How does making Logain the main villain for season 1 change the storyline? Does it make for a better show? Please share your thoughts.

 

 

I think it makes it way further away from the books than what we got, has super-expensive sets and lots more extras extending across multiple episodes than we had, increasing expense, those sets would only be usable for one season as opposed to Tar Valon which could be reused.  It gets away from the core themes of Wheel of Time, not just introduce them early, and doesn't do the thing the show WAS lacking which was bringing forward more plot and story time for underserved characters while not taking a way from the characters whose plot they emphasized.  And, with big battles like that so early, they have fewer places for the story to build towards, instead putting it up front.

 

So...creative? Yeah.  Not the end of the world.  But not as good as what we got.

logain is not the main villain. he's a main villain of a single episode.

and it's one of the best changes they made. right up until the moment when nynaeve healed everyone, at least.
