If I remeber correctly, it is because the forsaken knew a to make it so you couldn't see their weaves, didn't they?  Inverted weaves or something.  I'm not positive, because it's been a while since I read that part.  (I'm currently listening to the books again, but I'm only on book two.)  But I think that that is what it is.

Yup, inverted weaves.

Inverted weaves also explain why none of them can see through her disguise as Keille Shaogi and tell what she actually looks like.  They can't even see that it is a disguise.

Interestingly enough, the same is apparently not true about her voice.  Or at least, she didn't bother disguising it.

Another example is when Rand went to meet with the fake Tuon, Casudane had an ornament that could detect a woman channeling but she didn't know who it was since the weave was inverted.  Once she got close enough it broke the weave revealing Semi.
