Seeing as how I'm getting a ton of heat for my policy of allowing the Social Groups to "police themselves" when it comes to drama within mafia games not on the main board, I've decided to take a firm stance that I unfortunately must extend to all relevant Social Groups (ones that host games).

 

Until further notice, no mafia games are to be played outside of the dedicated main mafia board.  The reason is, I have a usergroup set up that I can restrict people from playing mafia as needed without impacting their ability to partake it other aspects of DM.  This is only in place on the main board due to how sub-boards work and how access controls work on the site.

 

I apologize if this negatively impacts upcoming games, and I am happy to work with those upcoming mods to slot them in on the mafia board queue so that they may run their games more quickly then just being added to the bottom.  I'll use date stamps for game announcements/PMs if needed just in case there are issues.

 

With the control (via usergroups) I can exert on the main board, the hope is that we can re-build a solid & cohesive mafia community again and then perhaps expand it to the Social Groups at some point.  If there are any questions, please let me know.

Yeah, he did say he was going to do that.  Assuming you guys are cool with doing your points thing via the game on the main board, it sounds pretty seamless.  :-)

Well it's a real shame to lose our beloved BT games. But hey, there's the side benefit of drawing more activity to the main Mafia board, so maybe that'll help those games run more frequently. 

Well, we can just call the games run at the main board BT games every now and then, right? :)

In theory you should still be able to have the sign-up thread here and just move to the Mafia forum when it's ready to start, no?

I'm thinking that could keep it more in the spirit of a BT game vs just a third queue on the main forum.  (And I would argue that there is a bit of a difference; BT sort of passively encourages more experimental game builds.)

I thought about that, and here is what I'm thinking.  You can have signups here, but they also need to be noted on the main board because I'm going to work it into that queue.  There isn't going to be a "BT queue" because that opens up more issues with timing and filling other games, and I don't want that (yet).

 

You can label them "BT Mafia" if you'd like in the thread title or whatever, but they need to have at least linked signups on the main board.

Ok, cool.  I'll weave them into the main queue and then the mafia board queue will contain the official listing of games waiting to be run.....but obv you guys can have whatever you'd like regarding a queue over here as well.  It might be a little annoying for folks as I work the queues into one cohesive list, but then it should be fine from there.

Actually it looks like it's just Darthe's game which is in sign ups now, and then Shad's database mafia on the queue. 

 

There are a couple of other games there, but they are on hold since the hosts are MIA.

DB Mafia has been ready to roll for a while now, but its roster requirement is.... ambitious.  We'll see what happens.

I keep rereading my role PMs for it and giggling at how incredibly bastard it is.

Can I have a preemptive /in on that game? Although TBH you'll probably want to PM me when it's about to start since I check the forums so infrequently these days. I don't have as much free time as during the summer.
