anyone here super familiar with making patterns in photoshop?

I have made a few! Although i'm a bit rusty. what are you trying to make?

i want to come up with a couple patterns i can use on some products for my company. on backpacks, cups, phone covers etc

Oh! I see what you mean, as opposed to .pat files, you mean art that can duplicate over large areas. If you have the art, it's pretty easy to make into a pattern for such products.

yeah that's what i'm thinking. replicated/repetition of images into a pattern. 

So the best way to do this is to start with the image you want. Once you have created it, enlarge your canvas and set it in a pattern that would work in a repeating manner. if you have the images set its isn't difficult to arrange if you need help. ❤️

Oh that is fun! I like the colors. (blue is such a weakness for me. ^^)

haha yeah. i tend to like earthy jewel tones but sometimes things scream blue

good going, when i made patterns in past i tended to not have them end in halfway through tiles...because i didnt have to wrap my head around making it work out from all angles

well i used the pattern fill in photoshop, so basically create one tile and then it’ll apply it all over repetitiously

Looks great like a Scottish kilt, but also christmas spirit☺

yeah i want to make a tartan for my company. sis had been doing some genealogy and found out we're a heck lot more scottish than we ever thought.  

Omg I'm so sorry! I swear my head was thinking tartan, but my fingers just went their own way...probably because my head said logically you were making a kilt from it.. Are you actually gonna make the tartan? Color and wove it? 

that would be pretty cool but as of yet i have no way to do that. though i may start looking around now

Love genealogy ? My wife is crazy Scottish, and I have some myself, but more Irish ? Beautiful work!
