Put down your guilt and seriously think about which was the better film. Schindler's List was an important film and a story that needed to be told - but was it really a better movie than Shawshank? The ending of SL made me shudder and not in a good way.

 

I will hush now as I have just deleted several paragraphs of potentially inflamatory ranting and this is supposed to be a fun thread.

 

I blame the raspberry and passionfruit cocktails and not enough sleep,

Looks like Schindler's made a last ditch effort to overtake Shawshank, but in the end Shawshank moves to the next round.

Regardless - I vote Lord of the Rings for Peter Jackson's ability to bring the books to life and for his dedication and love of characters and knowing the importance of the quieter moments of the stories.

 

I just don't dig Lucas at all and I think his writing is juvenile. I still have a fondness for the original SW films but that's because I grew up with them.
