The Rhyming Game - Each poster's first line must rhyme with the line above it, but can be any length. Then each poster contributes a new line that doesn't have to rhyme.

Lines strained at the mast

Player 1:

The grass was growing too tall too fast

The cow jumped over the moon

Player 2:

The cook ran way with the groom

The errand was taking so long

Player 3:

Five birds danced about to a song

Ghosts give me such a fright

Player 4:

I'm having a very good night

The tuxedo was easy to mend

...

...

 

 

I'll go first:

 

The rat was a king in his maze

But he was always in a daze

Because he drank way too much

What was in his lunch?

Was it the salami sitting out for days?

Perhaps he could use a raise?

For a rat, fat chance that

He fashioned a a glider out of a mat,

And set his sights on the sky above

Stunned, at the ghastly dove

Tea brewed for the brat

Minty and cool! *sips*  oh drat...?

To awake from the dream, when reality beckons

If at first you do not enjoy the sip, take a second

then if it is still lousy, then perhaps your taste buds are drowsy

The rat realized it was still lousy

and threw his nasty tea away

This was undeniably, unequivocally, inconsolably Rat King's worst day

Not even cheese would fix this

 

All the other rats were amiss

At how awful the Rat Kings day had been

Splat, the rat king threw the bean

across the room, eying the Bologna. 

Outside, across the lake, skaters waited impatiently for the zamboni

Then they slipped and slid on the freshly slicked ice

This is not nice shouted the Rat King covered in lice

First my food is bad and now people are slipping on the ice, not once but twice!

Twice? They slipped thrice!
Buhahaha I am the Rat King fear me!

And fear them they did, indeed

Thus ends the tale of Rat King's big day

And down they all lay

To the neverending golden sleep
