Hey all. I've just started reading WoT for the first time. The band of friends are about to leave Two Rivers for the first time...

Is there a section of the forum for readalong discussions? Or can anyone point me to areas of interest that will be spoiler free?

Looking forward to losing myself in this epic saga ?

Welcome! Dragonmount is a wonderful place to be and you will find lots of friendly people here; unfortunately, the spoiler ban was lifted a while back since the entire series has been released for several years now so venturing into the other forums will be at your own risk. I'm sure you could post in the Wheel of Time Books Forum and list in the title that you are currently reading the series for the first time and wish to avoid spoilers. Hope that helps!

The he thing that made me really enjoy Peter Jackson’s LOTR was that despite the departures from the books the story was told in the same tone as the novels and so it still felt like LOTR Same went for Game of Thrones, the books had a darker tone and thus so did the show so it felt like the same world and the same story. WOT by contrast just does not have the same tone as the books. It feels like they are trying to tell the story of WOT in the tone of GOT and it just feels off
