This one's been hitting my feed lately.
My thoughts on the song.

This, this right here is exactly what RJ was talking about with Rand's obsession with being "Hard", and having to "suffer" in "silence". It's largely self inflicted. 

In the books, Min's role as one of the three, was to teach Rand how be human again. How to soften himself and break down those barriers, and was largely responsible for Zen Rand.

I think it hits a lot of guys right square in the feels because this is society and generational pressure at work.
That even though we know our wives/girlfriends, and kids may not just look at us just what we provide, our brains have put those seeds in there. Then you toss in how you were raised, society pressures, etc and now you can't talk about it, even if you wanted to. 

 

It's easier to become a stone. Shovel those feelings into a void and don't think about them. Become stone faced. And Hard.

 

And the problem with hard things... They like to shatter.
