (unless you're mafia) but you share a QT (off site quicktopic chat), and if one of you is lynched you both die.
