Do you have a garden?

Are you planning on growing anything?

                                                                                                           Vegetables, Herbs, Flowers?

I try. My soil is terrible and roughly 80% of what I have tried to grow in the past 15 years has died. I have one surviving Crepe Myrtle, one Rose of Sharon, and a holly. However the Creeping Myrtle that took over the yard before we moved in that was planted as a "small side bed plant" (I have no idea why the previous owners thought this was a good idea) is doing quite well! (I miss Virginia...if you sneezed, flowers bloomed. It was so easy to grow things in our yard there).

I am eyeing some of the larger deep wooden 'garden boxes' on stilts that I could put in the back yard that are taller than my dogs and contemplating trying a little vegetable or herb garden, maybe flowers, but I'm still thinking about it for this summer.

I don't enjoy veggies enough to justify the time and expense of gardening.

I gave the Square-Foot Gardening concept a shot a few years ago and I have to say it worked. I grew radishes, some lettuce, and peas. Something about the geometric nature of the idea appealed to me.
