Animals have been used to personify particular traits for ages. Perhaps some of these are more accurate than others. I am sure you have heard terms like, quiet as a mouse or sly as a fox.

 

What animal personification do you like the most? Which do you think are accurate or inaccurate?

I've always heard that cats are curious. You know, curiosity killed the cat. But I think dogs are even more curious than cats.

I've never owned a cat, so I can't speak on this exactly.  But I do know dogs are very, very curious!  At even the slightest noise, my dachshund is up and investigating, usually loudly.

 

When we were little, my mom always used to say, "We're off like a herd of turtles," when we started road trips.  Haha.

Slow as a sloth.

Busy as a Beaver and I think that is correct.

 

I like sloths, but they are very slow.

 

I've heard busy as a bee, but busy as a beaver is possible too. I know beavers have amazing building skills.

 

Wise as an owl, is another phrase that sticks out for me.

Eat like a bird... since its used to say you don't eat much it's incorrect. Birds actuality eat a lot! 

What about "dangerous as alligators," or as Brandon Sanderson says in Steelheart:

Observant as a hawk.

I like these.

 

I'm sure there are some that may be more familiar in one region than to another.
