Since there is a forum for it, let me introduce myself. I'm old enough to remember reading Tolkien, Feist and various others in the 80s.  Robert Jordan, Glen Cook, GRRM and many others after that.  I like epic fantasy, intelligent sci fi, but not limited to that.

I've seen so many book adaptions I've been disapointed with I think I have become immune, whether it be Stephen King, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum or John Grisham.  I really did like The Shawshank Redeption though.  It will take a lot for me to stop watching WoT even if it does turn out to be disapointing. I'm hoping it will not.  I don't feel my opinions on it are useful.  It's sort of in the ball park of "nostalgia meets my favourite sports team", or something.

I'm old, tired and sometimes like a beer on a Friday or Saturday night. I'll try not to post anything too stupid because of that though.

*splutters* You are not allowed to call yourself old if you read Tolkien e.a. in the 80s. Okay? Unless you were 35 at the time. ... That could be true.

Welcome, to the place where we are all young at heart. I tried the grumpy old woman routine; it's not me.
