I was playing the soundtrack and my fiancé, who listens to movie and TV soundtracks as her driving music, came into the room and asked "what's this from, it sounds cool". So it's got that official stamp of approval!

Yes, the dissonance is an interesting choice... as you suggest, maybe it's part of an attempt to move away from "good vs. evil" towards more of a morally grey zone.

 

The track is also oddly frantic, whereas I associate Moiraine with serenity. But it does give off a "dangerous, urgent quest" vibe.

Really happy with what's been released of the soudtrack. It sounds distinctly fantasy-esque while also being sort of experimental and weird. I love the distance that it puts between itself and more traditional soundtracks like LotR which have been the standard for the last two decades. 

 

If I had one thing on my wishlist for the rest of the soundtrack, it would be more eastern sounds, something which could give certain scenes a kind of samurai vibe. I think having the physical setting be more western while the soundtrack is eastern would be a really cool way to translate that east-meets-west fantasy vibe from the page to the screen.

Repeating myself, but Wab'shar is really great. It's my favorite.

I also like how all the songs really sound like they belong together.
