Is Mazrim Taim Demandred in disguise?

In the prologue of The Lord of Chaos Demandred said: Let the Lord of Chaos rule and in the last chapter of KoD Mazrim said the same words. So does that make them one and the same person

No. RJ has said specifically that Taim is not Demandred, and that we have not met Dem's alter ego..if he has one. There are lots of theories as to where Dem is hiding out though.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO NO!

This question should be stickied.

Not to be rude RedHand, I just get tired of seeing the question asked...

LOL, can we sticky a post including quotes of all the numerous times RJ has said Demandred is not Taim?

Semirhage said the same thing too.

SEMIRHAGE IS DEMANDRED!!!!!!

The world makes sense now. I always knew the moderately tall white guys were really, really tall black women!

heh, asking whether taim=demandred here is like asking whether the leader of the akatsuki is the yodaime of the leaf on my manga forums XD

"no already damn it!" XD

The leader of the what is the who?

... what?

... what?

It's an absurd comparison based in the Naruto manga. Akatsuki is a criminal organization in the story, and Yondaime was 4th Hokage (a ninja rank) of the Hidden Leaf village. It is apparently speculated that Yondaime may be Naruto's father. Essentially, there's no way that the leader of the Akatsuki is Yondaime of the Hidden Leaf. So, the poster was saying that the comparison between Demandred and Taim is equally absurd.

Ah, Google. Satisfying the idle curiosity of nerds everywhere.

thx RAW^^ forgot i had posted here^^ originally ment to come back and clarify that after a couple "wtf" comments^^

for my fellow naru-tards out there, u gotta admit its a good analigy^^

you are wrong when you say he´s said that demandred isnt taim, he specifically said that demandred has never POSED as taim and then went on a tirade of how the most straightforward answers are the trickiest alá aes sedai...

Demandred did not recognize Damer Flinn at the cleansing from his own POV, he was surprised to find out that he could channel.

Demandred is either extremely forgetful or He is NOT TAIM!

I guarantee you that RJ threw that bit in just to finish off this whole Demandred=Taim idiocy.

*sigh*

This is from ToR Question of the Week. It could not have been falsified, only RJ had access to that site.

Quote:

Week 4 Question: At recent book signing following the release of Crossroads of Twilight, it was reported that you confirmed that the Forsaken Demandred has never posed as the man known as Mazrim Taim, who was introduced to Rand at the beginning of Lord of Chaos. Have you confirmed that Demandred has never posed as the man known as Mazrim Taim, leader of the Black Tower?

Robert Jordan Answers: Yes. Demandred has never posed as Mazrim Taim. All right, those of who fell over from the shock of a simple, straightforward answer can get up off the floor now. Sometimes, simple and straightforward can be the most devious of all, as any student of Aes Sedai will tell you. <Maniacal>

These are reports from various signings. They have all been spoken of by several different people present.

Q: "It's been said that you mentioned that Mazrim Taim is not Demandred. There seems to be some confusion on whether or not you said that."

A: "Mazrim Taim is not Demandred."

Tim Kington concurs:

Q: "Taim is clearly not Demandred, right?"

A: (Disgusted) "I've said that before, and it's not Taim, it's Ta-eeem."

The same response was also reported on wotmania.com, in LiveJournal's Wheel of Time community, and in several emails.

Quote:

Q: "Have we yet seen the alter ego Demandred presents to the Third Agers on-screen?"

A: "No." (I asked twice to make sure.)

[Michael Martin, Dayton OH signing]

These particular quotes were recorded on the WoT FAQ.

Then we have Demandred not recognising Flinn. So, he is NOT Mazrin Taim, and he is NOT posing as anyone we have seen onscreen.

Even without all the other instances of RJ denying it...

Demandred is Demandred. If he's walking around telling people his name is Mazrim Taim then he's posing as Mazrim Taim.

Fine. I killed Asmodean... oh wait' date=' wrong thread.[/quote']

 I KNEW IT!!
