Agreed on open world games! Yeah I like how exploring is almost a game in itself, depending on mood you can either play on or just explore.

Which is better, platform or open-world video games?

I think I'm more of a Platform-type player. Open-worlds are a lot to invest in and often if I want to invest time like that into something I would prefer a more satisfying end result, like a novel or something. That said, I see the benefit to both.
